  1. If you don't want to rent, a decent house, small car and health insurance with an international company (important) are the basics. 6 million Baht to kick off the first year. If you have a Thai wife you will pay 3 times as much for the house as Thais only want to buy new property so new house prices are ridiculously high. Eat Thai food eat cheap, eat farang food eat expensive. A house in a housing development usually means fees every month.
  2. It would be great to have more than one farang station here, although Surf is pretty good. I try Thai stations, looking for old Thai songs, but there are so many long and loud voice interruptions (lottery results, long and loud childish ads, etc.) that even presetting five stations in my car still means I'm usually manually scanning for a different one, as after one or two songs I'm just listening to shouting.
  3. I've had mine for 7 years. Never a major issue until this year some idiot put jump leads on wrongly and blew my alternator. I'd buy another.
  4. For me it depends on actual age. A 65 year old man with a 35 year old woman, I think it's fine. If she's 20 then I'm uncomfortable, but it's not my business. I hope daughters could be understanding up to a point. My wife of 45 years died three months ago. I try not to let on to women as they can be quite predatory here (and I understand that). I'm talking professional women, not bar girls, who also of course can be nice or not.
  5. I think most people who use that emoji aren't confused by the post, they just feel it's dumb or wrongheaded. If there was a face-palm emoji they'd probably use that's instead.
  6. "Ho?" I think your skull is thick boned too.
  7. I REALLY can't understand why some people put a 'confused' emoticon under your comment. It scares me.
  8. Same here, always refund to my bank account very soon after dropping the return at the post office. I always make detailed complaint on the website when I register the return. Another thing is to talk to the seller online before ordering to try to confirm the item/item count is exactly shown in the photos. It does help to avoid disappointment, not always though.
  9. Naturally grown Aquilaria trees take 5-7 years to produce the Agarwood, it is costly to produce Agarwood when you go toward cultivation. If you can bear the cost of cultivation, you can produce Agarwood in a shorter period. If you go toward cultivation, you can earn quickly, and your cost will be recovered in a shorter period because there is a huge market for Agarwood in the world and I believe supply is falling.
  10. The breeder? Yes if breeding for aggression that shows some mental problems indeed. A dog born with mental issues? I fail to see the relevance. Abberations are definitely irrelevant.
  11. All terriers were first bred for tenacity and aggression. That's proof that it can be bred out.
  12. Happy Toilet (I know, that's the Sukkiri brand name!) quality is very good. I discovered them in 4 star Bangkok apartments. And I know they work well, hitting the spots to speak! They do a cheaper model I think, with just one nozzle. ????
  13. So how did they all live together? Pitbulls, like any dog can be bred by professional breeders for good temperament, though with some breeds like Pitbulls, Alsatians, etc. There will always be some nervous aggression remaining, yes, it's in the genes. I doubt the ones in this article were bred to be home companions though.
  14. I fully recommended Tokyo Sukkhiri loo seats, non-electric washing with nozzles for male and female anatomy, that model 6000 Baht, there's a 10,000 Baht one, must be gold plated.. Just use the wall tap your bum gun also uses (can fit a two way adapter to keep both working). Controllable power and comfortable, no twisting and bending like with the gun. Buy direct from them online (good service) or Shoppee, etc. I really think they're the best.
  15. Yes that's the way. Works well.
  16. I made an illegal u-turn on a big road in BKK I didn't know it but after I saw that was correct. The BIB that flagged me down had it already sketched out on the back of his pad. Obviously his regular tea money earner. He said fine was something like 1500 Baht, how much I pay him. I say forget it. He said OK I give you ticket. I said OK do it. Back and forth a couple of times, and also firmly get him to give me my license back. Ends up I give him just 100 Baht just to get on my way back to Hua Hin (I almost just handed him 50). I'm a pragmatist, and I win on the shonky legal system here far more than I lose, so all good.
  17. Yes I meant 'at least one hole' (vocalised with stress on 'least', and with a risung tone on 'hole'), and which I'm guessing that you guessed. But fair play, my reply was imprecisely worded, I concede.????
  18. Two very childish posts in a row. Well done you. Small increases in registrations year on year are all that will be seen until purely selfish benefits of owning electric are more apparent, or regulations finally prohibit purchasing of petrol vehicles. Whichever comes first. Sorry for not posting a dozen smilies at the end of this message, but I'm hoping you'll still be able to understand it. ????????
  19. OK. If we're playing silly bggrs, why? The inconvenience of mileage range, lack of charge points in some locations or difficulty planning to visit them and hoping they're not already being used, , the hours breaking your journey to recharge,...
  20. Would anyone here who regularly makes long overland journeys seriously consider an electric car as their only vehicle by choice? Serious question. I'd rather eat Soylent Green if we're talking environmental concerns.
