  1. The ABB Terra box is very much a smart charger. If you take the cover off you will find digital interfaces and a slot for a daughter card, there is a card available specifically for Solar. You can change the charging current on the fly with this box which is needed for solar.
  2. You might like to research it. It's very much a family hotel with rabbits in the garden for kids to play with. Cabbages & Condoms is a chain of restaurants throughout Thailand run by a foundation founded by Meechai Viravaidya. Most farang in Pattaya probably don't even know about the beach it is on. It's invisible & inaccessible from Wongamat Beach, Pattaya Beach, Sugar Beach, Dongtan Beach or Jomtien Beach. It's completely invisible from almost everywhere except the Birds & Bees Resort & The Asia Hotel. I stayed at the Birds & Bees Resort in 2006 and it was instrumental in my deciding to buy some condos and move there in April 2007. Mechai Viravaidya - Wikipedia
  3. I can have one night at the Dusit plus return air fare to Chiang Rai for the same price as 1 night at the KataThani Phuket where I've gone many years in a row. I'm staying 8 nights for about the same as 2 nights at the KataThani.
  4. I think Thailand's hotel's are way overpriced, look to Vietnam, I'm heading to Phu Quoc tomorrow staying at the Dusit, my BIL is staying at Phuong Binh House Hotel for about 900 baht a night, they have some bungalows right on the beach too.
  5. Birds & Bees Resort Pattaya has 2 rooms right on the beach. and the hotel is absolute beachside with a great Thai restaurant called cabbages & condoms.
  6. I’m more worried about the poor pedestrians getting whiplash as they try to watch the superfast, EV drive past
  7. Traffic turning left has priority, traffic turning right must give way to live lane. Ask me about pulling out of a T junction turning right, that’s a doozy
  8. Indeed Czechoslovakia - Chamberlain Ukraine - Trump We know what happened next in 1939.... TeSSla 0 to 1939 in 3 seconds Trump: We have to sort Canada out, they need to mine smaller Musk: Mine Fewer Trump: Don't call me that yet.
  9. Somebody said Musk is a Nazi, I said impossible, the Nazi's made excellent cars.
  10. I think it's more likely he stepped out or even ran out onto the road, perhaps between parked cars.
  11. I have a few chargers on blue 16amp & 32amp plugs, one of them with a 10m tail on it for traveling, but mostly use the ABB Terra box that came with the car, I fitted it myself as I wanted a 32amp plug/socket between it and the consumer unit. At the Chiang Mai house we have the wall box that came from MG, it needs unlocking with an RFID card every time you use it, again, there is a 32amp plug/socket between it and the consumer unit.
  12. I know this road well, it’s very wide and straight. Hard to see how a pedestrian could not see a car from a huge distance away. I can’t help, but wonder if the dead Irishman was intoxicated.
  13. I had a Feyree charger and attached an industrial plug to it, i got the polarity wrong and it destroyed the charger. I'm not a fan of Feyree. I have a single phase 15/45 meter, I also have 18kw of grid-tied inverter and only charge when the solar is enough to make it free, I typically charge at 32 amps. Car is a Seal AWD.
  14. You have to understand the way promotion works in the police force. A new recruit is given a target of how much he has to pass up the chain of command. Anything he extorts more than that is his to keep. If he decides not to play the game then he is seldom promoted. This means all the guys a few rungs up the ladder played the game. QED all promoted police are corrupt. It’s an impossible situation to fix. How do you fix something where around 90% or more of them are systemically corrupt?
  15. There are always unnecessary problems when revenue and cost models are not aligned. The airline’s variable cost is fuel and it’s linked to weight (drag increases with weight). But it’s revenue model is PAX not weight. As someone previously stated, logic dictates the ticket cost should be linked to weight of passenger and his luggage.
  16. Airlines reserve the right to make the plus sized passenger pay for two seats.
  17. It's the MG app not the BYD app.
  18. Yes, it’s one account but I think it’s based on phone number not on email
  19. The MG app is the same. Both my eldest daughter and I have the app on our phones. I use it to see where she is which is very comforting. Occasionally she uses it to remotely turn on the air conditioning and I have to login again afterwards. When I sold the MG EP+ there was 500 baht charging credit on the app, that disappeared, presumably the new owner got it.
  20. You can always trust the Thai government to take a morally bankrupt decision, particularly when it’s profitable.
  21. I think SEER rating of 0 means they forgot to print it.
  22. I don’t have any experience with this, but I remember reading some time ago that you can pay ฿30,000 to skip the selection process, it might be worth doing that.
