  1. My job required flying and a friend from work who was large did just that each time she flew to her job assignment.
  2. Oh, I "can" live on it but when school fees, car ins and reg., tires and maint., come due I'm caught short at times. It costs to have a do what you want life. Trip to go cart track is 2K baht, eating out is in the 2K range and of course while at the mall spend money on something that catches your eye. Buying clothes for fam. Spend money on the house, some months I save, this month with Songkran I didn't.
  3. Time to make a move. No place is perfect. Plenty of places within a 30 min drive to Patts to live the quiet life on the beach. Utopia doesn't exist. While I haven't visited all of Thailand, I'd scratch off Isaan. Living close to Patts makes getting to Airports easy, good medical care, malls with nice restaurants and movie theaters and of course a good place to scratch an itch. Either you can afford to retire or you can't.
  4. I've got around 110K baht/mo and doesn't always cover my expenses for 3 of us with no rent or car payments. I'd be living large as a single guy.
  5. This is the reason I wouldn't ride the Seahorse with family. Regardless the vessel it's the crew that worries me. Don't think an overnighter to Samui would be carefree.
  6. Different states do it differently. I keep my class A so a bit different. Bottom line is for me keeping my DL is important. Gives me a warm fuzzy feeling.
  7. Subic City was my hangout in the late 70's. No shore patrol or Marshall Law.
  8. My father worked in a factory till age 71. When he retired he was content to just take it easy. I understand now.
  9. That's a subject that I wonder about. I grew up as an immigrant and working and saving is in my DNA. Passing down properties I own in the US to my kids is important to me. I'd like to leave the next generation in good shape even though they're both doing well on their own.
  10. I agree, thought I was the only one who thought so.
  11. And yet the biden administration wants to blame Trump. I take it you didn't watch Gen Milley testify about the withdrawal.
  12. I've posted the link twice, oh don't tell me you're not aware. Biden is CIC, time for him to accept responsibility for his "miscalculation"
  13. I apologize for having somewhat a life outside anonymous forums. I'll try and do better. But, in the end all the deflections won't absolve biden for his role in the mishandling of the withdrawl.
  14. I always do 90 day in person, Map ta phut takes longer to fill out form than checking in.
  15. I always provide a link. Biden failed, simple as that. Now he has to own it.
  16. It was a shatty withdrawl, Americans lost there live because of it and the whole world saw it unfurl on TV. Yes, Mr Biden it was your fault.
  17. When I was at DMV last time I tried using my PO Box which looks like a home address on paper. The lady looks up and casually says, so you live in a box? it was funny. I put in my actual physical address.
  18. I remember joe afterwards on TV saying basically Oh Well. Biden had months and months to come up with a plan, he failed miserably.
  19. No, biden failed. His military experts warned biden. https://www.cbsnews.com/colorado/news/afghanistan-after-action-reports-state-department-pentagon-white-house/
  20. But, not how the withdrawl was to happen. Biden didn't heed the warnings from his own generals. https://www.cbsnews.com/colorado/news/afghanistan-after-action-reports-state-department-pentagon-white-house/ Biden won't own his mistakes, he's an idiot who didn't care what happened.
  21. According to you you're 27 and you're giving your 2 cents, too funny. You know nothing.
