With respect, I didn't say it was what you said. Try and be more accurate ???? Maybe lookup the meaning of "intimated"!

First get a medical opinion about the back pain and exercise. Side and back stroke shouldn't hyper extend your back muscles. Maybe try some gentle crawl or some of your existing strokes but without arm extension with the help of a flotation device or possibly flippers. Large flippers could cause back hyper extension, small training flippers would be ideal if available. 3 Essential Tips for Swimming with Back Pain (spine-health.com)

Apologies I should have been more specific. Your post intimated that all swimming should be avoided because all swimming arches your back. That is not the case, some forms of swimming doesn't. I never suggested that if your back hurts after swimming it's a not problem and agree a medical opinion should always be sought especially before embarking on any new exercise regime.

I don't agree with the "swimming is one of those to avoid" part! Swim away from lower back pain (doctorcall.co.uk)

What stroke are you doing?

I am in a similar cohort as you. Any isometric exercise can bring on past issues. I find a long slow swim before any exercise usually protects me from any injury.

Your topic heading is very confusing. Most usually associate TT currency with what financial institutions (Banks Wise etc) refer to as the exchange rate for telegraphic transfer (TT). Hence my response. The company TT Currency Exchange is only in Pattaya not Phuket.

Wow, thanks for the prompt response. I really appreciate it. The whole electrical fit out is a new build. The water heater is just the last connection because of wall tiling. If you have the time to explain the technicalities I would really appreciate a quick overview.

My electrician is installing a Stiebel 3,500W water heater which has a built in Electricity Leakage Sensing Device (ELSD) with an earth wire going back 9-10 metres to the main switchboard which is earthed to an outside earthing rod 1.5 metres from the board. I asked him if a dedicated earth closer to water heater would be better and his response was "not necessary". I was concerned because the water heater is close to the shower but high enough to avoid most direct splashing. Are my concerns unnecessary? I would really appreciate any assistance. Thanks

I already send link with details including address, phone number, map and geo coordinates and a picture! What else could I possibly supply! ????

NC Plus in Phuket Town 100 metres from Robinson's. NC Plus (Thailand) - Phuket.Net Wise has better rates than Bank T/T. Currency Converter | Foreign Exchange Rates | Wise I think NC Plus might be better rate than Wise but call them to check!

Guarantees from the contractor?
LosLobo replied to OneMoreFarang's topic in Real Estate, Housing, House and Land Ownership
I just went thru the process of remotely contracting some minor tiling work in Thailand. Don't assume anything or leave anything to chance. Beside plans you need detail drawings of all the work. Then you need to walk thru everything personally in detail with the builder. My project was very informal no contract etc but I can assist with some general tiling specification information. There are two main types of tiles rectified and non rectified. The rectified ones have been machined after firing and generally have grout lines of 1-2mm. Non rectified are au natural and generally have 3-4 mm spacing. You will need to specify the exact grout/colour size etc. Tiles need to be levelled with tabs and levelling pliers and gaps with appropriate sized spacers. The levelling criteria is dependent on the tile type, surface etc. Tiles come in various surface finishes. Bathrooms and wet area floors should not have gross finishes. I have varying surfaces between the main bathroom area and the shower wet area floor. Make sure tiles have the same batch number, as colour can vary from batch to batch. Good Luck with your project! -
Assault on Kiev: Russian helicopters swoop above Ukraine's capital

The start of this sub thread was about trusting Russia to honour a Peace Agreement. Apologies if I offended you, it was not my intention! -
Assault on Kiev: Russian helicopters swoop above Ukraine's capital
LosLobo replied to Chris.B's topic in The War in Ukraine
If Putin signed a Peace Treaty now it would only be for him "to save face" because he is unable to further prosecute a successful total war with Ukraine at this moment. So would you then suggest that the agreement was invalid because "saving face" is a legitimate out for Putin, to break the "Peace Agreement" when he has replenished retrained and rearmed his forces? In my mind an agreement is always valid irrespective of the reasons for signing it! -

Deflection asking about the Ukraine war is not going to help you! Your previous excuse for not posting a citation was that you were unable to master <Ctrl+C> <Ctrl+V>. Then it was because you only get your information from TV. Now are you actually being honest and saying that none of your claims can be supported by realty<sic>? You may say that the earth is flat and that it's common knowledge but if you don't post evidence to support your claim, discussion and your post is pointless. -

Have you ever considered supporting your claims with a citation? "That which can be asserted without evidence, can be dismissed without evidence." Hitchens Razor. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burden_of_proof_(philosophy) I have been generous in supplying a citation to dispute your claims although the onus of the "burden of proof" is your responsibility not mine. Assault on Kiev: Russian helicopters swoop above Ukraine's capital
LosLobo replied to Chris.B's topic in The War in Ukraine
I suggest that any peace treaty with Russia would not be worth the paper it's written on. For example: 'Under the Budapest Memorandum, signed on 5 December 1994, Ukraine exchanged nuclear weapons for pledges by the three powers (i.e. Russia, US & UK) “to respect the independence, sovereignty and the existing borders of Ukraine” and to refrain from the “threat or use of force” against the country. ' Would Russia have invaded Ukraine if Soviet nuclear weapons had remained on Ukrainian soil? | Feature from King's College London (kcl.ac.uk) -
Australian Aged Pension
LosLobo replied to VOICEOVER's topic in Australia & Oceania Topics and Events
Did International tell you about this legislation : "A claim for pension can be lodged by a former resident who has resumed residence in Australia only if, on the evidence available, there is a clear intention to remain permanently in Australia. A person who intends to return to Australia for a defined period only (e.g. 2 years) would not be an 'Australian resident' as per SSAct subsection 7(2)." 7.1.4 Requirements for former residents of Australia receiving a portable pension | Social Security Guide (dss.gov.au) -
I am returning to Thailand later this year and was hoping to buy a new car shortly after arrival. As I will be located up country with little local transport, I will be renting until I can source a new vehicle. In the West current waiting times for delivery can be six months but I anticipate that this will improve with the spectre of an approaching recession. I would kindly appreciate any feedback by anyone with any recent experience with current waiting times for common locally-produced models.

I had very bad allergic conjunctivitis with itchy eyes and used Pataday (Olopatadine) from a Thai Eye Clinic and it was very effective. I also regularly use Zaditen (Ketotifen) which I source from Chemistwarehouse in Oz ( delivery about 5 days) . Both are mast cell stabilisers/second generation antihistamines and work like steriods without their inherent problems. Naphcon A is a decongestant which may be good on an ad hoc basis but will cause rebound if used for more than a few days straight. OcuSoft is a mild anti-bacterial used for eyelid hygiene. It kills bacteria and the demodex mite that causes itchiness and blepharitis which is a major cause of dry eye. It it has proven very effective in my dry eye treatment. Allergic conjunctivitis doesn't necessarily have any discharge. Bacterial/viral conjunctivitis can. Never had a stye though I did have bacteria/demodex mite infested eye-lids.

What Movies or TV shows are you watching (2022)
LosLobo replied to CharlieH's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Just watched first episode of The Lazarus Project (TV Series 2022– ) - IMDb rating now 6.9/10. Wow, if the first episode is an indication of the rest of the series, I'll be bingeing out soon. It seems to be a suitable 'sorbet' for sci fi fans after finishing the brilliant The Man who Fell to Earth Series One 'main course' which sadly ends in two more episodes. Thanks for recommendation @sanuk711. -

It's rather ironic! In the "Great Famine" the US saved millions of Russian lives!
