OP is good your taking care of matters and making it easier on family members. My youngest sister (5 siblings) took care everything when my father passed on… it was emotionally and physically tasking and she hopes she doesn’t have to go through it again .. it’s not she doesn’t care but it’s difficult to grieve at the same time. I’ve let my children know my plans when the time comes and both understand… some posters best to ignore…

Went on a similar trip on the loop… on moto it’s awesome way to see the countryside ..our ride was 6 days.,. Me , my son and a guy from Canada… luckily only stayed at one tourist town along the way due to getting dark… You’ve some awesome pictures and story to go with them…. Tha folks ate some of the nicest and accommodating people … really good people. I’d like to go riding up that way again but a bit of a ride from here inn NE Isaan to Chang Mai… thank you for sharing your journey absolutely awesome…

Had to change from US bank (closed account) to Thai bank was done by email to Manila. Only issue is it wasn’t done immediately and US bank sent me a check in the mail from US to Thailand. It took about 5 weeks for the check to clear. Worst part was it resulted in a skipped month for monthly deposit for retirement method. Although IO understood via Thai bank statement one month skipped and two deposits @ same due to exchange rate were deposited the next one it was a no go for monthly deposit.

Went yesterday passport as usual… cop made and sign. Noticed a Thai person in next teller getting cash she has to show ID card and also copy made a signed .. same same nothing different

If I remember correctly a couple days ago an article said a town outside of Shanghai had 1 million Covid cases a day. That should keep most people from going there and hopefully no outbound flights..

OP did you try using benefits letter from SSA ( guessing it’s US social security) showing your benefits? couple that with statement from US bank (should be available on internet banking) showing receiving SSA payment and then your transfer receipts to Thailand. Best of luck I know

Requirement is over the top and doesn’t seem feasible….. when o go on long vacations I like to travel around a bit … if a place is enjoyable maybe stay a few days if it’s shiat move cut the planned stay short and go to next destination. most my trips are on motorcycles you can plan a tentative stops but it doesn’t always work out that way… weather.. fatigue whatever plays a. Big part ..
