Assault on Kiev: Russian helicopters swoop above Ukraine's capital
LosLobo replied to Chris.B's topic in The War in Ukraine
Gorbachev made this particularly poignant statement when Russia withdrew from Afghanistan in 1988. "The question of the withdrawal of our troops from Afghanistan was a reflection of our current political thinking, of our new, modern view of the world. We wanted thereby to reaffirm our commitment to the traditions of good-neighbourliness, good will and mutual respect". "Any armed conflict, including an internal one, can poison the atmosphere in an entire region and create a situation of anxiety and alarm for a country’s neighbours, to say nothing of the suffering and losses among its own people. That is why we are against any armed conflicts. We know that the Afghan leadership, too, takes the same attitude". Gorbachev Statement on Afghanistan – Seventeen Moments in Soviet History (msu.edu) I cannot see Putin doing this with Ukraine. We can only hope a future Russian President will one day continue with Gorbachev's visionary changes to Russia's history of war and territorial land grabs. -
Assault on Kiev: Russian helicopters swoop above Ukraine's capital
LosLobo replied to Chris.B's topic in The War in Ukraine
History tells us that Hitler's Barbarossa is more liken to Putin's Special Operation where Russia failed to take Ukraine, in particular Kyiv. This was due to same weather, logistical conditions, resolve of the defenders and arms support from the US, that occurred in Hitler's planned attempt of genocide and ethic cleansing in Russia. Yet, with escalation of war, Putin et al are doing exactly that with the nuclear armed West. Gorbachev didn't actually win the Afghanistan war either. Have ever considered directing some of your narrative against the perpetrators of this crime against humanity? -

Yet, Russia launched the Holodomor, genocide or "Final Solution to the Ukrainian Question" in the 1930's and now again with this Special Operation. -
How the Biden and Trump classified documents cases compare
LosLobo replied to Social Media's topic in World News
The comparison of cases is like chalk and cheese! There is no evidence to suggest that there is, or that Biden has committed any crime. Whereas ,Trump's case is already in the criminal justice system. Biden is POTUS and has immunity from any criminal prosecution and could easily declassify all the documents in question if he wished. Trump on the other hand has the status of less than a US citizen. (At least the ordinary US citizen doesn't dodge his responsibility to pay taxes and support military service). As such he has no immunity from prosecution for his crimes, Also there is no evidence that he declassified his stolen documents when he was POTUS -

"Thrombosis does not develop overnight"? Yet Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) is a common occurrence on flights more than fours hours. In fact a seemingly young healthy personal friend of mine developed DVT after a seven hour overnight drive without a rest break. These are facts from a reality unaltered by "Orange" Kool-Aid. -
The CNN article in the OP says "20 Republicans ....voted for Rep. Jim Jordan in opposition to McCarthy during the third round of voting Tuesday". For someone who has previously been accused of failing to speak up publicly about important issues in his constituency, Jordan seems an unlikely candidate for GOP Speaker of the House!

Reading your posts I recall my early adventures when I used to stay at a mansion in Soi Veerakit near Baanzan for extended periods in the early 2000's. Your posts bring back fond memories!

Safe and effective.....but maybe for not under 30's...

The logic of your critical thinking is demonstrated by : ''If seat-belts work to prevent car accident deaths why are they not preventing car accident deaths?'' Obviously my statement is nonsense! -
Assault on Kiev: Russian helicopters swoop above Ukraine's capital

I had a good laugh at this article, the only comment I could make would be Dmitry Peskov is self-projecting and gas-lighting in his usual delusional way....... Kremlin says Russia has made significant progress towards 'demilitarising' Ukraine "The Kremlin said on Friday that Russia had made significant progress towards "demilitarising" Ukraine, one of the goals President Vladimir Putin declared when he launched his war against Kyiv 10 months ago". Putin is ready for a cease-fire but trusting the other side is a problem for him. Even after Russia did everything by the book, citing the Minsk Agreement as the reason for his distrust but failing to mention other issues like the Budapest Agreement. Ukraine war: Vladimir Putin says deal may be needed to end conflict as he admits mistakes were made over mobilisation | World News | Sky News Why the Minsk Accords Failed to Bring Ukraine Peace - The Washington Post (googleusercontent.com) Ukraine war: what is the Budapest Memorandum and why has Russia's invasion torn it up? (theconversation.com) Obviously, the reason for his newfound generosity is possibly this.... Russian troops discuss mass exodus from frontline in leaked calls as Putin faces mutiny (msn.com) -
The responsibility of a US citizen is to support military service and pay his taxes. I suggest that a higher bar is expected from president or an ex president. Mafioso Don has been a miserable failure at both roles.

At 350 baht you may receive rabies vaccine regime which can take more than a week to effect an immune response and protection meanwhile the rabies incubation can be as short as a week depending on location and severity of bite. So without rabies immuno globin as recommended by WHO at many thousands of baht you are on a slippery slope.

Expect the worst and you'll never be disappointed. I am not a medical professional, but I don't think feeling a small growth inside your prostate always means that it is cancer or something that needs to be killed. If after an MRI and a biopsy you find that you really have cancer it may not be a high Gleason score and may only need active surveillance and having cancer is not a sentence as I have found out. Anyway, thank for sharing and Good Luck!

There are eligibility rules for OAP like having two years continuous residency before or after application. There is some provisos to that 186-day rule and new legislation from last year is still in the pipeline. I suggest you read the OAP and OAP Portability forums there is info about all of this. -

I would suggest that if you are in receipt of the Old Age Pension or part of it, there may be issues with your Oz residency status for your pension and also for your taxation liability with a pension or not. If so, get some expert advice. -
