  1. I had some photochromic window film from China but in the end decided not to use it and I went with 3M 40% block in grey. It was 12,000 baht for the whole car excluding roof. Everything in Chiang Rai is usually cheaper.
  2. He quoted me 34,000 baht to wrap it in Sub-Glacial Berry Pink (Alicar or Allcar IIRC) or 54,000 baht for another manufacturers Frozenberry (Vinyl Frog), he was finishing off wrapping an old Porsche Cayenne yesterday in the expensive Frozenberry, the cheaper one I ordered appears to be identical, possibly even a higher quality, to my eye comparing the rolls side by side, the cheaper one looks more glossy, it's PET as opposed to vinyl, whatever that means, he said it's shinier. We have two wrapping companies here in Chiang Rai, this guy has a good reputation and gives a 2 year guarantee. I used the other guy for a PPF wrap, and whilst he's a nice guy, it took him half a dozen visits to get it perfect.
  3. Meter reading in this province is always X days counting back from the end of the month.
  4. Incidentally, if the roof panel wasn't tinted, film on the inside would not make it as hot as if it were tinted. The reason being there is a reflective coating on the outside of the glass which reflects a lot of the sun, the panel being tinted will absorb a lot of what does get through and it will heat up. A film on the inside will attempt to reflect what does get through and the roof panel being tinted will absorb a lot of that again. The film on the inside may absorb some too and make the panel hotter though it will reduce the transmissible heat from the sun from hitting you. I suspect the major problem is the roof panel heating up when the vehicle is stationary, when it's moving the wind across the top will cool it. I haven't found it a problem, I think the trick is not to sit in the car if it's stationary in the sun and when you do get in, get driving ASAP.
  5. ROFLPMP, I will skip the go faster stripes, and the jury is still out on the Cyberster, I am not 100% convinced I will go through on that, let's see what the price is.
  6. It's in the shop being wrapped, it might not be ready till next Monday, it does have new gun metal finish alloy wheels on it with the original tyres, I have the old wheels in storage.
  7. Who is "we"? You don't speak for me.
  8. Do you have link for where to get those (presumably modified) .APK files?
  9. Film on the inside is likely to make the roof panel hotter.
  10. I hope Tesla have taken note of their appalling market share.
  11. I think you will find it will pull up to 32 amps, if the voltage is lower than 240 volts then the wattage will be lower. Multiply 32amps by your voltage and that is the most you can draw. If your voltage is 220 then that’s about 7kw. The wall box tells the car what is the max current it can deliver. Max on single phase is 32 amps. If you are on solar or have an automatic voltage regulator and turn your voltage up to 240v then your car will charge faster. 240v is within tolerance for a 220v system.
  12. Did you manage to get YT/YT Music working on the infotainment system?
  13. You’d be very welcome
  14. My Gate, my Garage Door & the Development's Main Gate are on eWeLink with Siri enabled, I just say Hey Siri Gate and it opens. I use eWeLink for swimming pool timer (tracking sunset), outside lights, balcony lights, boilers, Solar Power breakers, 2 outside fountains, fountain in the lake, bedside lights, exhaust fans in the roof (triggered by temperature & time of day), cat drinking fountains in both houses, garden spotlights and 6 outside chandeliers with flame effect bulbs that we run from 9pm to a tracked sunrise. As you might have guessed, I like IoT control of a lot.
  15. A bag of chocolate or a half a dozen or so Snickers bars moves mountains at Chiang Rai Immigration & dress appropriately (long trousers, shirt with a collar).
  16. I have Youtube, Google Maps, PlugShare, ChargeLoma, none of them appear to be working properly :-(
  17. it was faulty air conditioning IIRC, no fire just smoke, nothing to do with it being an EV
  18. If you google search for youtube without google play services, you will find an old version to download. I think the issue I am having is it once installed it might be scanning my 40GB of music to initalise so I need to try it on a long drive.
  19. Yes his method and password, I don't know which version of software I have installed.
  20. The SD card now contains my music and the driver recorder is still working. Following Andrew's method, I installed NetFlix, ChargeLoma, Plugshare & Google Maps. ChargeLoma won't work, it says it needs Google Play Services, whatever that is. Plugshare wasn't loading the map, that could be because the car is in the garage and it can't get a GPS fix. NetFlix won't work either.
  21. The USB Hub does not work. However, I may have a solution, the SD card used by the dashcam has folders for music etc, I'm currently copying my "Music for the Car" into the music folder, hopefully it won't affect the dashcam. Driving Recorder has so far only used 5GB of space and I only want the record to be kept for the point of an accident. I will post how I get on, it's going to take 90 minutes to copy from my PC.
  22. What the Chinese could do is look for their vehicles that go and park at Langley, then target those vehicles one by one, they would know a lot about those people, name, address, daily habits, overnight mistresses etc, lots of nice blackmail material.
  23. We all got the subsidies I think, the issue is manufacturers dropping the price after purchase, what none of us got was price protection.
  24. I have just under 40GB of songs, so I may try storing in local storage, assuming there's a bulk copy option, I'm not going to try doing it one at a time! In total I have 890GB of music, 20 years ago I ripped all my music and gave away all my CD's. I am not familiar with android, how do I sideload apps?
