Tourist visa to stay over 30 days ??
DrJack54 replied to georgegeorgia's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
All agents can do for 12 month extension based on marriage is hand holding. Directing you to required paperwork etc. The Financial requirements are not too difficult. If over 50 and do not meet the financial requirements then an agent will suggest extension based on retirement -

Question on Multiple-Entry Tourist Visa
DrJack54 replied to Cutty Shark's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
OP, correct answers above. The key date to keep eye on is June 10. You should exit and reenter just prior to that date. In doing that you will be stamped in for 60 days. That 60 stamp can also be extended by 30 at immigration office. Hence you read that METV can provide a 9 month stay. Ripper visa. -
Overstayed by 7 months.

I don't see this as a similar issue. Sure there have been cases involving medical reasons for overstay also court cases and folk end up on overstay if they didn't obtain extension for court proceedings etc. Lawyers in some situations can be useful but costly. Not really clear about this friend of a friend situation is. One thing is clear (imo) get out of dodge. -
Waste of time back and forth with someone wanting to play their own rules. Most hotels require pp for check in. Posts in thread re wife check in only apply those traveling with Thai. Many do not. After Songkran I will attend bank to obtain bank cheque for condo purchase. I will require pp at bank and also Land office. This thread is 3 pages of nonsense. Check in to a hotel provide your passport. Simple.

And I wrote "You MAY require a TM30...." Obtaining a 30 day extension in Bangkok high chance. Many threads such as this indicate tm30 more often than not is required https://aseannow.com/topic/1292207-tm30/ -

That would not be a good idea. He will receive a ban. He needs to exit via airport now. -
Retirement 800k rules
DrJack54 replied to mja1906's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
It's 2 months prior to date of application for extension. The 4 was a typo. So it's all about the date of application. 800k for 2 months prior to application + maintained at 800k for 3 months after application and not below 400k in other months -
