You can do all the Google searches you wish, I’ll stick with the official Office of National Statistics data.

I’m not sure how you determined the particular spending / saving habits of ‘Remain voters’, so I’ll leave that as one of those almost certainly unsubstantiated arguments. With regards to this claim: “ That said, high inflation is only months old. In previous years both private and public sector salary increases were out pacing inflation in a good percentage of industries. “ The ONS begs to differ, wage increases have been below inflation for most of the time since 2008: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-45875599.amp

OK so I never made the ‘bold statement’ you attributed to me. Thank you. -

Can you point out where I stated there are no pensioners missing meals through poverty? A direct quote in full please. -
Very many people in the UK work two jobs in order to get by. Nevertheless that is no protection against the gap between inflation and pay increases driving living standards down and poverty up. Hard work is no guarantee against poverty. https://www.jrf.org.uk/economic-insecurity/in-work-poverty https://www.cipd.co.uk/knowledge/culture/well-being/employee-financial-well-being/in-work-poverty/introduction#gref

Pensioners are not the subject of this thread and are in any case an example of people who are provided wide ranging welfare support. -

I’m going shopping as soon as I’ve had my breakfast, I’ll buy two lots of food. That for my own needs and the needs of those I’m caring for, and extra which I’ll drop off at the food bank on the way home. I don’t have time to volunteer at the food bank this trip, but I am making weekly donations to help out others less fortunate than myself. I’m not of the opinion posting fanciful low prices for meals on forums helps anyone.. Roll you leaves up lad, spread some of that wealth of yours. -

My prices would be just like your prices. Unsubstantiated claims. Which is precisely why unsubstantiated claims have no meaning when we have real data from Government agencies and reputable charities with decades of experience working with poverty reporting almost 10,000,000 people in the UK are not able to afford regular meals. These people haven’t suddenly become profligate, they’ve been driven into poverty by the economic mess the UK has become after almost 13 years of gross mismanagement by this failing Government. -

I’m in the UK, cooking three meals a day for myself and those I’m caring for. I do all the shopping and I only buy basic ingredients, No pre-cooked or prepared foods. The prices you quote are significantly different from my experience of the prices of preparing meals. I’ll let others draw their own conclusions. -
I look forward to Trump posting again, getting him out from under the control of his handlers is a good thing, America needs to see how far gone he is.

Getting back to topic. Has Trump started using Facebook to attack his politics rivals within the GOP or the women, and the wives of men, giving evidence against him yet?

Are you sure. I worked with a number of Israeli software engineers on oil field projects in the UAE (2017-19). If the UAE regarded Israel as an enemy it didn’t seem to cause any problems issuing ‘Oil Field Passes’ to Israeli citizens, let alone running software sourced from Israel on oil production control systems. And it certainly didn’t prevent Israel supplying food products to UAE markets either. Maybe the UAE didn’t regard Israel an ‘enemy’.

There are numerous court judgements, they are handed down every working day, tge basic principle is an act is or is not illegal. Zahawi was handed a 30% penalty. There are no penalties payable if one’s tax return is honest and compliant to the law. Zahawi was caught having evaded taxes. He’s now facing questions regarding the source of tens of millions of pounds funneled to his wife’s businesses. He’s a gem of a Tory.

It’s an expectation that is easily achieved. Inflation is measured over a 12 month period. In mid 2022 the inflation rate was calculated on the difference of mid 2021 (low prices) and mid 2022 (high prices) - large difference = high inflation. In mid 2023 the comparison will be against mid 2022 high prices. Putting aside some catastrophic event(s) inflation will have fallen, but prices will still be at their inflated level.

The electorate weren’t asked if they should fund children’s meals and heating for the poor or stuff wads of cash into the pockets of Tory chums either. -

The UK is a representative democracy. Support for Ukraine is firmly stated by all major political parties in the UK. There hasn’t been a Parliamentary Election since Russia’s illegal invasion of Ukraine, at the next election voters will get to choose again.
