Electric Vehicles in Thailand
I think their worry with solar (grid-tied) is that your supply is no longer 220v, it is up to something like 245v maybe a lot more if you have tweaked the inverters settings and it can flit between the two as clouds cover the sun. I have a 15kVA AVR for the house supply, so when the sun comes out it increases the PEA voltage but the house and EV Charger stays at 220v

I still have one of the MG wall chargers new in the box in my garage, the other one I got a local sparky to fit in Chiang Mai but with me supplying the 32 amp plug/socket combo to go in the middle. The Chiang Mai charger is wired straight into PEA's meter, on my side of the meter unfortunately, and the house wired in the same contacts.

I’m not sure I understand what is meant by “brake blending”. My experience is 2 different mechanisms, the MG4 will decelerate and regen on the power meter at upto -25%. If you use the brakes it will still regen at the max level it can, but the brake pedal is only working the brakes to increase deceleration. The Porsche Taycan has adjustments for regen on overrun but separately the brake pedal only adjust regen and deceleration up to 0.4g without using the brakes. Above 0.4g or bringing the car to the final stop it blends the brakes with regen behind the scenes and it’s so seamless you can’t tell which is which. Decelerating at 0.4g and above is uncomfortable for the passengers (but no Porsche driver cares about that!). On the MG4 I like maximum regen and drive it almost in one pedal mode, I coast to about 5 KmHr and only use the brake pedal to choose where I want to stop. Setting off if you blip the throttle it releases the auto hold brake and the car will creep forward momentarily later.

I wonder when we will start to see 12v Lead-Acid car batteries replaced with Lithium types. A friend of mine died in a motorbike accident and he was selling 12v Lithium batteries for scooters and big bikes, my two daughters have his batteries in a Ninja 400 and Honda Scoopy. The batteries have a built in BMS and are basically, fit & forget.

New public health minister walks back ‘recreational’ cannabis
I'm not convinced you could put baked beans in the same risk category. Yes smack, probably alcohol, but we can't deflect and say because of alcohol it's ok for cannabis. For sure alcohol is number 1 for anti-social behaviour.

Elon Musk’s Tesla could have dominated Thailand if he got the price right. I am sure BYD will leave him for dust.

Is it better to change money to VND in SVB or Vietnam? Or is Thai baht or US$ worth taking?

I am not sure they will come, the salespeople at MG know nothing about the product. The sales manager said she expects the X Power to come, as for the other big battery variants, I don't know. One area of concern is battery chemistry, current MG4 is LFP, UK long range cars are NMC which only get's half the charge/discharge cycles. NMC is not ideal for Thiland's heat, it's ok, you just to have live with the knowledge. The Cyberster is definitely coming 2nd half of next year.

Going off the Seal pricing, the MG4 X Power should be about 274k more than the standard, that would be 1,243,000 if old price and 1,143,000 if new price.

I am tempted to order the Performance version, the only thing stopping me is common sense, I know I should wait until I know how much the Cyberster is next year. If it's silly money, this Seal is at the top of my list. Eldest daughter wants my MG4 so I will be getting back her MG EP+ which is probably worth keeping for rainy days unless my youngest daughter wants it.

New public health minister walks back ‘recreational’ cannabis
Illusion, scouring, desperately, baseless, targeting, rubbish, trolling Are you incapable of putting forward your arguments without the support of real facts, instead resorting to egregious superlatives as if that makes your argument more convincing? ”deliberately targeting pro cannabis threads” please tell me how a thread about walking back recreational cannabis use is pro cannabis? I live in the real world, you should try it and following government advice might help you too, as might believing research by respected scientific bodies.
