Ukraine must cede territory in peace talks, says US
Dcheech replied to Social Media's topic in World News
No, we are claiming that Donald Trump is a soviet, er, Russian asset, either through honey trapping and money investment in his golf courses & resorts when US & western banks would not, likely both. Putin owns him & his MAGA heads. Capeesh- 152 replies

Kremlin Slams Macron’s Nuclear Comments as ‘Confrontational’
Dcheech replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Only you would pretend its an issue. -
No idea how it works. ill try and get up a review. Home pro is on my feed, & they were advertising it today. As a coffee junky, with a newly installed induction stove, I'll buy one, even if not a serious moka pot drinker.

Kremlin Slams Macron’s Nuclear Comments as ‘Confrontational’
Dcheech replied to Social Media's topic in World News
you guys ? Anything more specific? Malaysia Flight was 17 shot down in 2014 by Russian forces, disguised as Russian Ukrainian forces. I made sure not to book any airline flying over Russia or The Ukraine airspace, after that. More expensive in a few cases, sure, but its my cash. Even back then Putins true mind set was easy to see, -
Kremlin Slams Macron’s Nuclear Comments as ‘Confrontational’

Because isolationist Republican senators blocked all attempts by President Roosevelt wanted to send aid in 39 and 40, until they were able, barely able, to get lend lease through. Something the Republican party STILL doesn't like to remember, or talk about. After Dec 7, those very same senators and their party, who had stopped aid from being sent to nations fighting Nazism, wrapped themselves in the flag and became, wait for it, Super Patriots. Some things never change. -
I'm sorry to disturb the sensibilities of The Good View fans & frequenters. However I go to Riverside, and have for, uh, is it, four decades or is it five now?! No reason to change and no reason per my dinner at The Good View. Again sorry if I bothered you with my review, which is what this OP was about, if I read that correctly. Still I'll try and do better, but ... it is what it is. Cheers

There was nothing to recommend The Good View over going to a nearby restaurant I frequent. Friends who have been there since agree with my analysis. However, excuse, let me be specific, the food was good, but less than the Riverside and for a higher price. They also did not have the selection of Thai & western food that the Riverside has. The music, I can't really compare as that was just getting started when we left. No reason to go back, not that I hate it. You pay for a meal & cover the bar tab, I'll meet you there, happily so. On the other hand, The Riverside; I go there with my wife, with friends, & even took mommy & daddy a decade back. I took them because I could count on a nice sunset ambience on the river, with a mix of Thai and western food that they would like. PS Read my original post again - nothing to do with the staff, everything to do with sister in law & her husband.

Many years back. The Good View's food was fine, albeit nothing memorable. The dinner that night was memorable. Nothing to do with restaurant, it was the people. We are technically related, the first and last time we had a meal together. No reason to switch from going to the Riverside. Been doing that for decades now.

Is it possible Trump is trying to sabotage the world economy?
Dcheech replied to spidermike007's topic in Political Soapbox
Never ascribe to malice that which can be explained by ignorance, incompetence or stupidity. - N.B. With six bankruptcies to his name, Donald Trump easily meets the 'incompetence, stupidity' part of the statement. -
China Declares Readiness for War Amid Escalating Tensions with the US
Dcheech replied to Social Media's topic in World News
After Trump helps Putin isolate & absorb the Ukraine & then destroys NATO. European nations will have to defend their own, and/or make accommodations with the powers that be. This will affect trade. You trade with friends, allies first & those you have to kowtow too. In the same way Taiwan given to China, South Korea, Japan, Australia, Indonesia etc., will all have to make accommodations with the new power & trade relations restructured. "Free trade" is a concept, less a reality, always has been. As Russia produces frick all, exports oil & rocks. The real winner is China and Celestial leader Xi. Trump with six bankruptcies & a functional 7thgrade education has no clue & never will. All this US neo isolation right wing bombast, will not benefit the US economically, it will be the opposite. NOTE - Pick up that Costco 44 count box next trip back. This excrement show is going to be epic. -
And that weather front they were talking about arrived last night. Cool & the mountain appears out from the haze/smoke, with streaky clouds off to the east. Could smell a hint of smoke on the wind last night. Assume burning in Doi Saket area. Still a nice reprieve.

Trump is setting the stage, to go after Social Security just like Medicare. That from his address from congress the other night. He was burbling Its a chaotic mess of waste, fraud and abuse. He claimed to have uncovered shocking levels of incompetence and probable fraud in the Social Security program. Say what you will about these Dem socialist programs, Trumps much needed cuts will also clean out a lot of the two bit American retirees here in Thailand and you know that is a good thing.

Uncertainty Over U.S. Troops in Europe Sparks Anxiety Among Allies
Dcheech replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Al Qaeda was based in Afghanistan, they had to be taken out. Taliban was full in support of AQ, so no problem with getting rid of them. Going into Iraq was where everything went wrong. Who did that anyway?! Saudi ... The US ok's a private charter back to Saudi, post 9/11. That for VIP types, including some who likely knew & aided Al Qaeda operatives. That was done under jrBush, the last Republican president before Donald Trump. Hmm and now we have another Republican in office. One wonders who he is helping?! Rhetorical question we all know who he helps. The US has a 'Manchurian President'. -
Not a Lazada order-er. However Hillkoff should have some on that platform. A Thai company that has decent if not spectacular coffee. Unless things have changed ( they have not - just checked) There is a tax or tariffs on imported coffee. Green beans imported into Thailand, roasted here, taxed minimally. However coffee roasted outside of Thailand, then imported in, taxed heavily. Thailand and Lazada have a growing number of these international beans. The issue, who knows what grades of Arabica, the Thai roasters purchase. I've never had anything really good, more on the good but kind of bland side of things. Note - there is a coffee shortage right now with both higher prices & shortages of preferred beans. I can deal with a lot of evil excrement, but not without coffee.

I take it you missed MSG & Bobert, 'The Karen Kids', at Bidens SOTU address. Heckling throughout the speech. However likely that does not even register, if you live in FOXworld. "abject seething hate" ... What's that word MAGA's love to use ... snowflake. -

British Man Arrested in Thailand After 25-Year Visa Overstay
Dcheech replied to snoop1130's topic in Chiang Mai News
A person on one of the local Facebook groups said they knew him. Supplied little info but said he was a 'harmless individual, but a sad story'. Ok, maybe on the lam , but that is a reach. However if so we will likely here about it. Also stated, he was getting money from family back in the UK. Whatever that means. At the end, I just think it sad, that's no way to live. -

Celestial leader Xi will move fast. When you have a donkey at the poker game; a person losing their chips at the table, essentially giving away money by making terrible decisions. You take take advantage of it. Donald Trump is the biggest one in a century. Donkey that is. As per first term, if you wait thinking you have time, anything could happen, like Wuhan. Need to strike when the iron is hot. -
Bar Deaths Spark Fear Among Backpackers Over Tainted Alcohol
Dcheech replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
There is methanol. Although the exact amount probably depends on the mash & other factors. An old Scottish maxim was tossing the 'heads and tails'. Throwing out the beginning and the ending of a distillation run, because it had, or could have, a higher methanol content. Bootleggers rarely care about safety, especially if they are not selling for repeat business. 🫤
