  1. I always fly Emirates. Went to Cape Town this year. Booked flights and seats online. Excellent airline.
  2. Thank you CM. The reason I asked this question is 'Expattax' states for those on a low income pension remittance 100,000 pension allowance and 60,000 personal allowance. https://www.expattaxthailand.com/taxation-overseas-pensions-thailand/
  3. Whatever amount of UK state pension is transferred to Thailand, will you get 100,000 baht pension allowance and 60,000 personal allowance?
  4. The many bad reviews that are displayed on the internet and you're concerned about giving the name of your provider. That did make my laugh.
  5. Currently using VPN with Proton from Malaysia. Have checked with abuse and no problem. Have been using Proton for over a year with no issues.
  6. A World War Two veteran has said Sir Keir Starmer has a "golden opportunity" to end what she describes as a "brutal" policy of freezing the pensions of some Britons who move overseas. Anne Puckridge, who is days away from turning 100, is one of just over 453,000 British pensioners living abroad who do not get any annual rise in their state pension. She has received £72.50 a week since she moved to Canada in 2001, at the age of 76, to be nearer her daughter. More: https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cd753pp8338o
  7. Maybe so, but what about tobacco products are they considered to be a safer alternative?
  8. UPDATE: It has been revealed on Friday that the past six years of Rama II Road saw 2,242 accidents. https://x.com/KhaosodEnglish/status/1862431786208477271
  9. That'll be some increase in their retirement pension if this goes ahead. Don't all rush for those cheap flights in December. The Cabinet has approved in principle the Department of Social Development and Welfare's proposal to increase the monthly pension for seniors: from 600 baht to 700 baht for those aged 60-69, from 700 baht to 850 baht for those aged 70-79, from 800 baht to 1,000 baht for those aged 80-89, and from 1,000 baht to 1,250 baht for those aged 90 and above. For the disabled, the proposal is to increase the pension from 800 baht to 1,000 baht, government spokesperson Jirayu Huangsap reported. The Ministry of Social Development and Human Security and related agencies have been instructed to fast-track the implementation, ensuring that the benefits are cost-effective, and to bring the proposal back to the Cabinet for final approval. https://x.com/ThaiEnquirer/status/1862386210603508004

  11. Don't make a fool of yourself RW
  12. Not going through all these posts looking for it. Has anyone considered transferring gift(s) to your wife or girlfriend? Up ro 20 million in a tax year is tax exempt for relatives and up to 10 million a year again is tax exempt for non-relatives on the understanding that you do not gain any benefit and it is solely not for living expenses. This would work in my case as my girlfriend has a job and she has told me on several occasions not to give her any money, but I do anyway (her savings account is very healthy). Apologies if already discussed previously.
  13. As I thought. The following is taken from a thread on March 9 last year: WrLife is their master broker behind health insurance. The coverage is provided by Thonburi Hospital Group ASIA (US$500 million in share capital) and behind them is the Boon Vanasin family. The complete handling of the insurance claim is done by AIS Thailand, 24/7 emergency, which is also backed by the Boon Vanasin family. You take out the health insurance with the master broker WrLife, who also issues the insurance policy and pays your premium: ASSIST INTERNATIONAL SERVICES (THAILAND) CO., LTD. This company will then start your insurance under Thonburi Hospital Group ASIA at the agreed time. https://aseannow.com/topic/1286249-medical-insurance-…wr-life……for-70-plus……your-experiencerecommendations/page/2/
  14. Certain members here need to grow up.
  15. Was this guy or Thonburi Healthcare connected to WRLife insurance in any way?
  16. The main problem here is that his medical condition hasn't been disclosed to the public and will probably stay that way. Will Thaksin give permission for his long term stay medical condition? Of course not.
  17. If this guy needs any further treatment and able to travel, I understand there is a vacant suite at the police general hospital.
  18. Former Deputy National Police Chief Pol Gen Surachate Hakparn could be charged with lese-majeste. The complaint was filed by Pol Col Kritsanapong Kanchaiyakit based on an incident at J A Plus Hotel in Pattaya on May 22. According to previous news reports, Pol Gen Surachate was at the hotel that day to launch a campaign gathering 20,000 signatures to submit a petition for investigating a member of the National Anti-Corruption Commission, Suchart Trakulkasemsuk, for allegedly displaying impartiality, which constitutes severe ethical misconduct. Pol Col Narongrit Wapansu, Deputy Commander of Chon Buri Provincial Police, has called a meeting for November 19 regarding the formation of an investigative committee to look into the complaint. https://x.com/ThaiEnquirer/status/1857371522991788479
  19. Thaksin's Lese-majeste case to be reviewed July next year and now this to commence February 2025, Why so long?
  20. Is the extension still being reviewed? This was 05 Nov. Today is 11 Nov. 555
  21. We must remember that all foreigners residing in this country are aware of the new tax change, i.e. those that don't view this forum or even read the news.

  23. Are we only talking about central Bangkok roads or within the Kingdom? I think we know the answer to that. Will never happen. Motorcycle riders and passengers not wearing helmets could be detained at a police station for an hour to encourage future compliance, said Transport Minister Suriya Juangroongruangkit. Suriya highlighted that road accidents are a major concern for the government, with a target to reduce fatalities to 12 per 100,000 people by 2030. The Ministry of Transport is focused on improving safety through stricter laws, higher standards for driver's licenses, and vehicle regulations in line with international norms. The Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Public Health are also working to enhance the driver's license process with digital systems and improve health screenings and driver performance assessments. A proposal is underway to include two helmets with every motorcycle purchase, instead of one, expected to be implemented soon. Additionally, discussions with police will focus on helmet enforcement. Offenders will not be fined immediately but will be asked to wait at the station for at least an hour as a deterrent. Public Health Minister Somsak Thepsuthin noted that road traffic accidents cause an average of 18,000 deaths, over 10,000 disabilities, and more than 1 million injuries annually, with economic losses exceeding 6 billion baht per year. The Ministry of Public Health plans to improve emergency medical systems and establish 24 occupational health clinics by 2025 to assess drivers' fitness to drive.
