  1. There are some truly disgusting names on that list, and far too many high-ranking police officers.
  2. Voters have been known to have a short memory, so even this massive betrayal and resulting well-deserved drop in popularity isn't something that a sprinkle of populist policies and handouts can't fix. The Pheu Thai leadership knows that better than anyone else I'm afraid and might be banking on just that to happen. Time will tell if things are any different this time around. I'm not very hopeful.
  3. Help them do what exactly? They won't overlook the limit for 2000 baht, so what could it be?
  4. I'm not sure where you see a "scam" there. That's a border crossing popular with border runners, so the IO assumed you'd want to come right back and did you a favor by letting you know that you wouldn't be allowed back if he stamped you out. The limit that is being discussed in this topic is strictly being enforced.
  5. Indeed. But look at the quality of what they've negotiated with the EU, they've pretty much cherry-picked whatever they want to be a part of.
  6. What would be the point? Do they want to show the world yet another time what a dumb herd of sheep they are? The Swiss population has shown time and again that they're educated and engaged enough to vote in referendums. The same cannot be said about the populations of most other countries.
  7. I've never quite understood the design, they look like a hazard waiting to happen.
  8. Coherent, alright... My guess is that he's busy with coherently barking orders in the general direction of the PM elect.
  9. Or was it wieners?
  10. Wine cooler? A beer would be a lot healthier and provide the same bang.
  11. Riveting, so at least we can rule out a Napoleon complex.
  12. It's a total disgrace and the voters have every right to feel betrayed.
  13. Due or undue, Thaksin's overdue return has been a complete farce even by Thai standards. ????
  14. I'm a bit baffled that you waited for 5 hours for the re-entry permit, aren't you aware that you can apply at the airport on your way out? That being said, when Big Jok(e) gets around to make his suggestions, I'd wish they do away with re-entry permits altogether and make them an integral part of every long-term extension. It's such a waste of time, hassle and passport pages for no good reason.
  15. That would be a total disgrace and a disaster for the country. Things are already looking bad enough as they are, but if The Watchman gets the job, this country is doomed.
  16. Nonsense. That's not how the Thai eVisa system works.
  17. As always and looking at the quality of some of their communications, the big question is if they actually understand and mean what they write.
  18. Those "activists" are the bane of Thailand.
  19. If you must ask...
  20. I would prefer to see it plunge by a substantial 8%. In addition, of course.
  21. Luckily he didn't promote beer, that would have been taken a lot more seriously by those local authorities.
  22. Well for HIV to do any real damage to the immune system it usually takes several years, so I doubt that this guy was unlucky enough to catch all 3 infections (HIV, syphilis, mpox) in "one session" just recently. More likely a history of untreated/unmanaged STIs for years and now his immune system just couldn't handle it anymore.
  23. It's usually 3 months for a single-entry tourist visa nowadays, so unless your embassy specifically deviates from that in their list of requirements, that's what I'd provide them with.
