  1. Because discrimination will lead to offense, then thinking and then the realization that they are most definitely sadly used in this country. My partner was ethnically abused in school by Thai-Chinese and Thai-Malay, they called her 'green'.

I have heard that SOME Bangkokians/ Thai-Chinese have a rather nasty saying about their fellow countryman. They say that an Issan person is happy as long as they have something to eat, drink and boomboom, everything else is mai pen rai. I think they are easily used because they are such nice and easy going people and in a sense most do just want a simple life. I do not believe the intent behind this saying is that but more than they are simpletons. Maybe the reason why that is all they care about is because they already know the dice are loaded so better to just have fun and enjoy life rather then attempt the insurmountable.

However, I and my partner do not think this is endemic whatsoever and my partner has never experienced any sort of discrimination at her office or any companies she has worked for.

it's much more complicated than that, there are days with insufficient production because of cloudy weather where power has to be bought from the grid, malfunctions, battery weardown, etc.

Does a typical system not come with some sort of emergency storage?

Am I right in saying on average do you pay for for electricity from PEA then they buy it from you? never looked at my bills 5555

Thank you so much for everyone contributing to this thread. A fountain of knowledge and great advice for my plans.

For decades the low standards of Thai education have remained hidden away inside Thailand. But now (with not only the appearance of social media but also the Covid pandemic) the Thai spokespeople are broadcasting their ignorance to the world.

It must be an unbearable loss of face for such a proud people.

I can only imagine it is quite frantic at the moment and gov statistics world-wide should always be taken with a pinch of salt. From what I can see and have heard, they seem to be doing a good job of ironing out the problems, offering solutions and getting people their QR codes before they fly, albeit in a slightly stressful fashion.

What I'm wondering is, what if you get your QR code to late?  If you had to cancel the flight you reserved?  Can you still use the code, and book another flight and ASQ hotel?

I believe you would have to apply for another QR code as the QR code is specific for the day you arrive. I could be wrong.

The logic in it has lost me: 90,000 applications and 30% approved right....so how come I am in the first 15% or so, according to their initial statement, and I still have not received a QR code after 6 days waiting patiently, but nervously. Also some posters who wrote to the MFA were lucky enough to get their QR code within 12 hours whereas I have not gotten any reply. Not lucky I guess

When are you due to travel? I have heard from one source that they are busy approving applications which are close to the travel date. If you have applied in advance then this could be the reason. Hope you get it soon.

You have completely lost your grasp of reality while continuing with this pathetic virtue signalling.

Thailand Pass is not working....  through trial and error a solution has been found, its imperfect, but its a viable plan B.

and you know this how? enough with you seriously, I am not virtue signalling, it is called being a decent member of society and not causing others problems for your own gain.

I am flying out on the 10th, filled out an application today, and received a QR code.

As we can see, not everyone is having as much luck as you and not everyone has the technical knowledge or experience to apply for things online, change pdf's to jpegs etc etc so I hardly think it is a stupid suggestion for people to allow themselves 30days to get this all done.

I bit difficult to do if travel is on 8th and the Embassy rejected the CoE and told us to use Thailand Pass when it opens on 1st - then it turns out to be a system which doesn’t function.

Then I would truly advise anyone in that situation to rebook flights, accommodation etc etc probably a pain but I reckon you need to give at least 30days just to be safe.

Crucially where are you from? As EU certificates are already getting instant accepted in most cases.

If you're not from EU though then that could be something. If it gets to a day before my flight I'd rather have the AQ pass than none at all.

I have read of a couple of EU certificates that have not got an instant QR code. I think what this all means is that you have to probably make this application with a good amount of time before you are due to fly out.

Thanks for that. Very helpful. Quick question.

    How are these submitted?

    Hotel booking? Jpg of e-receipt

Visa - image of visa or extension and re.entry?

Covid vaccine certificate. So, no ref numbers? Shoot the whole cert + QR all jumbled as multiple images in upload?

    Insurance???

Thanks for any and all. Sorry for hijack. Very informative though.

Go to the first page and Salerno posted screenshots of each section of the application. All documents will need to be in JPEG format. You will need to separately upload vaccination certificate for dose 1 and 2 and separately upload vaccination certificate QR code for dose 1 and 2. If your vaccination certificate is all on one day ie. does 1 and 2, just upload that page twice. If you only have one QR code for both dose 1 and 2, just upload that twice for both.

    Worked for me.

On the 7th try, i got the 2 QR codes for the 2 vaccinations in much better quality.  Instant approval.

I got better quality QRs by not taking pics or scans of some paper, instead i scanned the paper certificate with a QR reading app (Corona Warn app or Check DCC). The screen of the phone then showed the QR, i took a screenshot.

All other jpgs were good quality, too.

May we ask from what country are your QR codes?

Hi Salerno, I tried both Opera and Edge both went as far as I wanted, to where I was to enter personal details. I am not too sure when I will be flying yet, I'm just trying to get things lined, for when I do know. So that part is, should be OK, I believe the scary part is trying to upload the documents. Does very one have to be in PJG format from PDF? How do you change from one to the other?

I believe you can do this on a platform called GIMP (I know, funny name) or you could print everything out from your PDF files and then scan it back to your computer as JPEG.

I was wondering with the new TP rules, with the one night hotel quarantine waiting for PCR result: if you take hotel package with PCR test included, is the process transparent? Just wondering about the incentive the hotel would have to actually tell you you are positive, whatever the real result is. Guaranteed 7-10 days stuck there at the rate they impose you…

Pretty sure the test is done by the hospital and that would be totally unethical. My advice is to take some lateral flow tests with you. If they say you are positive test on your own and show it to them and then demand another PCR test.

  14. I think right now I would just settle if they gave the poor guys family a decent about of money like 100million baht. I think they got 3million baht or something ridiculous like that.

This girl killed nine people. Last I heard victims families have received no compensation, have been told if they want money to keep on fighting and she is as free as a bird oh and got married. People like this and their families will be strung up one day.

If this keeps up word will get around the internet and genuine tourists will stop trying, which might be good for me when I have to attempt it in 3 or 4 weeks.

And what's that bit about "external interferences"? Is this something like those authoritarian countries that say all their problems are caused by outside agitators and foreign troublemaking?

I would apply now but please read all the posts available and get your application right. I have heard people using hotmail accounts are not getting email confirmations so just in case use a gmail account as that seems to at least give you an email confirmation.

Here we go again.. and discrimination is the name of the game, it used to be be like this when i first arrived 35 years ago when i have arrived to this country and it's still the same... so in their logic, a Thai and a foreigner who comes to to Thailand from the same destination and under the same circumstances should be vied and treated differently.. Oh how lovely and how typical...

Well it is their country and it is not that much of a difference.......

Risk? Care to explain your comment, or are you just bashing China. Sure you have plenty of products with Chinese parts inside.

Cheap or stupid, I am neither and neither are the others who have bought one, pretty sure of that.

Yea goods that don't matter and if the parts are made in China they are made in Japanese factories to Japanese high QC.

    Car Toyota

    TV Samsung

Kitchen appliances Siemens, Electrolux and Samsung

    Aircons Hitachi

    CCTV Panasonic

The only expensive bit of kit I have from China is my DJI drone which I will agree, built to a very high quality.

Sorry, I just think it is crazy to buy a Chinese car over a Japanese car. No offense intended.
