Since CP owns the Makro the paths are full of pallets and boxes, the receipt is not in english anymore, only thai coffee is promoted, we have to stand in huge lines to get vegy priced, products are not priced at all, it's all getting worse since they own it.
Without foreign oversight, the Thais will ruin it

The stores will be full of questionable Chinese products with high markups.

I care about people I wish them the best, I want them to have an opportunity to earn and put food on the table for their family. I want them to move forward with their lives unhindered by the corruption that is holding their country back.
That's a very positive view.
I used to feel the same way, decades ago.
I now no longer separate "the common people" from their leaders as I have found most common people aspire to be exactly like their usually corrupt leaders.
They all generally deserve each other.

Arrogance and incompetence.
Famous traits here

If it is failing or fails altogether then the Thai people miss out on jobs and foreign investment, the numpties at the top have already skimmed their cut.
I don't care about any of them.
And neither do any significant percentage of them care about me or about you.

Amazing how so many Westerners are quick to criticize everything - before engaging brain and without knowing let alone considering the facts!
Enjoy

If Krungrsi did not consider foreign travel to be a potential problem, they would not have felt there was the need to issue such instructions to their staff.
Kudos to them for being proactive in this regard.
It's like saying to a teenager
"If you have never had sex, why did you feel the need to tell your friends that you have slept with more than 20 girls?"

At least Krungsri are being proactive with this. Maybe not perfect, at least they are doing something.
Yes. They are talking.
It's amazing how little about Thailand people understand.
We Westerners are unstoppably gullible.
Simply say the right words and we open up our hearts (and wallets)

What a narrow minded attitude. Krungsri is part of an international financial group (MUFG) and there must be many occasions when their staff have to travel abroad. And what about holidays?
Get your head out of the sand!
Wrong. You imagine. I know as I worked for several and ran one of these types of multinationals.
The Thais are rarely sent anywhere.
The Japanese joint banks have a handful of senior Japanese people who manage the Thais and liaise between the Japan head office and the local staff.
There might be a tiny number of Thais who can speak any language other than Thai and who on rare occasion travel for business.

Could well be- don’t forget Songkran is just around the corner and many may be planning a lovely overseas trip with all the cheap airfares available !
Well a company wouldn't have domain over what people do with their personal time. To me, the announcement is to discourage or ban overseas travel for work matters.
And if that's the intention, it is likely more of typical Thai face giving.
Thailand has almost no local companies where people travel overseas in any significant number.
One of the only ones would be PTT.
The majority of Thai business is famously isolated from the global business community.
-
Cute.
They want everyone to think they are globally connected companies.
How many people from Krungsri need to travel out of Thailand on business and how often?
Maybe they are talking about group shopping trips to Hong Kong and Japan.

Offering to fight them 1 on 1 or even 1 on 2, and to Marquis of Queensbery rules isn't likely to be well received, understood and certainly not accepted!
Best to avoid all conflict with Thais in Thailand. Ain't gonna end well, one way or another.
Best to avoid all CONTACT if one can.

Half the problem is that the Thai language is too rudimentary to efficiently communicate nuances.
The other half is that Thais themselves often find it challenging to communicate in a clear and consistent manner without lots of context because they have only ever used Thai.

Very juvenile writing.

Think you are the one with lack of understanding, they are doing it to try to protect YOU..........
They are doing it to try to protect TOURISM and then THAIS.
And I suspect you know this as they make it very clear they are only protecting Thais.

Smarter people than me have done this.
Yes, millionaires and billionaires, usually for tax avoidance purposes. And they don't then clown themselves to the locals for their enjoyment (and secret ridicule).
As another poster mentioned, we would very much appreciate knowing exactly what you are proud of.
In hundreds of years, it has never been explained to any Westerners. We are usually just told we don't understand or indeed can't understand Thainess.
We FINALLY have a Westerner here who obviously understands it.
Can you explain it to us?
