Yingluck or Michelle Yeoh? Netizens debate who's the best looking
Speedhump replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I get so <deleted> off with someone who replies first, saying 'oh here we go', so jaded, and so judgemental (I know if someone's judgemental just by looking at them....). I'll bet when they have sex even before penetration they say "well, this won't be much fun". -
I think bar girls refer to them as 'ATMs'.

Hatred of women? Where do you see that? What's wrong with you? Are you Gary Lineker, jerking off to your white knight complex? -
Just the bit that offended him, nothing germane to the subject. It's quite pathetic that anyone who writes disagreeing even slightly with someone who makes a blatantly racist comment (in this case: 'typical of Thais, trying to deflect blame') is always accused of 'defending Thais'. Low-born and uneducated Thais behave and respond in exactly the same way that similar people in New York or London or Melbourne do. Some are offensive. Most are fine. There are many bigots in the world, it's the law of averages that some of them will subscribe to this forum. That doesn't mean that their racially-motivated insults should be ignored.

If someone screamed unexpectedly at me I could certainly lose my concentration through shock. Why is that hard to believe? I don't even know if that happened here, but that's not what your saying, is it? Anyway, it's utterly insane that because I said it's wrong to single out Thai people for being a nation that tries to deflect blame more than others, that I'm then accused of defending this driver. Some members of this forum really are hard of thinking....

Whoops! Avoiding cultural faux pas when visiting Thailand

No, it's sometimes just jewellery, sometimes a display of their faith. Not an amulet. -

"Else Majesty" ???????????????? -
Totally true, ignorant but unrepentant foreigners are very often insensitive to local culture all around the world. Europeans wearing skimpy beachwear to the mall in the UAE for example. It's illegal, but security guards rarely say anything. It's usually an old local lady who will shout at them eventually. Also I had words with a Chinese man shopping topless in Lotus Hua Hin a long while back. Not my job I know (I'll say it before the usual fools jump on me), but I was actually offended.

I forgot how much you like to quibble. Do you see the name of the establishment? No. Do you see the name of the owner or manager? No. Do you see any names of those involved other than the person attacked. No. Do you see any names of the collection of other local business owners who have rallied around to close this n matter down quickly? No. The media got a sniff of the matter but don't have these details because they have been kept quiet. Shhh. So just leave it, eh?

Tourist Takes Action For Being Slapped, Handcuffed By Pub Guard
Speedhump replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
And where exactly does it say he's seeking damages? It doesn't.... He's seeking justice and a lesson learned by over-zealous private security goons. ???? -
I think the word 'many' is completely wrong. I know 'many' farang here, and I don't know one that outwardly displays any worries of inferiority (which is the word you were looking for). They all seem quite at ease in their dealings with Thais. Perhaps you meant to say 'some', and to qualify it with the fact that you're not speaking from personal wide experience of seeing farang being nasty to Thais....
