  1. So if this is correct there more than 4.9 million foreigners in Thailand?
  2. I agree there will certainly be an element of this for some applicants and could have been simplified by just asking for passport copy. No need for visa and medical papers. I think it is also unneccesary to do everything online, especially when dealing with non-tech savvy elderly. This also applies to elderly Thai as there are too many who can get nothing done without using a phone app or website without help from family or friends. Same thing with the financial aid initiatives. It is pretty obvious no real end to end testing is carried out before they launch.
  3. I believe being over 60 is enough for a jab, as so far they have only been asking those under 60 who turn up at centres like Bang Sue claiming to have conditions, to show proof. Just to be on the safe side I did attach the front page of a report I got from a checkup at Sukhumvit Hospital Bangkok about 2 years ago. All my conditions started before I left the UK 10 years ago, and so far (touch wood) heve never had to visit a hospital for those so nothing is documented in Thailand. The report clearly shows existing conditions and hopefully that will do, but am pretty sure being old is enough. My only visits are the once a year medical certificate from the local hospital for my extension renewal, and they just ask how I am, I say feeling good doc, and he gives me the paper.
  4. Looks like another blooper. Why are there only reports of rejections and none of actual appointments? This can't be very automated, they must be opening the attachments manually and firing off this email if something is missing. Or are they putting the valid ones on another list to be sent out with appointment info which they may not yet have? I do recall seeing many having difficulty with the 2 attachment processes. One question: Can I assume at age 66 proof of my underlying conditions is not really needed?
  5. Last night I got an SMS from Sukumvit Hospital in Bangkok directing me to a form for securing, and paying for, 2 Moderna doses in January 2022. It was to open today at 8 AM but when it opened instead of the form it said 'sorry, fully subscribed'. Possible they only had a few hundred doses. Personally I am continuing to try and avoid a trip to Bangkok, but it could have been a Plan B (or C or D or......). 2 years ago I had an annual checkup there but no contact since.
  6. Where I live, allthough its in Kanchanaburi province it's a 3 hour drive to Kanchanaburi city, then around 2 more to Bangkok. Hoping for somewhere closer than that.
  7. Yes it is - notices going out to kohn kaen and chiang mai registrants (of expatvac) soon
  8. Great news Expatvac registrants starting to roll out in the larger provinces. His reply yeterday to me about my own province stated it is likely only the top 20 provinces will issue appointments at local venues, and if you are in a lesser province you may be asked to go too a nearby province. He said it will be left to the doctors. With less then 200 registrants in my province, why not just send 200 to the main hospital and send out invites - province done in one day, or less, but unfortunately I am, after all this time, likely to be invited to Bangkok, which I have been avoiding ike the plague (pun intended). Sad to read 3 posts that have wrong recipient data in the emails.

  10. It looks like there may be a percentage done locally as long as you are in one of the "Top 20 provinces". I assume ranked by number of registrants. I avoided all the prior reg sites in order to avoid a 300km each way trip to Bangkok.
  11. Well this doesn't bode well! I have been waiting for something local to avoid a trip to a 'nearby province' which will probably be Bangkok! Very good getting a reply though. From Tanee Sangrat replying to my question on my province. "If the number of registrants in a province is limited they may be asked to proceed to a hospital in a nearby province. Kanchanaburi is not one of the top 20 provinces and must have some 200 registrants or less. Hope you get your email/SMS soon."
  12. Lets hope the smal numbers indicate the smaller provinces will start soon and its the 10k over 60 s and vulnerable. 10000 nationwide should be a cakewalk.
  13. Someone in this very active group may be able to help. https://www.facebook.com/groups/896773410671489
  14. I would agree with you but the logistics of sending vaccine to all the frontline staff involves a nationwide distribution (already carried out twice with all the Sinovac). With the expatvax data it would (should?) be straightforward to add the vaccines for each vulnerable person in each province and send them at the same time to the main provincial hospital. Still, you're probably correct, experts at paying lip service.
  15. Sad but despite Thailand having the potential to be in the top five, it would require too much of a cultural shift in attitude to tourists, who, in the main are just fair game for greed and dishonesty as demonstrated in Phuket over decades. Greed and corruption spoils it all, at all levels.
  16. So it's now the 14th and despite the many related threads, I still see no one reporting a communication of any kind from expatvac. Anyone like to take a guess when, if at all, someone gets an SMS or an email? There should be a prize for the first to get a notification! I am sick of checking all the topics on this! <End of morning rant>
  17. Local poo yai today, for the first time asked for anyone wanting Sinovac to attend on 3 days this month in Sangkhla Buri. Sangkhla Buri is pretty much locked down now with many large clusters and outbreaks in factories. His advice - go early it will be busy! It's about an hours drive for me. Also for the first time, anyone under 60 can go but only 500 per day will get a jab. This area while small in relative terms has many thousands of Thai and a handful of farang, as well as a high percentage of migrant workers, being home to the 3 Pagodas border pass to Myanmar. Again for the first time all are eligible, including me, if I wasn't 66, and migrant workers. Kanchanburi is deep red but so far vaccines of any kind are conspicuous by their absence. I agree with the view that we are entering a period of offloading SInovac wherever they can. I just hope they are not stupid or deparate enough to order more. This whole expatvac is just another exercise in false hope, won't be long before reports come in of appointments too far from home, and turning up to not get Pfizer.
  18. I live in a rural village and I see no food shortages, indeed if you were a veggie or only ate pork, you'd still be well fed. All the staples the wife uses are plentiful at the moment. Gave up on our monthly 3 hours each way drive to Makro, KFC, BigC etc a long time ago, now relying on 3 excellent mail order food suppliers, with no delivery probems so far. If I could get to KFC I would definitely take away 6 family buckets and 12 diet pepsi. They freeze quite well. Shame I cant do the same at Dairy Queen.
  19. Seriously, if I, or assume most people on here, turned up to be greeted by this, we would turn round and go home. Go for a vacccine, get Covid. Why do so many people after all this time not realise the stupidity and risk of this? It's ok to say don't blame the people but, come on, it's common sense surely? They can quickly find big spaces for field hospitals, why not vax centres?
