  1. My main objective for keeping my US RE is for the kids and it pays a bit of money but not much after repairs, taxes and insurance. It also gives me a foothold in the country I consider my home.
  2. Whoever said there's no Biden Cult is surely mistaken.
  3. Actually, this is a good thread that can create some useful discussions. Those guys who sold everything and left the USA for Thailand in all probabilities can't ever afford to return to their place of home. I made a home here in Thailand before retirement complete with homes and a kid. All the while maintaining and renting out properties in Ca. There are things I miss about home like camping at the reservoir with a sailboat. Projects I never completed, so many places I never visited in the US even though I traveled the world for many years. I maintain my driver's license and car sitting in my garage back home. Just because it makes me feel good. I don't think I could completely cut the US loose.
  4. Seems like DEI is going to sink the Dems. Go girl.
  5. It's a bit ironic that Thailand would like to be considered a family destination but putting 2 large beds in one room seems to be hard to manage for most places. The 5 star joints on Samui are in the 10K/nt for a 3 person room. I settled for a 4 star 2 bed suite on the beach for 7K/nt.
  6. I like free, what's a good one to try?
  7. The only message biden has for the voters is fear. That's his entire platform right now. I just love the way biden brought the country together.
  8. I ask you: Is this the speech of a rational human being? Why isn’t the media reporting on Trump’s growing dementia? | Opinion (msn.com) This is how the left tries to misdirect what is going on with the current sitting president.
  9. Very nice, time to spend is now.
  10. Lay off the naughty things Bob, last time your net worth was 800K.
  11. Get your freak on, my man.
  12. Bob Would you please put some clothes on.
  13. I agree, but also today's youth have been shielded from doing hard work. I built my money by 12 hr days 7 days a week for months at a time away from home. I saved, no new cars, spent money on real estate. Today's kids are unwilling to do brutal hard work for a paycheck.
  14. Forthcoming......hardly https://www.msnbc.com/top-stories/latest/biden-neurologist-white-house-parkinsons-rcna160839 Hours after a White House press briefing turned combative over questions about a neurologist's repeated visits to the White House, President Joe Biden's physician said that those appointments were not related to the president.
  15. One of my investment firms have sort of stopped me from doing business online from Thailand. A VPN could be the answer. Any recommendations, as I really don't want to download destructive trash to my laptop.
  16. Now when posters speak of the orange man, they'll have to be more specific.
  17. Is getting a VPN a free service or a yearly service fee??
  18. Joe's gender fluid.
  19. I've been seeing Florida is having some costly readjustments to Homeowner insurance, property tax increase and HOA dues. I own multiple properties in Calif and the one big reason for not selling and buying elsewhere is property taxes. Because for all it's faults Ca still has relatively low property taxes for longtime owners. I was recently in Florida and while it's nice, it would take some time to adjust to the people there.
  20. It's fun to visit the big city, but always....always I'm so happy to escape and get back to a simple slow paced lifestyle.
  21. Trump is an entertainer first and a politician second. It's been awhile since that spiel, where you been?
  22. These friends you speak of.....they are old retirees are they? Or are they younger foreigners who work here in Thailand? See that's an apples and oranges comparison. Is a 65 yr old guy going out searching for a 65 yr old Thai lady? I think not. Normal couples?? See I stopped thinking or caring what others think of me, it's called maturity. You're going to have the thoughts of others dictate where you live? really?? Now, why do retirees get married in Thailand? I have no clue, except stupidity if you don't have kids together.
  23. Why ffff? Going to the trouble of getting married is just too much hassle. Been with my lady for over 15 yrs. have a kid, 2 houses, land, cars, MBs. My only suggestion is if you do settle on one lady, don't settle down in her village. Go where you would like to live. I would have been down the road long, long ago if it wasn't for the kid's sake. I know, I know most all expats marry an edumacated young lady who truly loves you and her family don't ask for anything. That's the story all to many old guys here love to portray. Sitting in the bank waiting my turn, I spy a typical couple......an older guy with fresh cut and dyed hair, new clothes and his young teerak sitting with her phone and freshly purchased gold bracelets and necklace. You know he took the bait.
