This means either you misunderstood him or that he is an idiot.

Likely what he meant is that corporations usually change their devices when the warranty runs out, usually three years.

So, many high quality bargains come on to the market at these times. Hence fdsa's suggestion of a second user ThinkPad. You can get top of the range business laptops for a song. The alternative is plasticky, compromised consumer crud.

Big fan of old Think Pads ... I know many other have had problems with Lenovo - I would never buy a 'consumer' Lenovo .. always a ThinkPad .. I am writing this on a X201 - Upgraded with a SSD and max RAM - Had to change the fan once .... For work and graphic stuff I use a ThinkPad P50.  I would never buy a new laptop - Only second hand ThinkPads ....

I have refurbish several for friends and family over time ... Best bargain .. easy to repair and lots of good Youtube videos for strip down etc ...  Spares and multi lingual keyboards easy to find.

If you still have your old laptop - I would change the HDD for a SSD ... If the rest of the computer is ok - You will see a huge performance improvement.

Nonsense, you have fallen for the narrative, you trust those that are telling you what to do - i don't so you are condemning me, is that democratic in any manner, of course it's not, but people have been blinded! Look at the numbers, nothing adds up, see the agenda for what it is before it's too late, if its not already, your being played, like most you will refuse to accept that fact, follow the herd as you have lost the ability to think for yourself.

Sure they will be increasing the number of abortions ready to put the fetus in the the vaccinations along with the heavy metals that you all believe in! - enjoy! ????

'Conditioning' works both way me thinks ....

Never underestimate the lure of commercial greed.

Even after I was detained by China police demanding I reveal intranet passwords, my company continued to do business in China, basically because they wanted the money that was to be made. It rather sickened me a little.

I often speculated how my CEO would have reacted to being in that detention cell for 3 days!

When I went to work every day in Zhangjiang I'd pass the huge German Center, and a host of other Western company buildings. I'd wonder if any of them would have qualms about dealing with China.

And the answer clearly was NO

Well I expect your pay way good .... ???? ... as it is for most expats working in China ... and quite a few of them in China .....  I assume you did not get water boarded or had electrode fitted to precious body parts ... Detention for 3 days at full company pay .....

sorry but medical tourists and 200 elite holders wont make a dent in that 2/3rds loss - though I am sure the TAT will spin it as tourism growth

Well if one weeks 4 tourist arrive .. and the next week 8 tourists arrive and so forth ... it a week on week  100% increase in tourists returning to enjoy Thailand and spend money .... That is not spin, its just facts ... ????

Not all bread types are the same.  I only eat bread high in fiber. And with no added sugar. The Scandinavian type you will not find in the US.  Or maybe you will find it in a Scandinavian bakery.

    No brunost ???

I am getting home sick now !  That is 'real bread' ... ???? ... not the highly refined white wheat 'Mighty White' .. 'shi***e  you see so much of in other places ...

I think you must be trolling, you keep telling me there are no differences, I keep telling you there is.  Yes I've been to Walmart and Vons.

I think the point that Big Star is trying to make is that you can find the same food in American supermarkets.  I think the issue is more how its promoted / displayed which is the biggest difference between Scandinavia and US.

Last time I was in the US .. back in 2016 / 17  - You would see food adds for rubbish kids snacks and food during children's TV - You do not see that in Scandinavia - The 'nanny state' has made that illegal ;-).  TV commercials would then align with marketing campaigns at the supermarkets ...

Sometime I like what the 'nanny state' does ... ????.  Free healthcare and a general more 'equal society' is not so bad as well .... But sure is many things I do not like ... ????

  7. Not wanting to possibly confuse you even more ...  What are you bolting together? .. You may want to check the grade of the bolt - What was the old bolt holding together?

The common metric grade is 8.8 (just for any old thing you bolt together) ... anything more 'critical' .. 10.9 or 12.9 is what you should ask for - The number is embossed on the bolt head

Exactly. And when he goes off script (which happens almost daily) you clearly see that his mind doesn't contain much at all. When he has one of his stream-of-(un)consciousness speeches ramblings it's painfully apparent that he has a dim intellect, an incurious mind and the personality of a 10 year old bully boy.

Now I think you are very unfair and do not do the 10 year old bully any justice at all !

And for those who can't be bothered to read but still find it funny, 3 countries mentioned in the article, 3 quotes.

Ireland "But the Red Hand Defenders, a right-wing paramilitary organization in Ireland, still brandishes the Confederate flag because of its potent political symbolism."

Brazil "Dancers clad in antebellum and Civil War attire square dance to American country music on an enormous stage emblazoned with the Confederate flag"

Germany "For Neo-Nazis in Germany, the white supremacy embedded in Confederate iconography is useful. It’s a stand-in for the Nazi swastika, which has been banned in Germany since the Holocaust. And during Civil War reenactments in Germany, Germans who side with the South are often acting out “Nazi fantasies of racial superiority,” ".

I did read the full article .. and in some case .. it was just seen as 'American' and 'kitch' ... Anti establishment ... a rebel .. etc ...

But yes ... in 80% (?) I would say it was associated with (far) right wing.

Yes even the best fiction writer could have never imagined a character like him becoming the US president. Certainly the founders didn't imagine that someone so completely incompetent, bizarre mentally, and massively corrupt could ever be elected.

Do you remember that seen from the film - Back to the future - The main actor goes into a bar and pay with a 'modern' dollar bill ... the guy behind the bar say .. what is this ?  The reply is .. oh it will be ok in the future ..  The bar tender say .. oh yea ..so you are from the future .. Who is the president then - The reply is 'Ronald Regain' .. and we see him in a old B&W western movie on the TV behind the bar tender ... Who just laughs ...  ???? ...

How would i know how a WW2 vet would respond to the use of flamethrowers?  The two WW2 vets that i'm related to didn't use one, to my knowledge.  Though flamethrowers were widely used by allied troops during WW2.

    You stated the following:

 There is EVERYTHING questionable about using flamethrowers on ANY living creature ... ALWAYS!! under any and all administration.

I'm suggesting that the WW2 vets that did use them may disagree with your statement.

Was it not used in Vietnam as well ?

What happened to Sweden? They never had a lockdown and life went on as normal but we do not get any news about how they are doing. Just curious.

High number of old people in homes died ... I think the general feeling is that they should have protected the elderly better - They had nurses and carers who brought the virus into the homes ... That was a mistake .. They should have locked down with the elderly.

For strong and healthy people not so bad .. in therms of % death

And as has been noted several times .... C-19 is mostly the drop that make the glass overflow ... So better try and have a glass that is almost empty to allow your body to fight it better.

If anything .. The media should push the agenda of ... 'Stay healthy and live a healthy life style' to improve you chances of survival.

My local 7 11 attendant gives me the wrong change by 20 or 30 baht often. I don't know if it is deliberate or if she is dumb. She is very pretty though so I never say anything.

The perfect example of 'value for money' .....  You should tell her ... with a big smile on your face that it has been a pleasure to have been paying an extra 20THB just for the pleasure of being served by a pretty girl like you. ????
