  1. You're just plain wrong about that. Immigration can and does issue visas within Thailand under certain circumstances. Take a hint from reading the stamp which literally says, "Non-Immigrant Visa".
  2. I don't know about that particular branch either, but with Bangkok Bank in general, there's a good chance that they try to sign you up for a UnionPay card by default. I had to tell them on more than one occasion, come renewal time, that I have no use for a UnionPay card.
  3. They obviously need to be unambiguous as to the question if you can fly with the reservation you've purchased ALONE. Whether you want to see the ticket purchase option that they offer as a "different service" or as an "add-on" is up to you, but as I said, they would be able to facilitate providing you with an actual ticket you could actually fly with. It's worth noting that some embassies that require an "air ticket paid in full" as part of their requirements insist to see not just the itinerary, but also the payment receipt. So there are already cases where using an onward ticket service doesn't work.
  4. At Jomtien, it seems to depend on how busy they are, based on countless reports over the years. At times when they're busy such as when high season arrivals wish to extend, (say in January), they tend to send people away who attempt to extend "too early" and tell them to come back later.
  5. It's ultimately a technical procedure, just because Thailand's immigration has that distinction between a "tourist entry" and a "non-immigrant visa entry". I have no idea why you can't wrap your head around that; they issue you a visa and stamp you in on that new visa locally. That you didn't actually leave the country is reflected by the fact that they don't give you an exit stamp, but a new entry stamp. A nice little paper-shuffling exercise.
  6. I think you're wrong about that. They mention that, in case you wish to purchase the ticket, you can contact them while your reservation is valid. To be clear, I don't think that actually happens (and their price probably wouldn't be competitive), but I have no reason to doubt their claim that they could facilitate it upon request.
  7. Careful what you wish for, they'd have you do visa runs just because of their infatuation with arrival numbers. 🤣
  8. Great news, finally I'll have an IKEA within walking distance.
  9. Are they even sure that this is primarily a trust issue? My money is always on the economy being the biggest factor.
  10. Police doing their job. That this is considered newsworthy tells you all about the Thai police that you need to know. Well done. More of this please.
  11. Hopefully it's not just the usual talk and he will really make it happen this time around. People have waited long enough, it's easy to implement and costs the state next to nothing.
  12. It's a nonsensical requirement that ultimately proves nothing else than that the traveler has 1500 baht, which would typically be the price for the cheapest ticket out to a nearby country. With an onward ticket service, you do have the option to purchase the ticket you made a reservation for, within the timeframe the reservation is valid for. Of course that's not usually the traveler's intention, but does that make it fraudulent? Not any more than buying a throwaway ticket or a flexible ticket whose travel date you intend to change.
  13. You make it sound as if Chonburi City had an immigration office. When people say "Chonburi Immigration", they usually mean the Jomtien office, as "Chonburi Immigration" is what their stamps say.
  14. I don't think that happens if the overstay is the only offense. Maybe they couldn't find an entry record in their system and had to investigate if it wasn't a case of illegal entry. OP, arriving at the airport before check-in for the flight out opens would be pointless, as one has to check in before going to immigration.
  15. If they had any brains, they would ask to see your re-entry permit, not the extension.
  16. Even there it's hit and miss. A friend who flew in on AirAsia visa exempt last month didn't have an onward ticket. The check-in clerk did ask him how long he'll stay in Thailand and where he'll go next, but his answer (two weeks, then overland to Laos) was satisfactory without having to present any evidence. No guarantees obviously.
  17. No & No & No Zero interest from me.
  18. If Thailand had proper highways (the ones without traffic lights and u-turns) and high-speed trains, many domestic flights wouldn't even be necessary. Even with their crappy land transport infrastructure, I doubt the market can support a whopping six additional airlines, but I guess we'll see.
  19. That was a dumb move, making it impossible to claim accidentally forgetting to declare the cash. She will probably be given the maximum fine possible.
  20. Opening from 10 AM to 10 PM on 7 days a week, as is the norm with malls in Thailand, is already plenty. How many additional shoppers do they hope to attract outside of those hours?
  21. It's more likely that the embassy or consulate you visit to apply for another tourist visa will eventually refuse to issue you another one. It's hard to keep track of their limits, but that will happen sooner or later.
  22. Each time you enter as a tourist, you can only extend your permission to stay once, by 30 days. If you manage to enter Thailand 6 times, then yes, you could extend 6 times (once per entry). Not sure if that's what you mean though.
  23. Do you go on trips sometimes? If you check into a hotel somewhere for one night, it would be perfectly legal to submit a new TM30 report when you return home, with your return date as "check-in" date.
  24. Confiscate his bike, then let the fashion police deal with him. Next.
  25. It would be nice if they had given some examples. Offenses and the respective fines.
