  1. OP I had the same problem around 18 months ago when my FA of 30+ years dropped me. I had to get a written statement from an FA if I chose a certain pension option, and the only help I could find was a high end firm in Singapore. They gave me some advice on the phone which turned out to be spot on and I got my pension withut a financial adviser, but if I had mega bucks they would have been allowed to help officially. I could find nothing in Thailand that conformed. Good luck.
  2. Yes I check spam daily but since covid, now get very little. Still nothing today. I was disappointed to read the reply I got from the email for foreignvac was probably a well written auto reply. Had first shot now so its no longer relevant. I will review what's happening with boosters in the new year, may book a Moderna somewhere. Actually I feel good now not having to trawl TV and the internet for news of vaccines.
  3. It's easier to read a Stephen Fry novel than the OP's posts. That's not a compliment by the way ????
  4. I registered a long time ago with BCCT but after hearing nothing, i registered again on the 22/8. I had a suspicion my first attempt may have failed as I got no confirmation email, as I did the second. On the 24th I got news of a very local vaccine centre on the 25th where I got my first (SV) jab, second on 15/9 (AZ) Today I got an appointment froom BCCT but it was too late, and besides it was for a jab some 300 km from home in Bangkok, so would have turned it down anyway. I now expect my expatvac appointment to also arrive too late tomorrow. Sods Law. However I applaud the BCCT in their efforts to at least try to assist UK citizens and I see they have expedited a jab for many already.
  5. See it every week in my village At least once or twice a week someone drives past the house to be pointed at by the wife, saying 'new! work Bangok' In a small community where everybody literally knows everybody, it's very obvious. They just don't care, and the poo yai who announces the rules regularly, really has no authority to do anything.
  6. Funny how a simple post about something generally turns out to be a fairly common issue for many on here, including me. I find it's sticky foods like cheese and cold (dry) chicken that stick a little but easy to wash down with some water. Swallowing hard doesn't always help. I take the OPs point that now is not a good time to vist a random hospital. I have list of things as long as my arm I need to check as soon as this pandemic eases enough to do so.
  7. So more than half a million have 3 jabs which could have gone to those still waiting on their first? Who got these jabs? Can't all be medics etc who got 2 Covid.
  8. First jab SV yesterday, AZ in 3 weeks. Got fed up registering everywhere and getting nowhere fast. Not ideal, but age and underlying conditions mean this is better then nothing. Am also considering a booster but not sure when or what. Can you really choose a date for your booked Moderna? Won't they just have a day to invite you?
  9. Agree, just finished 2 days of vax in my village. Day 1 (smaller neighbouring village) 500 SV allocated : 250 turned up. Day 2 (my village ) 1000 allocated plus the leftover 250: 400 turned up. Day 3 hastilly organised as a walk in at local clinic. 2nd jab is AZ. I took this option as was so tired of trying all the other routes without success. So thats 650 closer to 100 million.
  10. I sincerely hope you are right, as this is my option, not much alternative choice either.
  11. This story reminds me of the Netflix series Cocaine Cowboys, where two Cuban immigrants became both notorious, and ridiculously rich drug smugglers. Their biggest problem was spending or laundering the tens of millions in cash. Let's buy one more car? Joe Ferrari = King Pin or maybe assistant King Pin.
  12. Province: Kanchanaburi Date: 25 August 2021 Location (name of hospital or other) Local ommunity centre Are you over 60/chronically ill? (Yes/No) Yes/Yes How did you register? Walk in day in the village Vaccination received (yes/no) Yes If yes, Type of vaccine : Sinovac (2nd Astra Zenica on 15 Sept 2021) If no, Reason not vaccinated: Similar story to Mutt Daeng above. I first posted in May (!) at the start of this thread that all local attempts were greeted with Thai Only at every possible local vax event. It seems that after 3 months the local health departments are finally accepting foreigners. Initially I too got the 'no paperwork can't do' but the lead doctor overheard and asked me for my passport and Thai driving licence. He returned after, I presume, entering me into the database. Went ok after that, no ill effects as yet. I had registered with every initiative but was not interested in travel to Bangkok. So after 3 months I now feel the ordeal, and i mean that literally, is almost over. Not over the moon at SV/AZ cocktail but will review booster in the new year. Am expecting an SMS from expatvac any day now for Pfizer but I am relieved to have received a vaccine.
