  1. Come to Pattaya, stay at a 5 star resort with luxurious pools and waterslides for the kids. Spend a little time at the beach, go to one of the Malls for shopping and enjoy a good meal at the many restaurants. Top notch waterslides, go cart tracks, ferry out to Koh Larn. I can see Pattaya trying to promote itself.
  2. I worked with a couple Ruskies in a factory back in the 90's. Hard workers, good family guys. They loves fixing up cars to sell. One guy would tell me stories about Russia as we worked the night shift together. He said his life was easier in Russia under Communism in some ways.
  3. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/president-biden-appears-to-freeze-at-white-house-juneteenth-event/ar-BB1o0Ntf Is that video fake? yes or no please.
  4. Bob has certain key words he uses like mate, bloody to throw people off. I know he's from USA
  5. Is that how all these new members hit the forum? Who'd a thought.
  6. You're improving Bob.
  7. The first paragraph is correct. The wolves smell the blood of scared expats. Never apologize, and that ignore function works both ways for those of us in general pop.
  8. I'm nearing the end of a remodeling project on the house so I've been house ridden for weeks. Just spending that money. You said yourself many, many retirees are PM ing you for advice. And, tell me why are so many folks concerned? It wouldn't be the months and tens of thousands of posts about the 8 month old news bite, would it? It's my opinion, which I'm entitled to express. I think I am anyway. No real discussion can be had until a definitive posting from the powers that be says exactly what the law is to be and who it effects. Then you add to the mix the number of countries these expats are from, what like 15 major countries or more. So, as another poster stated this long lasting discussion is perhaps doing more harm than good for the expats here in Thailand. I also understand for some this discussion is a great past time, especially those who spent their lives behind a desk reading dull papers.
  9. I'm just curious as to how many expats living in Thailand are tax refugees. Those guys who don't pay taxes in their home country perhaps could be hit with a Thai tax. I'm willing to bet that most expats are just guys with some forms of pension and some extra investment money which most of us claim in our home country. It's my opinion, which by the way I'm entitled to have that there's a few folks who really stoked the fires early on in this discussion. And, they really don't like anyone who disagrees to the point of name calling. Very childish I might add.
  10. This reminds me of the article about new MC license for big bikes (over 400cc) becoming mandatory. It's basically the same thing. Perhaps I should keep calling the land Office to find out more info.
  11. We're all performers in this circus of a forum. Some are more proliferate than others.
  12. The expats here are burning their own house down thinking and worrying about this tax thing. It's the foreigners who are causing the hysteria.
  13. But you have some here who are bound and determined to start paying taxes to the point of calling the revenue dept to inquire for the paperwork. I've spent an oodle of money here, bought property, have a kid but I have options.
  14. Was just thinking about the old days. Pulling into Subic Bay 1970's with Grande Is. to starboard, you could smell the PI. Exchange rate was 7 peso to 1 usd. When you walked across the bridge leaving the base you had the young ladies in a small boat with a net catching coins from the sailors. Magsaysay was pulsating with live bands every night. Monkey meat on a stick everywhere. The American Legion is still there, but a shell of it's former self. back in the day it was off limits to single women so you were safe there sitting on the balcony overlooking Magsaysay, it had chicken wire wrapped around the outside. Good times.

  15. Faith is a wonderful thing, all thee best.
  16. What happened to the good old days? When everyone believed whatever a Dr said without question.
  17. I'm in total agreement. But, in all fairness their probably is a large group of expats who have put all their eggs in one basket and walk on eggshells here.
  18. Get back to us on that.
  19. Who's the lucky fella? Is it one of your LB's?
  20. So, you're saying the video of Biden freezing for 30 sec is a fake? Have you seen the real one? If so where? Real simple, I would love to see the "real" one or perhaps you're just mimicking the WH response.
