  1. Safety recalls are common with all types of cars.
  2. Lots of Tesla’s in the former colonies. There is no point speculating on what maybe in the future. What maybe, maybe not.
  3. I didn’t say that, and yes son or daughter equally, the culture here is to honour your parents. That doesn’t mean they make decisions for you, but it does ring alarm bells with me if they disrespect their parents wishes, certainly I would want to know why.
  4. Transman sounds more fun. It does show older cars are more likely to catch fire, but the stats are out there and take that into account. EV’s are 10 times less likely to catch fire.
  5. OK Transman, post some credible figures stating that EV’s catch fire more than ICE Vehicles.
  6. Except it’s the EV’ers who post the links to facts and figures. The anti-EV’ers not so much.
  7. Now just remind me, what is it that is the lowest form of whit?
  8. The statistics I have already posted links to say that EV’s catch fire, 10 times less often than ICE cars and almost 130 times less likely than PHEV’s.
  9. Just because you don’t like the government published statistics doesn’t mean you ask for something that is impossible to obtain, you have already lost this argument. Just accept the data.
  10. I already posted the citation, it’s a few posts further up in this list. Actually ICE cars do catch fire when parked https://www.leamastech.com/blog/causes-parked-car-fire
  11. I do enjoy your posts, it’s good to have a really good laugh every day. I am not confused because I know it happens 10-130 times less often with EV’s.
  12. Alcohol is the typical deflection quoted by a stoner, it’s not relevant when talking about recreational use of cannabis. I am against driving whilst under the influence of alcohol FWIW. I didn’t identify as gay, what I said was “Maybe because I am gay?” Note the “maybe”. Someone “deflected” by suggesting I go in the gay forum and spout anti-gay propaganda. If recreational use of cannabis continues then at some point the police will start testing for it here. Using cannabis every other day will fail a drug wipe test, so if you use it every day, then you will definitely fail the test. In the UK police will routinely ask drivers to take a drug wipe if stopped and they have any suspicion eg manner of driving, crossing lines etc. It’s identifying any regular cannabis users who all say they can drive perfectly safely. The police advice is you can drive a car/motorbike or you can use cannabis, but not both. People are entitled to their opinions as I am mine.
  13. Deflection with alcohol is irrelevant. You are, of course, free to believe what you want to believe
  14. You don’t think saying “Try again” is insulting? At the very least it’s passive aggressive. if I am on your ignore list, then I will consider that as a badge of honour.
  15. This what I use in Chiang Rai, I bought on AliExpress shipped “Thailand Special Line” so no duty payable, it’s probably cheaper now. Switchable 10, 16, 24 and 32 amp, if overnight I do at 10 amps.
  16. This was your post, I don’t go around, insulting, posters, only when they insult me LOL, LOL, LOL. It's nowhere REQUIRED to have a typical Thai wedding, I didn't. We went to the amphur signed the paper, got a copy each and went back home. Didn't even have a village ceremony when we went to live there. Try again.
  17. I am against legalizing recreational use of cannabis but not through ignorance. Most users see their experience as a bubble, how it affects them, their lives, their friends, their relationships and work, and what they see is positive. Typically, they will say there’s no such thing as CUD/addiction, there’s no such thing as violence or crime whilst under the influence. They say this because in their bubble of normality they never see it. CUD/addiction IS a thing, it’s been identified by dozens of prestigious medical bodies and governments. It’s like saying I can drive perfectly well when drunk because I have done it dozen’s of times and never had an accident, that’s your “bubble of normality “. I volunteered one day per week as a magistrate in the UK. I saw only the cases outside of a typical stoner’s “bubble of normality” and what I saw was horrific. Lives & families ruined. I have been here almost 20 years now and my friend on the bench tells me that he is dealing with drug driving almost 100 times more often than alcohol now and people are being killed. So yes, I am against recreational use of cannabis.
  18. If you read the article, you would see that the statistics are per 100,000 vehicle sales, so the number of vehicles on the road of each type is irrelevant. Statistics coming out of China with 6 million EV’s on the road are pretty much identical. Regarding batteries, try taking a lead acid battery on a flight. Lithium batteries do get shipped, they don’t “magically” appear in other countries. It’s hardly deflection when you say that you can’t take the fuel source for an EV on a plane and I say you can’t take the fuel source for a petrol car on a plane either. I guess you do know which types of lithium batteries are safest and more suitable for hot climates? You can’t bundle all Lithium batteries in the same category.
  19. Oh sorry, I didn’t realise you had gone “off-topic”, this thread is about an American in Thailand wanting to marry an Isaan girl.
  20. Insurance premiums are not much higher, I just renewed the insurance on my daughter’s 1 year old MG EP+ for 8,800 baht. Try carrying the fuel source for a petrol car on an airplane or posting it. I haven’t seen any car parks preventing EV’s any links? https://electrek.co/2022/01/12/government-data-shows-gasoline-vehicles-are-significantly-more-prone-to-fires-than-evs/ On the EV threads here on AN this is covered in great detail. It’s an indisputable fact, EV’s catch fire between 10 and 130 times less often than ICE vehicles.
  21. You can buy a 32 amp charger (7.2Kw) on Lazada for 4-5,000 baht, it comes with a blue industrial 32 amp plug. you just need to ask a local electrician to fit you a blue 32 amp socket where you want the charger. You don’t even need to tell him what it’s for (if you do, he would probably say he doesn’t know how to install an EV wall box). He will wire your socket back to a 40 amp breaker in your consumer unit, if you don’t have an ELCB on the main breaker then he should install one next to the blue 32 amp socket. I always put 32amp plugs and sockets between the supply and the charger, because it then makes the charger portable. Should we ever sell the house, the photo attached is what I’ve done in our ChiangMai house, which is where I’m spending the weekend.
  22. I run Ubiquity networks across multiple locations in a private WAN. First thing you need to do is ditch 3BB. Let me explain why. 3BB buy from NT who own the international pipes. NT buy width from overseas (speed Tb/sec), 3BB buy volume from NT (Tb, not Tb/sec). You probably want speed and volume, you immediately have a mismatch in what you are buying and 3BB are selling. So if you buy from NT then they don’t care about your volume, if you buy from 3BB and you transfer a lot of data internationally, they lose money and they will throttle you and lower your service level. NT business contract will never throttle international traffic, 3BB will.
