Has the "Ukrainien-Fewer" reached Thailand?
swissie replied to swissie's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Draining our meager military arsenal in the West quickly. Maybe, Putin drinking Coffee in Paris is not so far fetched. The russian friendly Hungarians will not fire at any Russians. And then they are at the Austrian border. = in the middle of Europe. -

Human loss on the battlefield was never an issue in Russia. Not under the Tsars, not under Stalin. Plenty of "cannon fodder" available. What we call "cannon fodder" are declared "National Heroes" in Russia after every war. -

It takes years to ramp up weapons production in a meaningful way. -
Thai company if I die?
swissie replied to yeahbutif's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Make a will regardless. The "sleeping partners" may come alive quickly once your gone (doing some fast footwork with the help of an alert Thai Lawyer. With a will, your Lady can always fall back on it. As a last insurance, in case your partners become "creative". This is Thailand. -

Sorry, double post. -
Please tell me. Has the "Ukraine fever" reached Thailand also? In Europe, it's the main news event for a year now. An Army of "Military experts" have popped up, sharing their expertise freely, having taken over the "Talk Show Circus" completely. = What does Putin want, what should he do? What will our wise Western Politicians do? (blessed with wisdom but short of arms) etc etc etc etc Has the "Ukraine Fever" reached the shores of Thailand same same? (Mediawise/the Thai populace?). ------------------------ Naturally, I consider myself as a premier Military Expert. My favorite theory: Putin is fighting this war "on a low flame", way below his military capabilities. But enough war, so that the West constantly has to send arms to the Ukraine. Problem: The West has downsized their Armies to a degree that we don't really have anything to spare. Example: The German Bundeswehr has ammo for 2 "fighting days"!!!!!! Could it be that Putin only waits for the day when the West has sent all the remaining weaponery to the Ukraine? Mobilising 1 million reservists and start marching toward Paris? Slurping Café Crème and eating Croissants in Paris, 4 weeks later? PS: Is there a chance that Thailand would take in "Western War Refugees"? If yes, (as a matter of caution), I would prefer to already book a room at "Lulu's Bar and Grill" in Pattaya.

Come on GG. Never mind Shakespeare. Even dark winter days in Europe can be survived by reading Mark Twain. His mastery of the english language and his humor are unsurpassed. Delightful ! Mark Twain works better on Thai Ladies than Shakespeare. Although a lot may be lost in translation. Thais like it "bombastic". Not Shakespearian bombastic but rather something like "Lick it up" by "Kiss". Full blast of course. Getting tired of a certain Thai Lady? Take her to a Wagner Opera. Have her sit thru it for 4 hours. She will never call you again.

Due to health reasons, for the first time in 22 years, I have not been able to spend part of the European "Winter Months" in Thailand as I used to. Instead having to enjoy all of the "Winter Months" in Europe this year. The sky mostly grey, the facade of buildings mostly grey. The facial expression of people in public mostly grey. A world having been taken hostage into 77 shades of grey, lasting for months. Everything grey in grey. Year after year. At the extreme: I don't know how Swedes and Norwegians can live year round in the North of their country. - Therefore, blessed are the ones, having found an escape route from the horrible European Winters. May it be on a seasonal time frame or on a more permanent basis. Conclusion: Thai Burocracy is more cumbersome than in Europe. A Farang, stepping out of a Thai "Government Institution" (granted that his paperwork is in order), will experiance mostly warm temperatures and warm smiles and a blue sky. Very much opposed to an European "Grey in Grey" scenario lasting for months. Recommendation: Enjoy more and complain less while in Thailand.. ----------------------------------------------------- PS: While staying temporarily in Thailand, your European health insurance offers you protection in form of a "Travel-Insurance" at extremely low premiums. Example: 100'000 $ hospital coverage for a monthly premium of 5 $. * Of course, all of this will stop when you declare official residency in Thailend instead of your home country. Therefore not fit for "Permanent Farang Residents". Unfortunately. * Depending on your "home-country". Just "food for thaught" for Farangs enjoying the very pleasant "Summer-Months" in Europe. Nothing wrong with the Summer in Europe. But wanting to escape the "grey in grey" surroundings (come european fall) remains a very attractive escape route from the European "grey in grey". May it last.

GG is certainly a welcome guest here, by opening new threads. (Few others do). Surely a scholar before he entered the shores of Thailand. These days he comments on "Internet-Inputs", also available in the deepest corners of Wyoming and Montana. Taking up much of his time. Glued to the internet. Getting exited if a female washes his dishes as the only analoge exitemement remaining. Once GG detaches from his digitalised world, and steps outside of the house, experiancing an analog world, it wouzld certainly improve the quality of his future contributions, without having to outline that the rotating rear of a Thai Female while washing dishes is basically the only thing that keeps him in an analog world. Surely, an analog trip to the Isaan would bring him back to reality. Improving his future contributions here greatly. Gaining or restoring credibility. With or without the charms of a analog Thai Lady washing his dishes.

