I was just thinking one requires a secretary to manage all these reporting requirements..
visa, visa extension, reentry permit, 90 day report, tm30, passport, tm6, financial requirement, work permit, etc
..each one is a pain in the backside, how can anyone be expected to always get this right, it’s like spinning plates they keep adding more hoping you’ll drop one or two to pay a fine or be evicted.

The op has what I call verbal posteriaitis
another person who thinks everyone travels to Thailand for one thing only
i can’t even be bothered to explain how long it takes to wind down a business, sell a house and prepare visas for family to travel and settle elsewhere
i bet the op doesn’t have any of these responsibilities to manage and I bet he/she thinks that is cool. An adult with a child’s mindset.

The window has 1mm clearance top and bottom. Perhaps the clearance is slightly less. The lip on the inside, is 1 inch high. Someone needs some chamomile tea and a hug.
I first wondered if the windows were designed that way and not to come out on the high rise condos so that people don't accidentally fall out of the window when cleaning them...
...then after a few seconds I remembered that I was in thailand and this was an absurd thought to have..
..be safe!

In that case there is a special key you can use..

Why do you want clean windows they would stand out like a sore thumb in Bangkok.????
There must be some way to take the window out of the frame. Have a look around the edges of the window to see if there is a screw to adjust how it sits in the frame, maybe adjust it to remove the window.
Although a dust cloth and a coat hanger might be just the trick.
(or find someone with very long arms) ????

3 years of a shambles - any private sector business making such a mess over three years would be bankrupt long ago.
Just get on with it so we can start to get a decent exchange rate again!!!

Its not surprising things will begin to go southwards with Transferwise, two of the founding members of PayPal are now major investors in the company. Remember what happened to paypal when they began limiting accounts and holding funds for 6 months without explanation and banning people without explanation.
I hope Transferwise don't go down that route.

Go to a hospital, get tested then talk with the doctor about options. I suggest one of the larger hospitals like Samitivej, Bangkok Hospital and BNH (expect to pay a premium though).
Others might have more information.
-
Just contact Transferwise, they might just require evidence of business (copy invoices etc)

The no deal Brexit has already been factored into the GBP so it likely wont change much unless there really was a no deal on 1st November.
If there is a deal at the last moment though watch the GBP rise quickly to 42/43 THB = 1 GBP

I expect topics of conversations among old expats something along these lines:
- I need to buy good quality set of open-end wrenches -- NOT made in China?
- My car has been in the shop for 3 weeks already. How can I get them to speed up the repair?
- I keep getting headaches from street food. In Thai, how do you say, "Don't put any MSG in my food." ?
- Is it worthwhile ordering on Lazada -- or just too much trouble?
- What's happening at your condo with any Air BnB checkins?
- What's been your experience with Grab? Do you find private cars better than taxis, or the other way around?
- After all these years, my Thai language is still pretty thin. Should I take some classes?
- Restaurants with good "home style" meals are getting harder to find. Any recommendations?
- Have you tried the grocery delivery services from Villa, TOPS, Lotus, and others?
And, finally, on a really positive note, I will reveal my secret source of top quality hamburger in Bangkok. (Note: It's not cheap, and I will only reveal it in person, not on any public forums. In fact, thinking about it now, that would be a good location for a lunch meeting!)
.
Im not old so I probably don't pass your meet up entry requirements although I will try to help by responding here..
(sorry couldn't resist)
- I need to buy good quality set of open-end wrenches -- NOT made in China?
> Wrenches or wenches? Regardless the better ones are surely made in Thailand?
- My car has been in the shop for 3 weeks already. How can I get them to speed up the repair?
> Instead of parking in the car park and walking away, also tell the mechanics you want the car repairing.
- I keep getting headaches from street food. In Thai, how do you say, "Don't put any MSG in my food." ?
> Mai tong sai guer krap, pom pen oan man moo leaw ????
- Is it worthwhile ordering on Lazada -- or just too much trouble?
> it depends if you are too old to know how to operate a computer or not?
- What's happening at your condo with any Air BnB checkins?
> Im considering starting an AirB&B business, its all the rage you know and VERY profitable too!
- What's been your experience with Grab? Do you find private cars better than taxis, or the other way around?
> I always grab my own private vehicle and cruise around town in my own private vehicle.
- After all these years, my Thai language is still pretty thin. Should I take some classes?
> No. If you havn't learned anything after all these years dont waste time now, just accept you might be a slow learner, you'll get by in any case. ????
- Restaurants with good "home style" meals are getting harder to find. Any recommendations?
> Yes my Thai wife makes a really nice home style Thai meal. She's Thai you know, Thailand is our home.
- Have you tried the grocery delivery services from Villa, TOPS, Lotus, and others?
> No. I could never be that lazy.

A lot of posts on this forum are laughable. There is some delicious and healthy Thai food available.
The spicy salads are incredible and curry's delicious. I obviously eat at different Thai places than the people slating the food as tasteless and unhealthy.
Somtam thai and a spicy pork and basil with boiled rice dish shared and mixed on a plate is delicious and much more healthy than your regular western stodge dish.
Probably cheaper too.

I know a guy who has HIV. Fortunately for him medication has stopped the disease from becoming full-blown AIDS.
That the fact that science has developed these drugs gives a lot of hope to people who are infected.
Because the virus can be controlled using modern treatments and not passed on once on treatment, part of the problem now is the outdated stigma that is associated with the virus because of untrue things like posting silly unrelated images in the Nation article of a guy with a spotty back or using made up terms like 'full blow Aids' where maybe 'Aids' or the modern term 'advanced HIV' would suffice.
These are just examples of unnecessary, misleading an sometimes false terms and images..
Is this term you use 'full blown' like 'full blown diabetes' is to diabetes?
Or maybe similar to 'full blown heart disease' is to heart disease?
Or 'full blown influenza' is to 'influenza'
Or how about 'full blow silliness' for using these terms and unrelated images.
Try and not to get too exited about hiv articles as to use these made up terms then you wont become part of the problem.

100k is 400% more than it should be.
I paid 25k and that includes final accounts and final audit. The accountant is a Thai accountant who doesn't necessarily advertise specifically to foreigners.
PS - See this thread..

Its a gamble because of Brexit - if there is a deal the GBP will jump up a few points immediately.
If there is no deal it might drop a few more points.
if there is a delay it will probably stay around the same.
In either case you'll get the best rates for cash in Thailand at the 'SuperRich' money exchange places. (it has to be a super rich though not any old exchange counter)
Please let us all know what you think of the prices in Thailand these days compared to the UK after your holiday.

I received the password for the Section 38 online app 'yey'
The problem with the online app is that there are no notifications to let the user know what is going on throughout the process.
- First I downloaded the app and applied and submitted the forms.
- Then I got an email to say I need to confirm email address. After confirming email address I had to wait about 10 days to get another email saying my account is approved now I need to wait for username and password.
- About 3 weeks later I received the username and password.
- During all this time there is no 'notification' or message to correctly display the steps and the process and the potential delays so its easy to see why so many people think this doesn't work.
I deleted the app several times during this waiting time thinking it didn't work, until I got these intermittent messages and downloaded it again.
Also the emails can go to your spam folder too so that also may confuse some people.

It used to be ‘I can do’ but that’s all changed even for Thais trying to get things done.
For example i hate going into a Thai bank these days I’m sure to be told ‘cannot’
..even if I said ‘do you breathe oxygen’ the clerks answer would be an automatic ‘cannot’
