  1. Is that why @thaibeachlovers is always trying to pull a 'snow job' on us, though, I understand NZ is a country full of sheep.
  2. Thanks, Frank, for your informative post! Cheers! (Спасибо! / 干杯!)
  3. Seems my previous lessons in logic and reasoning didn’t quite stick—let's try this again, with your latest mixed salad: Straw Man Fallacy: You’ve oversimplified leftism, reducing it to just “power” and “brainwashing,” instead of addressing the actual policy positions or ideas. That’s a classic misrepresentation, making your argument easier to defeat without engaging with the full complexity of the topic. False Dilemma: You’ve set up a false choice: either embrace the left’s “manipulation” or support Trump’s “hard truths.” This leaves out the fact that there are plenty of positions in between, and politics isn’t as binary as you’re presenting it. Ad Hominem: Rather than directly engaging with the facts or policies, you attack the left as being about “brainwashing” and “fake news.” This doesn’t address the actual arguments but shifts the focus to attacking your opponent's personally. Appeal to Emotion: You throw in emotionally charged terms like “assassination attempts” and “lawfare” without evidence, hoping to stir up fear and outrage rather than provide logical support for your claims. Circular Reasoning: You claim that Trump’s policies were obviously better, but that’s based on assuming your conclusion is true without offering any substantial evidence to back it up. It’s a closed loop of reasoning that doesn’t actually prove anything. Hasty Generalization: You’ve generalized leftism as a whole based on selective instances or extreme examples, failing to account for the diversity of thought within the left and reducing complex issues to a single, biased narrative. Red Herring: Bringing up celebrities like Beyoncé, Oprah, and Bruce Springsteen distracts from the actual argument. It’s an irrelevant point that serves to divert attention away from the core issues at hand. Appeal to Popularity (Bandwagon): You claim that the fact leftist politicians are getting voted out proves your side is right. This assumes that popularity equals correctness, which is a logical misstep. A majority vote doesn’t necessarily mean the argument is sound or based on fact. Tu Quoque Fallacy (Appeal to Hypocrisy): When you say “as in your own case,” you’re attempting to deflect by accusing me of the same thing. It’s a typical tactic to avoid dealing with the substance of the discussion and instead focus on criticizing the person making the argument. In short, your argument, a la Trump, leans heavily on emotional manipulation, misrepresentation, and logical fallacies to push a narrative that doesn’t engage with the real complexities of the issues.
  4. The job of the DoD isn’t about glorifying combat or just to "break things and kill people"—it’s about ensuring the safety of the country through a balanced approach that includes defense, diplomacy, and national interest, not just being a 'warrior.
  5. I agree it says a lot. Maybe that's a testimony to the gullibility of Trump supporters! Or maybe it’s a sign of a serious lack of critical thinking. It’s easy to buy into a narrative that aligns with your views, especially when it's fed to you with emotion and simplicity. Trump’s rhetoric isn’t about facts; it’s about selling convenient stories that fit people’s desires, not their reality. If half of America is buying into that without questioning, it’s not just belief—it’s a failure to critically analyze what’s being said. Embracing easy answers over hard truths doesn’t say much about intelligence, but it sure says a lot about the power of manipulation.
  6. Maybe just a warning of 'Lock up your Daughters' will suffice.
  7. As do most of us on this Thailand forum.
  8. Matt Gaetz, what values could he possibly have in common with Trump?
  9. Nothing to do with economy! It's E-Commerce! Since COVID online retail is now the name of the game. Bricks and mortar stores are a thing of the past
  10. And far-right wing FOX pseudo-journalist pretending to be Sec of Defense. Nevertheless, I agree, Elise Stefanik and Mike Waltz, both sitting House members, are good choices as it will reduce MAGA's influence in the House. Of course, Twitter (X), now under Elon’s thumb, is the go-to verifiable source—because what’s more trustworthy than someone with a conflict of interest playing both sides?
  11. Well, since we're talking about promises, let’s start with a classic: how about a commitment to actually preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution? Something he failed to do in his previous tenure. Do you think anything has changed, or are we in for more of the same?
  12. Wouldn't it be easier to just man up and admit you were wrong?
  13. People legally in the U.S.—whether they’re citizens, visa holders, asylum seekers, or permanent residents—do indeed have rights, including due process and protection from discrimination. The Constitution doesn’t limit basic rights only to citizens; it protects persons under the law. Even undocumented folks have certain protections, and visa holders absolutely have the right to fair treatment. 14. You mean she's black?
  15. Glad you're admitting you spun that out of thin air. Here’s the reality: Trump’s “robust security” is a fantasy with no bipartisan action to back it. He actually told the GOP House not to approve Democratic immigration reform, so maybe check the facts before dressing up hypotheticals as policy insight. And no, internet dating? I think I'll swipe left on that idea, thanks. Trump on Border Deal: 'Stupid' Republicans Shouldn't Give Biden Win
  16. I was right then, so glad you are admitting that you made it up.
  17. So, you made all the text up then......that's my opinion.....
  18. Is all that just your opinion? If you are suggesting it's factual, maybe post some links?
  19. Used to waste money on Express VPN until I discovered my Norton 360 Virus Software with included VPN works fine. Watching it now!
  20. Instead of hiding behind rhetoric, why not address the OP's points with facts? Personal values don’t win arguments—evidence does.
  21. Confucius may have stated facts, but he also taught the value of wisdom, integrity, and restraint—values that seem to be missing when you rely on slurs to avoid meaningful discussion. His teachings emphasized respect for others, not resorting to dismissive jabs to deflect from an argument.
  22. Confucius also said, 'The superior man is modest in his speech but exceeds in his actions.' Seems like you missed both lessons—using slurs to dodge the topic and thinking clichés count as wisdom.
  23. I was in staying near Rajamangala in 2011 and was prepared for the "big flood'' but as far as I can remember there was only minor flooding in isolated parts of Bangkapi, nowhere near the OP, seems most of the flooding was near Minburi. Reminds me there is also some alternate transport at RU Pier about 10 mins walk from the OP, on the Klong San Saeb Express. I was even thinking of buying an apartment in the area for investment, and my stepdaughter who will likely be attending RU in a few years.
  24. You don't need Kodi only VPN, in fact my Norton 360 VPN works fine. just sign up for 9NOW and any other channel. Seven Network (7+ or 7plus), Nine Network (9Now), Ten Network (10 play), ABC (ABC Iview) and SBS (SBS OnDemand). Or use: TV Guide | Freeview Australia
