  2. Had a Halloween party ( it was held at different friends houses every year). Talked to all the neighbors within noise range as well invited them if the wanted to come to the party.

One neighbor called the polce (its wa ps probably 10:00 PM) most of the people at the party either were attorneys, worked for court system or a police with a few of us others as well. Police came said lower the music if we come back the owner of house goes to jail.

A district attorney talked to the police trying the DA influence. They said if we come back we will take the owner of house and you .

Thailand should adapt some type of restrictions when in a residential area.

Is it worth suing somebody with no assets?

    Are there debtors prisons?

Many people in the US drive with no insurance at all the Police in most states do nothing

and you can't get any money out of them. Learned that the hard way.

Florida insurance is required to register vehicle. If you don’t pay insurance they will pull your plates.

I find it funny that Thai authorities accept this address information from embassies, it ain't worth the paper it is written on.

Embassies know nothing and can only convey what you tell them.

I got my first DL in Udon Thani, staying at a hotel there. Had nothing like CoR or likewise from my embassy.

But brought with me my GF at the time and her tabien baan, that did the trick.

Really so you bucked the system. You testify under oath at Embassy what you submitted if true. Sure you can give incorrect information and if caught can Do the time or fine......

  5. 30+ year old car in good shape will be hard to find and chances are if its

been well kept they’ll know the value. I seen very few people that take good care of their vehicles. Yes their are some but theirs a lot that don’t.

Look in US and different countries if you’re looking for a nice old car.

You can find some that pricing isn’t crazy if not popular model.

Really! The lack of heater in new cars here puzzled me. Have a 2017 MUX in the colder season had to take someone to Udon 1 hour drive.

Wife loaned someone a my light jacket and only had short sleeve t-shirt

on. Had to arrive before a certain time.....looked everywhere to find a heater switch.... Doesn’t have one.

Never seen it before my 49 Chevy pick up in states even had a heater...

good luck Finding something you like and want ....

  6. Had to look at what time to see if it was the morning effect for craziness...ie a reply.

Get a 4 door for convenience.......or put the ones that rubbed you wrong that day in back of truck so they can enjoy fresh air and can clear their head. If it’s raining provide soap. Free wash!

A lot of people in Asia Pacific like the manaual for better fuel consumption.  It it’s said now Auto and Manual are pretty much on a level playing field as far as fuel consumption with today’s technology.

If your only driving in the countryside with minimal city traffic manual

if ok.  Realistically go with automatic it’ll be much more comfortable in city traffic ....

  7. US takes about 10 days. For US Don’t have to go to BKK you can mail old one and they send back old (punched with holes to cancel) and the new one. Send by Thailand Post office (EMS) and a bank check (forgot what’s called) for 100 baht and the send back same service.

Your UK website should have information regarding options. You may be able to get one sooner if absolutely need to travel. If not think of it as a holiday..

i had had the extra page passport because I traveled a lot for business. Kept it on leather passport wallet. US yapped about it being damaged and didn’t like it when I told them it’s because you guys are careless when you pull it th,rough thae machine.

    Good luck

  8. I use my younger sister address basically for bank and drivers license.

nit been back in two years and living out of the US 12 years or more. I’ll send her a little bit of money for her and my to go out for dinner (their next door neighbors. Moms 86) ...... all of my sisters as well as I are getting up in age....children’s one lives in Cambodia and other in US

  9. I opened a joint account with girlfriend now wife no problems. They also gave me a form to fill out for US don’t remember what it was. I also have US account in my name only.

Twice probably 4 years ago my US account was blocked because some reporting agency reported to the bank I was deceased. Had to go to Soical Security to get a letter for proof I was dead. The only thing they could do is state that no one was receiving any death benefits.

It it was all sorted out in a couple of days. Then it happened again. Luckily I was in bank day before I headed back to ASIA and they called him and another banker and they said yes he was here and wasn’t dead.

    and life goes on...

  10. Strange how different countries policy are towards changes. For example color change, custom rims. Two I know of personally. Thailand - guy has ford truck with vinyl wrap what supposed to look like (don’t know how it’s properly called) mud splattered on the sides. He went for yearly register and was denied because the decals changed the color to much.

A freind n China had car vinyl wrapped in flat black and customs rims. He went to renew registration and heavily fined and required to put car back to original color and put back on original rims ( which he sold)

seems a a bit overboard ..... and no adaptions to change.

  11. Ask your wife to use with earplugs. If I’m on a call for very long I will use speaker if no earplugs handy. Need to get use to it most places it’s illegal to drive using the phone.

California fine for using the phone without earplugs. The fine is per offense 1,2, etc. It’s costly...  Usually a motorcycle police will pull up

Behind you and look if you have seatbelt and are using a phone improperly. Easy for them to determine. Caught before you know it.

My granddaughter used phone to call parents and check in. She got a ticket although she explained they general won’t let you off for phone.

$20 base fine: $162 final cost.
$25 base fine: $197 final cost.
$35 base fine: $238 final cost.
$50 base fine: $285 final cost.

  12. Give the consulate in Khon Kaen a call. If like US Consulate in Los Angeles there are services for translation near by/or in same building.

Generally the consulate is staffed with Mainland China personnel.

Take note the one comment using Taiwanese to translate. China and Taiwan in general have a case of the ass with each other.

Lived in China 10 years business cards where in Chinese (Mainland) one side and the other English. Used it once in Taiwan and got a little push back. I’m American Caucasian made specific English only for any

customer visits in Taiwan. Some customer in Taiwan won’t allow someone from the mainland in their facilities.
