Australian Aged Pension
Lacessit replied to VOICEOVER's topic in Australia & Oceania Topics and Events
I submitted a non-lodgment form in July, based on two previous returns where I either got a refund, or paid no tax. I have been in Thailand since February 2020. Due date for submitting tax returns is October, thus far I have heard nothing. Perhaps it is not due until March next year, when tax accountants are scheduled to submit returns on behalf of clients. If I get through to April next year without any communication from the ATO, I will conclude the resident troll is talking out of his a##e. -
That is rather a broad brush you are tarring Russians with, it's like saying all Americans are gun nuts. There was a pretty large number of Russians who left there when the war started, referred to as the brain drain. Leaving now does not necessarily make them lowlifes, just slower to catch on. You can bet if I was being at risk of being sent to a war with next to no training, inferior equipment, and lousy military leaders I'd be wanting out too. IMO that does not make me a coward.

What is the biggest mistake in life ?
Lacessit replied to Social Media's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Having any relationship in a Western country longer than 12 months. A less expensive mistake is buying a house here for a Thai woman. -
It could be worth checking how many Russians have return flights to Moscow, IMO some may be flying to Thailand to avoid being conscripted. In which case, they are on the side of the angels.

That's already happened in Australia, a Polestar EV was driven across the Nullarbor, accompanied by a truck with a diesel generator on board for recharging. But don't worry, the fuel for the two diesels was environmentally sustainable - recycled oil from fish and chip shops in Perth.

Longer term, it sets you up for Type 2 diabetes. Feeling wobbly and nauseous is the result of what you did last night.

Perhaps that's where the expression "no money, no honey" came from.

None. A haven for sugar and carbohydrate junkies. Possibly the only product in there that can be remotely described as healthy are the probiotics, and even they have sugar.

Another expert at begging the question. I will leave it to other posters to decide who is wrong, or whether what I have posted is relevant, if they can be bothered to follow our rather tortuous exchange.

Perhaps I should have said the 2022 MG EV has V2L capability.

Using a new agent for renewing retirement visa
Lacessit replied to DomD's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
The agent is not renewing her visa, he is doing a retirement visa extension. Provided her financials are in order, it would be 1900 baht for the extension, 1000 baht more IIRC for a single re-entry permit ( if needed ). It's just a matter of getting all the paperwork correct. The agent is most definitely a crook, 45 K is daylight robbery. This is my checklist, current for Chiang Rai Immigration. Thanks, ubonjoe. Retirement extension documents: TM7 + 1 Passport photo. Obtain form from Immigration, blue biro. Bank Letter. Bank statement, 6 months duration. Bank Book updated same day. Copies of all pages of bank book. Copies of last extension + front page of passport, plus all stamped pages. Ensure hidden stamps are copied, and copy foldovers. 1900 baht Keep 1900 baht receipt, needed when collecting passport if left there. ( Blue colour ) Monday and Wednesday only. Multiple re-entry permit: TM8 + 1X Passport photo. Copy of updated retirement extension. Expect to fill out at least one new form. Remember to paste in the photos on both forms. Sign everything on all pages. -
What do I need for the bed of my pickup?
Lacessit replied to alien365's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
Tradies in Australia usually have large locked boxes to protect their tools and equipment. Here, if the OP wants to use a tonneau cover, I'd suggest only putting in stuff that is not worth stealing. A tray liner is good for abrasive loads such as bricks and firewood. I would recommend putting in a fairly heavy load, the spring setups of pickups are designed for them. Leave the tray empty, the vehicle will be bouncing around on any rough roads like a pea on a drum. -
Try reading your own OP, and show me where you make any statement about the number of nights you were staying at either hotel. I am simply pointing out at 10,000 baht/ month, the average daily cost of a more spacious apartment is approximately 330 baht/night. If you want to move around a lot to avoid debt collectors and enraged husbands, I understand.

Some EV's have the capacity, IIRC it's called V2L. Effectively, the car can act as a storage battery for a home, just like a Tesla PowerWall, but on wheels. I think the MG EV has the required kit for transfer.

Presumably you were asleep in maths class when the topic of extrapolation was taught.
-
So are you, a deflection. IIRC, the debate started concerning the efficiency of fossil-fuel powered electricity generators. Which, if my math is correct, is still 61% of all power generation. I can read and comprehend the first time around, no need to repost a link. BTW, the proposition natural gas is a cleaner fuel than coal and oil is false. Natural gas does not come out of the ground in a pure state, it is usually accompanied by up to 40% of carbon dioxide. Just thought I'd save you from posting another BS statement.

The OP was paying 16,500 baht/month for a room without a kitchen, changed to one costing 14,100. Calculated on a 30 day/month basis. Most condos will rent by the month, usually apartments are bigger and better equipped. Power and water is usually about 600 - 800 baht/month. I can rent a condo in Jomtien or Pattaya for 10,000 baht/month, even less in Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai. The OP is talking about Thai business sense? LOL.

I suggest you educate yourself on what engines do, and post data on the efficiency of an ICE to support your argument. Power stations and ICE's both burn fossil fuel to generate kinetic energy. In a power station, that kinetic energy is converted to electricity via electromagnetic induction of a dynamo. In the ICE, the energy is transferred via mechanical linkages to the wheels. I quote from the link you posted. "Typical thermal efficiency for utility-scale electrical generators is around 37% for coal and oil-fired plants,[8]" And from Wikipedia: "In 2008 to 2015, GDI (Gasoline Direct Injection) increased the efficiency of the engines equipped with this fueling system up to 35%.[citation needed] Currently, as 2020, the technology is available in a wide variety of vehicles." I also quote from your post: "And yes, power stations are more efficient than internal combustion engines." This is known as begging the question, or circular argument. The fact you are asserting something does not make it so. Noted the information on Mae Moh was left to go through to the wicketkeeper.

This report says absolutely nothing and has no data concerning the relative efficiency of power stations and ICE's when both are burning fossil fuels. You are correct in saying an EV is much more efficient than an ICE when it is fueled by renewable energy. Mae Moh supplies the majority of electrical power in Northwest Thailand. It generates electricity from lignite, the dirtiest fossil fuel on the planet. It is currently expanding capacity. Lignite has to be chemically treated first, to remove impurities such as arsenic. The incoming fuel contains approximately 32% water. This power station is converting such fuel to electricity more efficiently than an ICE burning straight diesel or gasoline? That has to be up there with some of the most ridiculous and stupid propositions posted on ASEAN. I suggest you post facts, not your beliefs.
