  1. Is it so hard for you to read that article and say the Rabbi was wrong? I think his article is indefensible.
  2. "There will be no electricity, no food, no fuel," will be allowed to head to Gaza, ordered Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant on Monday, October 9. https://www.lemonde.fr/en/international/video/2023/10/09/israel-hamas-war-what-happened-on-day-three-of-the-conflict_6159796_4.html “Let me be clear: The use of starvation as a weapon of war is a war crime.” These are the words of UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon (2016) I think Israel has to be very careful not to sink to a level of moral abandonment and in so doing commit war crimes.
  3. Nobody would promote breaking international law or collective punishment. Inciting hatred is a crime in the UK.
  4. What we do in the UK is jail them
  5. Two wrongs don’t make a right. There’s no excuse for a man of the cloth promoting war crimes and collective punishment.
  6. Earlier this year. I watched the whole process on the TV screen, too, mildly, uncomfortable, but not very painful.
  7. i wasn’t referring to his comments on carpet bombing, if you read the article he wrote you’ll see he is describing a war crime and saying it is perfectly okay for Israelis to do that
  8. Not yet…..
  9. This guy is no better than the Mullah’s we have arrested in the UK for spreading hate speech and fundamentalist Islam.
  10. Chiang Rai Prachanakroh Government Hospital, 19,000 baht with sedation, mostly awake, at least I thought I was…
  11. You could be right, what is going to be interesting, is how those numbers change in the coming weeks.
  12. I don’t know whether the posters you refer to are pro-Palestinian. To be honest, I don’t read the posts, I find them one-sided, repetitive and argumentative. Generally I do read yours though. Regarding 7/10, and justifying or excusing, past deeds. I did neither, I simply said it helps understanding why what has happened has happened. I don’t excuse or justify it. I’m sure if the past was not as it was, we wouldn’t be in the situation of terrorists massacring Israelis and Israelis going in to find them with enormous collateral damage.
  13. Sorry if I misunderstood you
  14. Brian, it’s comments like this that damage your position. It is completely unreasonable to accuse someone of being a Hamas apologist, an antisemite or whatever because their post is balanced and objective. You made a personal attack, it was unwarranted and IMHO a mistake.
  15. It wasn’t mean as “justification” for Palestine revenge, nothing can justify it. It was meant as an explanation as to perhaps why it has happened. Regarding Black & White, there are arguments both for and against Israel’s response in Gaza. Hundreds of thousands of ordinary people are protesting across the world against it, they are not wrong, and nor is Israel wrong for doing what they are doing.
  16. I think you have to be very careful not to censor opinions you don’t like. That path is a dangerous one. There are journalists being fired because they won’t accept censorship and toe their country’s line in unbalanced reporting. We are seeing one-sides censorship on this thread more than I like. It is a fact that a lot of people support Israel in what is happening in Gaza and there are a lot who don’t. Both sides have valid points, there is no black & white here only grey. What we have seen on 7/10 and since is a direct result of history, Nekbah, Gaza, Golan Heights and West Bank. However you look at it, Palestinians have had a rough ride. Would Israel following International Law on the West Bank make a difference? I don’t know, but they should do it anyway. You don’t pick and choose which laws you follow. When you do you get anarchy and terrorism.
  17. who is off topic?
  18. The way you post determines the impact. Sometimes bias shines through in posts and it lessens the effectiveness of the message. Personal attacks do that too. Emoji’s don’t help. It is possible to change people’s perspective, but it’s only reasoned arguments that do that.
  19. No emoji needed, better impact without it.
  20. I will agree with you that it’s not difficult to understand some people by habits over time. For example confused emoji’s which tend to appear around certain members which initially might appear coincidental but over months and years shout louder than words.
  21. Try conveying actual information, it helps.
  22. I agree with most of what you said, especially the troops. Regarding “the trolls”, I don’t think you can leap to the conclusion about which side they support, as for the accelerated argument's, that is perhaps a case of action and reaction driven by anger on both sides and the desire to win, which is usually impossible here.
  23. Transam, your posts can usually be summarised as “noise”. They rarely carry any information. see what I mean?
  24. Some of you don’t help the Israeli cause by posting vitriol and personal attacks. You should keep them to reasoned arguments instead of provocations. Just because someone doesn’t agree with you doesn’t mean they are antisemitic or Hamas supporters. One poster here is mostly the voice of reason and has persuaded me that what Israel is doing now is probably the best policy, others of you just prevent that from happening to other members. You don’t have to defend “everything“ Israel is doing, it just weakens your argument, likewise you don’t have to criticise everything Israel is doing it does the same. Whilst I believe the IDF in what they say about minimising civilian casualties, I don’t believe that message has reached individual Israeli soldiers who have a history of killing innocent Palestinian bystanders, & reporters usually intentionally and without any kind of consequence. The BBC’s Jeremy Bowen said yesterday that in talking to individual captains in the Israeli army the impression he got was they wanted “payback” to use his own words. How the army behaves during this process is likely to affect world opinion, it’s naive to think reporting on what happens won’t get out. I hope the army chiefs can reign in the individuals wishing for revenge.
