  1. Trump’s supporters, both foreign and domestic, rush to defend the indefensible. As expected.
  2. Thank you for that alternative view from the alternative universe you referred to.
  3. ‘Rubio’ and ‘integrity’ don’t belong in the same sentence. Moreover, he’s only one Republican. Zelensky also met with both Democrats and Republican Senators and Congressmen who are supportive of Ukraine. It’s the integrity of the Republicans amongst them that is now going to be put to the test.
  4. In an alternative view: Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., said he had "absolute admiration for President Zelenskyy" after the meeting. "He went into the Oval Office and stood up to Russia’s best negotiators," https://www.yahoo.com/news/time-europe-step-contentious-trump-210650530.html
  5. Which isn’t what Trump is offering.
  6. That’s only one definition of evil and even then subject to a number of obvious caveats.
  7. It’s not about who you support, it’s about who and what Trump clearly supports
  8. Why would Russia be a threat to the U.S. Trump has broadcast Russian propaganda to the world from the White House. Europe and its allies are on notice, America has switched to support Russia.
  9. It clearly doesn’t exist in Trump’s White House.
  10. Perhaps Mervyn King has forgotten there is a range of other taxes that might very well be raised or indeed tax allowances that might be reduced and that Labour’s promise was not to raise income taxes for working people.
  11. Feeling aggrieved Jonny? That ‘nasty social media post’ you were referring to was actually inciting arson: Link for anyone interested in the facts as they are rather than the obfuscation you present: https://news.sky.com/story/amp/wife-of-tory-councillor-jailed-for-31-months-over-social-media-post-stirring-up-racial-hatred-13234756
  12. He’s not ‘Labour’, he has been suspended from the party, refer the OP.
  13. The House of Lords has already undertaken an inquiry and published the results in October of last year: https://publications.parliament.uk/pa/ld5901/ldselect/ldmfdo/19/19.pdf
  14. Oh look, the replacement conspiracy raises its dull head again. ’Warm sunlit uplands’ definitely didn’t put in an appearance.
  15. With each passing day the UK is looking more like a vassal state.
  16. Yes Jonny, dying embers. Nice strawman try this for scale: https://www.iea.org/reports/world-energy-investment-2024/overview-and-key-findings
  17. Innuendo again. How about the possibility that Thunberg is coming under attack with these accusations based on opinions she’s now apparently doing a good job of hiding precisely because of the opinions she’s does express against the war in Gaza and the plight/rights of Palestinians?!
  18. Yet more ill-informed garbage from Trump. https://www.economist.com/europe/2021/06/17/the-eu-made-in-america
  19. “ Thunberg has never come out and said, "I support Hamas," but she has never denied it, either.” The mildest thing I can say about that Orwellian thinking is might pass as ‘the sin of omission’. In another thread I suggested we perhaps need a standardized text condemning Hamas to be appended to any discussion on Gaza, the war in Gaza or the plight/rights of Palestinians. It’s clear we getting to the point when we do.
  20. No communication between computers has ever been in spoken language, English or otherwise. Early adopters of Internet over modem might recall the sound of the communication. This was clearly just a demonstration of a digitized, though audible, communication protocol. Not that I deny there are legitimate concerns over AI, but this isn’t one of them.
  21. Agree. The statement ‘no foul play’ would suggest an accident of some sort. RIP to a great actor and his wife.
  22. That’s a stretch of reasoning plus a very serious claim. In keeping with the instruction on backing claims presented as fact made in this news forum with credible links, can you please provide evidence to substantiate your suggestion that Thunberg wants Hamas to remain in tact: “Why else would she want Hamas to remain intact ?”
  23. That’s a very long way from even seeming to “support Hamas's savage brutal attack on innocent civilians”. It is absolutely not ‘showing support for Hamas” I’ll say again, supporting such heinous savagery would be a very serious matter, therefore suggesting such support needs to be backed by actual evidence. Likewise Hamas are a vile and heinous terrorist organization guilty of the heinous terrorist attack of October 7 for which there is absolutely no excuse or justification. Supporting such a vile heinous terrorist organization is a very serious matter, therefore suggesting such support needs to be backed by actual evidence. Make accusations of such serious matters by all means, but back it up with real evidence.
