  1. My condo requires key cards for the elevators and security wouldn't swipe theirs for each and every food delivery rider (hint: there's a steady succession of them) that rocks up. Whatever their policies might be. Case closed. Getting deliveries is bad enough for me. But I would never want to be the kind of useless couch potato that can't even be arsed to pick up the deliveries in the lobby.
  2. Most revolutions start with unlawful acts. How else to get rid of unjust oppression? I'm sure the fact that the English now control Scotland would have been unlawful under Scottish law at some point in history.
  3. I like cashless payments and often pay cashless. That being said, I wouldn't allow businesses to refuse accepting cash. Things can and do go wrong with cashless payments, so it's important to keep cash as a fallback and also to accommodate people who simply prefer cash payments. So I'm going to vote AGAINST. I want cashless payments as an option, but I don't want a cashless society.
  4. Just ignore the shameful decision of the oppressor's so-called "Supreme Court" and hold the referendum anyway.
  5. When I'm in Bangkok, my passport stays at home unless I visit immigration or a bank. When I travel, my passport comes with me but stays locked up at the hotel after check-in. I wouldn't even consider carrying it with me at all times. I have a Thai DL in my wallet for ID, and pictures of my passport and the latest immigration stamps on my phone. Never been asked for the latter, but it can't hurt.
  6. Yes, that's where people used to go many years ago to get extensions.
  7. Wrong. The ministerial regulation specifically lists non-immigrant visas as well. https://rtehanoi.thaiembassy.org/th/publicservice/46327-announcement-on-the-amount-of-money-that-the-foreigners-must-possess-while-entering-into-the-kingdom-of-thailand?page=5d7de15d15e39c3484001bb9&menu=5d7de15d15e39c3484001bba
  8. No honesty among thieves, corrupt Thai companies stealing from the corrupt Fifa. Heartwarming stuff.
  9. Congrats Cambodia, you rock!
  10. Your land border visa exempt limit will reset in January and you currently get 45 days, so with one more remaining this year and two next year, plus 30 day extensions for each if needed, you can cover quite some time. You could also consider applying for a "classic" (sticker) tourist visa in a neighboring country to buy you some more time without using up your visa exempt entries. Not worth the risk to try to bounce with an eVisa, in my opinion.
  11. I downloaded the fillable version from the pinned topic here. https://aseannow.com/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=533895
  12. At this point, it's pretty much an unknown. They might not actively look for such evidence. Maybe the biggest risk is that an IO realizes that you weren't where you got the visa from (stamps in your passport vs. country the consulate is located in), and refuses to honor it. I don't think that has happened yet, but at some point they might choose to crack down on it.
  13. It's questionable at the very least. Some consulates have told applicants that they can only apply if they're present within their jurisdiction while the eVisa is being processed. You could trick them into believing that's the case, but it might backfire.
  14. Usually you can log into your airline's website to see (amd make changes to) your booking. If they tried this or have another way to verify tickets, I don't know, but that's what I would have done to show them my ticket is legit.
  15. They currently require neither health insurance nor a vaccination certificate.
  16. Not at Suvarnabhumi (what this topic is about). But at Don Mueang, you do get stamped out first. So it's not as unrealistic as it might sound.
  17. You had the required outbound ticket when you were asked for it. Your plans subsequently changed while you were holidaying in Thailand, so you don't use that ticket and apply for an extension within the time you are permitted to stay. You're not doing anything wrong or illegal, people's plans change all the time.
  18. Just apply for an extension, if you want to stay longer. If they question this (and I think that's very unlikely), simply tell them that your plans have changed and that you would like to stay longer. I'd be surprised if you cannot get the extension, but in any case, the worst that can happen is that you won't, so there's no harm in trying.
  19. The OP mentions flying into Bangkok though, so something seems off. If the OP entered Thailand at a Bangkok airport after visa exempt was changed to 45 days, there should be no arrival card involved.
  20. If you show up with the form filled in and a picture attached to it, you will be charged the regular fee of 1000 baht. I could walk straight through to the desk, but obviously they can be busy at times, so I'd also suggest to allow some time.
  21. Regular Brits have always looked poor to me due to their bad teeth, compared with European mainlanders that is. Will things get even worse?
  22. In related news from today, not necessarily great to promote this new visa among potential patients...
  23. Yeah they pretty much just stated the official rules; leaving the friendliness aspect aside there's nothing wrong with that..
  24. Ban Pakard is a border crossing with Cambodia, not Laos. No Covid related requirements at the moment whatsoever.
