  1. The ‘winning’ is showing up in American shopping baskets. Amazon have just announced they are adding a ‘Tariff Price indicator’ to products on their U.S. Platform, this will provide transparency to customers of the price increase due to Trump’s tariffs. Its a transparency the White House isn’t keen on. Walmart and Target are warning of empty shelves as Trump’s tariffs trade war continues with no end in sight. But there has been a win on paper straws. https://www.business-standard.com/amp/world-news/us-china-trade-war-port-air-freight-shipment-drop-retailers-empty-shelves-125042800642_1.html
  2. The ‘word stage’ significance of Carney’s win is he can now pursue his stated aim to align Canada with Europe, the UK Australia and New Zealand and reduce reliance on the U.S. Nations acting together against U.S. threats rather than individually. As Carney has stated, we are now in a new world order, the response needs to be to that new order.
  3. Is that you confirming 6% unemployment is a confirmation of losing and if so can we hold you to that?!
  4. So you just announced your own taste to the forum.
  5. Good riddance I’ve already stated my view that personal donations to political parties should be limited to around a maximum of £1000/year. I’ll add company donations should be banned altogether. Enough of this buying political influence, regardless of which political party is on the receiving end of the purchase.
  6. Let’s be clear. I don’t have a problem with a couple of Non Doms leaving while leaving the vast majority of their assets in the UK. The bigger question is how did two British citizens, born in the UK and living in the UK get to be non-doms in the first place?!
  7. You aren’t aware these two Livingstone brothers are in the buy-to-let business? Perhaps you think their interests in the buy-to-let business are philanthropic. As for not being aware that the Livingstone brothers made hundreds of £millions from online gambling during the pandemic, perhaps you feel a need to defend rich folk without knowing where they make their money?! https://www.knightbainlettings.co.uk/blog/livingston-landlrds.html https://www.standard.co.uk/business/livingstone-ian-richard-gaming-casino-evolution-netent-a4479091.html
  8. Did you miss this bit, or simply choose to ignore it ? In a statement, a BBC spokesperson clarified:“International journalists including the BBC are not allowed access into Gaza so we hear from a range of eyewitness accounts from the strip. These are not BBC members of staff or part of the BBC’s reporting team. We were not aware of the individuals’ social media activity prior to hearing from them on air. We are absolutely clear that there is no place for anti-Semitism on our services.”
  9. Which part of “the Livingstone brothers amassed (not created) much of their wealth from buy-to-let rents and online gambling.” Isn’t true?
  10. You can mean what you like, it does not alter the fact that the Livingstone brothers amassed (not created) much of their wealth from buy-to-let rents and online gambling. They are a couple of parasites.
  11. The Livingstones are heavily into the buy to let and gambling businesses, the money is definitely flowing from the poor to the Livingstones.
  12. I’m sure the hyper wealthy appreciate you fighting for their corner.
  13. The Livingstone brothers held ‘Non-Dom’ tax status, something that was established to address the taxation of foreign nationals moving to the UK while holding assets and in receipt of income overseas. British citizens, born and living in the UK holding £billions worth of assets in the UK from which they were deriving income yet having ‘non-Dom’ tax status is obviously ridiculous and unjust. ’The Top Brass’ don’t ’allow’ the tax laws have been written in their favour. Addressing abuse of the ‘non-Dom’ tax regulations was already an issue under the last Government, Labour are very right to continue to close these tax loopholes. The first thing to address is limit the amount anyone can pay to UK Political parties and put an end to anyone not resident in the UK donating to UK Political parties. A maximum of perhaps £1000 per year would remove the ability of the rich to buy political favours.
  14. It would be interesting to know what portion of the Livingstone’s income in rents is derived from welfare payments to their tenants.
  15. Taxation isn’t based upon who anybody thinks makes better use of the money.
  16. Money earned in the UK is taxed in the UK. How has that fact evaded you?
  17. Which hostages are being held by Harvard Iniversity? Or are you conflating issues in your eagerness to promote collective punishment of Gazans?
  18. How does Labour lose taxes on assets that remain the UK?
  19. I don’t need to. If there is evidence of laws being violated, investigate and prosecute. You know the due process and right to defense in an open court of law.
  20. Harvard’s real crime is facing down Trump’s attempt to corral universities. We expect more attacks on the university.
  21. Well to be fair, it is an opinion. Though we are not told who’s.
  22. I understand the affidavit contains allegations. The affidavit is the only ‘evidence’ presented.
  23. Sanders, AOC, Walz are speaking to sell out crowds, many of whom are Republicans. Buttigieg is making regular appearances on rightwing TV shows speaking directly to Republican voters. These are not gaining audiences on ‘not Trump’ they have a message voters want to hear. Hence the ad hominem attacks on these people.
