Thailand’s dual pricing still gets everyone posting
SAFETY FIRST replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
It makes sense to me, charging foreigners for extra. I worked offshore, Songkhla for a few years, my salary was more than 10 times the salary of a Thai.- 123 replies

This has been happening for many years, covid quietened down things when the boarders were closed but now the floodgates have opened, new Thai/Saudi relationship etc. Expect more of this bad behavior. I'm OK, I invested heavily in Arab Town recently after reading all the news reports, the dividends are paying well for me. ????

Thailand’s dual pricing still gets everyone posting
SAFETY FIRST replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I like the dual pricing. It's different to living in Australia, that's why I live in Thailand, it's nothing like Australia. Thank God ???????????????????????????? The author Michael Bridge, just stirring the pot, getting the moaners on board to react. ???? Racism? Maybe so, I'm always getting complements from the Thai's regarding my fair complexion and green eyes, how dare they. ????- 123 replies

Is it legal to film police officers in Thailand?
SAFETY FIRST replied to FarAway's topic in General Topics
Agree. Some people amaze with with their obsession to expose themselves to unecessary hardship. Little things like you mentioned, they're ready to react in an aggressive way, shoving a camera in another person's face to protect their rights, it's attention seeking. Who would want to be a cop, having to deal with these crazy people daily. I'm the guy that prefers to stay under the radar. Especially in Thailand, there are different laws, cultures, a little bit of corruption money etc., if that's what it takes or what I must pay, this minor inconvenience, to put up with to live in this beautiful country so be it. I reckon if the OP wants to start recording the cops for different issues, Thailand is probably not the place for him. I see quite a few videos of people filming the cops on the internet, what do people see in antagonizing a cop, are they getting enjoyment, maybe getting sexual pleasure, there are some strange people in this world. Sadly too many of these strange types are coming to Thailand. -
This would be the last straw, can't stay if the chicky babes are doing it for you. Come over to Pattaya, lots of beautiful young ladies here. Anyway, too many Dodgy people in Phuket. We don't have those types here in Pattaya.

No problem, Thailand has plenty of police to go around. There are currently about 230,000 police officers in Thailand. Thailand has about 340 police officers per 100,000 people. This ratio of police officers is much higher than that of neighboring countries such as Myanmar and the Philippines. It is about 1.5 times that of Japan and roughly equivalent to that of the United States.

I'm not surprised. Construction workers pound concrete pylons into the ground, the force and impact shakes the ground for many meters. Do like they do in Australia, drill a pier hole and fill in with concrete. The drill is not harmful, it won't destroy surrounding dwellings. It's also neighbour friendly. Geeze, I remember when I first arrived in Pattaya, staying in my apartment, next plot they were driving these concrete pylons in for weeks, had to spend most of the day in the bars, probably why my liver is not doing too well these days. Get with the times people.

Dangerous and selfish trucks
SAFETY FIRST replied to AustinRacing's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
These can be useful if the truck has been off road, a muddy area. They often throw up stones and mud, these large flaps stop the debris flying up at vehicles traveling behind. -

This is nothing new. The cops are always on the lookout for modified vehicles (cars or bikes) any modifications. You'll get a ticket if you drive a non standard vehicles on public roads -

Stay under the radar mate, enjoy your time in Thailand, you don't want to end up in the Bangkok Hilton. If you're prone to getting in trouble with the law, Thailand is probably not the place for you.
