  1. There goes the farang persecutions complex of them going only after foreigners breaking the rules and drinking alcohol
  2. Agreed, the Thai medical industry does not do this, but i think the government is manipulating the numbers. Hospitals have no advantage in manipulating numbers.
  3. It all depends on the situation, someone breaking into a gasoline machine doing only financial damages is different from a rape and a murder. I try to avoid fighting and problems if I can. Walking away is the best defense no need to prove myself. Also interfering between Thais is not something I would do as you (probably not you you speak reasonable Thai) would often have no clue who is at fault and what is happening. Plus if you get in a lovers fight both might turn on you (as my police friend has often told me). I have never ever been in a dangerous violent situation with Thais. The people i know also haven't, except one guy but he only tells tall tales.
  4. Thailand is breaking record after record, sad actually. But if the incompetent people in charge had bought vaccines earlier instead of waiting hoping they would not have to spend money so they could buy some subs (for example). Hubris is what made this happen. I wonder if they ever retest the people with the antigen tests or (as i suspect) they wont so the totals wont look too high. Also now there are tests for ones self on the market available at pharmacies those will also not be tested. Though if serious those people would go to a hospital. we got some tests here too so we can test ourselves if need be.
  5. I dont mind being here nowhere else i would want to be. Maybe the French island of Reunion and do some shark fishing. Still i hate moving around I certainly would not want to be back in the Netherlands. I can survive pretty ok in BKK, pool available home gym so most things are ok. Would feel better if i was vaccinated though.
  6. For some reason i can't get royal canin aeging dog food anymore. It went up 50% in price and the stock dried up. So yes seems there is an import prtoblem too. And no for the funny guys the dog food is not for me to eat. Just got an old (slowly dying) dog that seems to live best on that stuff. So there are problems with imports and local food is getting less too because of factories closing. Nothing major though.
  7. My dog bit a friend in the back leg too. He sneaked up behind GF and scared and grabbed her. The dog saw it and did not know it was a joke and gave a small bite. (Bangkaew dog if it really wanted to bite and not warn it could have been worse). I did not fault the dog for protecting its owner. The bite was minor just a puncture of the skin a warning nothing more. So it depends a bit on what has happened. Its not always the dogs fault.
  8. Enough is enough of course. There are limits that people want to go to. Good signal IMHO. Its about time that laws will be made to benefit Thailand and just to protect those in power.
  9. Never had a non delivery that i paid for. Maybe things are better in BKK more developed areas.
  10. I have had a home gym in Thailand for years so i know where to buy and what to buy. But I really havent seen any stuff up for rent. I also think if he can find it it will be really expensive. Anyway i doubt it maybe he should contact some gyms to see if they rent it out.
  11. Really bad for the guy who has the same plate as the fines of the headman would go to him. Especially as the cars look the same. Hope this local official gets punished and does not have much pull.
  12. I think Americans have an other expectation then Europeans (higher) still Europeans expect more then Thais. I have just accepted that with lower prices come lower service. That is just how it is and I am just extra careful with ordering stuff. Saves a lot of problems.
  13. To be honest I havent seen any fitness equipment for rent ever. I own several cardio machines (concept 2 model D, assault air bike, and a cross trainer). Rowers are brutal so are assault bikes the cross trainer is easier (but have to move it to my new home these things are hard to transport). Just think you will have a hard time finding something you can rent.
  14. I like lean licious cost around 85bt per box and 1 box does it for me its not much but im full. Works great for me.
  15. Its still less then doing it manually. Also far safer for patients and faster. Not sure why its so important to you. Most computer stuff can be pretty secure if you want it all depends on the time and effort and money. I think you should not look at the people who do the upkeep alone but also the time saved by all the other departments from having to do everything manually and getting files and making mistakes ect.
  16. Believe you had it but not tested or confirmed ? Then it could have been something else too. Just saying. I really would hate to be one of the guys with long covid (death is worse of course). All i hear from the people who have the long version is that it totally wrecks them saps them of all power and it takes a long time to get back to the original level of fitness / mobility.
  17. Not in Thailand but in my home country old friends and acquaintances. 4 in total 1 died, 1 had not recovered after 2 months, he still had to use a walker while he was a runner and tennis player before and 2 others just got well after a some mild symptoms. In Thailand I know of one person the SG person who first had it took him months to recover to full health. Was a soccer player this was during the first wave. Young and in shape but took months before he could do what he could do before. So it varies and long covid is a thing. Too bad that the deniers will only count the one death and not the ones that have a long sickbed as that is counted as minor.
  18. I buy a lot hate having to do COD as you need to have cash. Prefer to have it paid so i dont have to get cash ready. Its only minor amount of times I got trouble and lazada always solves it faster. So all the time messing around with money does not weigh up against having to contact lazada once in a while. Just a matter of numbers and preference. Never lost a dime on lazada everything always got sorted out.
  19. I dont do cod, too much of a hassle. Thankfully this does not happen often.
  20. Had the same experience, something became packed for weeks, every day excuses from the seller. In the end i got lazada to cancel. Its annoying and lazada says they cancel if status is packed for 4 days but in reality you have to ask for it.
  21. In out group of friends (SG people) there are a lot less people socializing. They really liked socializing as its a bit younger crowd. The curfew is preventing that and also they seem to hold themselves to the 5 ppl rule. Before there were more mini parties that went on in evenings. I mostly did not attend as i could use some time alone covid was a good excuse. So I think a certain part of the population certainly limits his / her movements. But the fact that factories stay open and travel between provinces is not that hard to do the virus will keep spreading. The fact is that the government has not helped people enough and with ever mounting debts is not able to do so. That is why they don't enforce things harsher as there is no money for the fallout. Of course also the unwillingness to spend money on the people instead of on the army and other stupid projects. There have been some opinion pieces in the BKK post from an economics guy who basically says the government has no money and just can't afford this.
  22. Seems PTP made some deal with the government wonder what their cut is.
  23. What are you denying that Buriram got preferential in vaccines treatment because of the government and are you denying that previously villages aligned with the government got better treatment too ? I have no contempt just telling you how it is, I mean there were a lot of PTP people switching sides. Do you think money was the case or did they suddenly change politcal leaning ? Fact is goverment rewards those that vote for them Thaksin did it and the Junta too. That is how they buy loyalty. Do you deny that this is how politics work in Thailand. So in your eyes contempt is when you tell the truth. Im saying that those that vote right get perks, and that that does influence people. Plus I am saying both sides do it with government funds.