Thanks BP. Libido is gradually improving. As far as erection is concerned, I will try out the little helper called "cialis". I am aware that Cialis lowers blood pressure. I may want to reduce or discontinue my blood pressure medication during "Cialis-Phases". Monitoring my blood pressure carefully during those phases and just see how it goes. Shying away from any TRT procedures.
-
To add: Before Rezum operation my erection and libido were weak. After the operation my erection and libido are even weaker than before. How come?
-
My 2 cts worth: Had my Rezum done on Aug 24. Followed by bacterial infection of bladder and urinary tract. Antibiotics and excrutiating pain while urinating for 3 months. Today I am fine as far as urinating is concerned. But erection very weak and ejaculate consists only of a few drops. Also libido very low. -------------- Note: If a post operative infection occurs, your "quality of life" will drop to zero for 3 months.

Thais are not friendlier than others because they are biologically different from the rest of the world. It's a cultural thing. They are raised with the teachings of Buddha. Among others: Show no outward anger/discontempt. Show no animosity. Be friendly and peaceful at ALL times. On the surface, this makes for a "pacifistic" environment. Two worlds colliding: For the sake of "honesty" and straightforwardness, Farangs prefer to "speak their minds" not afraid of confrontation in order "to clear the air". To be sure: Thais are capable of feelings like anger, hate, revenge, jealousy etc etc just like all the other earthlings. Not having understood this (having been lulled-in by the benighn Thai behaviour) has caused a lot of grief for Farangs and Thais. But mostly for Farangs.

Between 2005 and 2016 the "Tourists" from all over the wold were never considered as "sickos", Enjoying low cost Guest houses and all kinds of music along *The Tourist Mile". Plus "entertainement" after the music stopped. All I want to know is: What's left of it?
-
Plase correct before the "spelling police" steps in. Have you anything to contribute with regard to the above subject? Outside of Spelling Critisism?
-
If your Immigration Officer gives you "The Evil Eye" (for whatever reasons), it becomes "the law".
-
Concerning Kanchanabury: The "Tourist-Mile" (Maenam Kwaeo Road). It had it's hayday. But even on my last visit (2016), I noticed that it was way past it's peak. After it's "natural decline" plus the Covid debacle, I just wonder what's left of the "Tourist Mile" in Kanchanabury.

The laws in Thailand give sometimes cause for amusement. I believe that the laws are mostly meant as "recommendations". To be freely interpreted by the executive branch of the government. PS: There is a law forbidding prostitution.......???
-
OP got "the evil eye" from many. He mentions "them". A case of classic "Farang Rude Behavior", lacking basic diplomatic skills? OP can only gain enlightenment by applying his own paragraph 2. Including phases, where Beer Chang was consumed liberally. HeHe!
-
Thanks, so far the best explanation and elaboration as far as this is concerned. Impressive!

Thanks for the link. But quote: "The study showed that immune function among vaccinated individuals 8 months after the administration of two doses of COVID-19 vaccine was lower than that among the unvaccinated individuals". = This can not possibly be accurate. ---------------------------------- All others: Keep it coming, including "links". Thanks.

Ever since this Corona Virus hit, every 4 Months I got a vaccination. So I accumulated 6 Corona shots in total. The last on June 1st 2022. Now, they will give me no more "boosters" shots. Claiming that I may be "Over-Vaccinated". - Is there something like "Over-Vaccination" with regard to Corona? The only thing I can reliably gather is that after 6 months, the protection-level of practically all of the Vaccines commonly administered, are fast approaching ZERO. Under these circumstances, how can anyone be "Over-Vaccinated"? Quite the opposite, I find. After 6 months everybody is walking around "unprotected". - I have asked the Health Ministry of my home-country. They replied that all of this still basically is "a grey area" with no conclusive answers. In other words: "We have no idea what's going on". After 3 years of Corona, can anyone supply some "conclusive" answers with regard to the above question(s)?

Ahh no benches. Will bring a foldable camping chair along. ???? Hard to get off my ass to take a quick look as long as I am still 9000 KM away from Beach Road. Planning to be in Pattaya on Feb. 1st. I would not be asking, if I were in Pattaya already.

Glad that Fife Star Bar is still around.

McDonalds open again is a positive. I realise that BR is not the same, but as long as there is still "some action after dark" this will suffice.
