    One of the great ironies of this kerfuffle is the fact Muslim laws on abortion are far more liberal than right-wing Christian nationalists. A pregnancy can be terminated up to four months, when the fetus is considered to acquire a soul. Perhaps that's a ridiculous belief, but IMO no more addle-pated than the concept male clerics, politicians and lawmakers have any right to tell women what to do with their bodies.

    Putin knows if Harris wins, he is history. Even long-suffering Russians will have had enough, without the oligarchs watching their wealth melt like snow in the Sahara. Putin is facing internal revolt. Trump is facing jail. There's a lot at stake for both.

    Judging by the rhetoric on this thread, America is close to civil war. Irrespective of who wins. Trump gets elected. Orders the military to put down insurrection. Harris gets elected. Orders the military to put down insurrection. Which leader is the military more likely to obey?

    Many Thai vets subscribe to the Buddhist concept taking life is a sin. The city vet is obviously one of them. I had a similar situation with our dog DorHu, who was suffering terribly from cancer. I wanted him euthanased, my GF did not because of her beliefs. You need to find a private vet who is willing to euthanase your dog. Some beliefs result in unnecessary suffering.

    Reading through the links provided, several of the protests were described as peaceful and non-violent. Did you bother to actually read the articles, or did you just seize on the headlines? Typical Trumper dishonesty.

    Trump is on record as soliciting $1 billion from the fossil fuel industry in return for no regulation. The world might not end, but it will be a damn sight hotter. Hurricanes Helene and Milton will be mild summer breezes compared to what's waiting in the wings.