  13. Decided this morning to attend the local vax visit to the village, set up under tents some 300m from my house, SV/AZ. Can't get closer than that to home. THis whole process of registering and waiting has worn me out mentally. More hoops than a box of Cheerios. I was almost at the point of writing a letter to Santa Claus. Just back to wait at home for an hour and return when number 179 is due. Not ideal but will hopefully sort out a superior jab in 2022. Incidentally there was a similar day yesterday for the adjoining village for up to 500 jabs. At lunchtime their poo yai put out a plea for attendees. They had a plan for 1000 today but will do more with the leftovers from yesterday, if people turn up. Now I know that sods law says I will get an SMS today or tomorrow from expatvac to go to my provincial hospital for Pfizer.
  14. Here is some good news. The UK ambassader just posted a video which included an email for expatvac queries [email protected] My previous post expressed concern that my provincial hospital don't have my name on the list they are sending out to registrants from now, so I emailed to see if they could confirm that it will be ok and I will hear soon. Almost imediate reply (not an automated one) Reply: I checked and could confirm that your registration has been approved. You will be sent an appointment details once your vaccine has been allocated by the Ministry of Public Health. I will also coordinate with our colleagues at the Ministry of Public Health and resend your registration for them to allocate your vaccine promptly. Thank you for your patience Department of Consular Affairs Ministry of Foreign Affairs The Kingdom of Thailand Things are looking up ????
  15. My 'local' provincal hospital is 160 km each way. I have to do it for Immigration tasks, so I am used to the journey. I'd be over the moon to get an appointment there. Can't see a Pfizer option coming any closer to be honest.
  16. Thanks, this whole sht show makes me feel helpless, seems so hard to get decent information on what, when and where. There are almost too many locations now, but it's finding out about them that's difficult.
  17. A week ago they had a SV day announced in the village but the vaccine centre was 40 Km away in Sangkhla Buri. The wife's 2 brothers went, one had a sore arm for a day but the other got very sick with covid-like symptoms for 4 days, enough for him to go get tested and thankfully came back negative. It makes so much more sense for the vaccine to come to the village, than for thousands to head for deep red Bangkok and other places.
  18. I called them, the girl had great English and was as helpfull as she could be without access to the database. Hold on a short time longer was the advice, she was pretty sure from the email I got 1st Aug that my name is in there. Have a SV + AZ opportunity 300 metres from home tomorrow but it's just day one in the village of several so will keep waiting impatiently a while longer. This constant waiting game is starting to stress me out!
  19. Yes a lot of activity at the local provincial hospital level. They have indeed passed the buck. I had a messsage conversation with someone from my provincial hospital who told me they had a list of 30 names from the MFA but my name was not on it, they suggested there would be a second round. How can I check expatvac has my name and this is not just another registration ck-up? There was a phone number for MFA queries but I can't find the post with the number.
  20. No information of course just the 'village view' which has become intransigent here. I will not be mentioning any further risks lol. I am hoping that we can both do a trip together soon to get this over with, it's really dragging on now.
  21. Agree, this is the case in my province, SV + AZ is the only offer for the moment through the local route.
  22. Very timely post, as I have a chance for Sinovac + AZ tomorrow in a village school. Wife can go too but she has convinced herself as she had a serious heart condition in her teens, that Sinovac could kill her. So she has decided to wait for a pay-as-you-go vaccine, or 2 x AZ. As for me I have explored every platform that you can register on and heard nothing until yesterday when the provincial hospital told me they have a list from the MFA of 30 recipients, but, as yet, not for me. I feel that if I hang on a week or so they may come good, but need to pass on tomorows opportunity. Whether it's the local school doing 1000 locals tomorrow, or some big Bangkok hospital, we both will likely wait till other choices arrive as it seems risky to head where big crowds are. A recent vaccine day (for Thai only) has resulted in one person going to get jabbed, then being tested positive and now isolating at home. We are bored as F self solating for so long but can probably wait it out a bit longer. As for SInovac, and mix and matching, it's hard who to believe. I recall Sinovac originally was deemed unsuitable for over 60's but (as there is plenty of stock?) it's ok now?

  24. As another example I pay around £1200 per annum to UK firm HCI and have maximum cover of almost 16 million baht. Cant say they are bad or good as never had to claim in 6 years. You're younger so your premium should be less.
  25. This is correct according to the daily video from the ccsa spokesman who stated the email/sms woud now be coming direct from local hospitals. You could message them from facebook, they were quite responsive this morning. https://www.facebook.com/PhaholHospofficial
