Agree, I used to prepare HGV's for testing in the UK, and take them to be tested. One month before I would have to remove all brake drums and inspect/test them, all rubber diaphragms would be replaced in the actuators, and new 'O' Rings in the foot valve, everything was checked from the back to the front and underneath, from the Timing of the indicators from memory 60-70 times a minute not faster or slower, to even the lift on cab door hinges, air break buzzers and gauges, how long it took to recharge the air. Oh yes also a load was hydraulically applied on the back at the testing station, for the rolling road test.

Four Charges Filed Against Driver in Bus Fire That Killed 23

Now the truth is slowly emerging, so he did try to extinguish the fire, and help those inside, and Astoundingly the Bus is 54 <deleted> years old !!, that had recently had a Benz engine fitted, I wonder how old that engine was ? I doubt very much it was a new Engine. When was the Bus last serviced and checked, the LTO don't do tests to any real world normal standards, if you have any knowledge of how testing HGV or PSVs go and watch them testing, it is abysmal, they don't even jack up the wheels even to check the wheel bearings, (same with cars) It's a disgrace. Agree A simple bit of research would tell one in 5min that a minimum of 2'' is required for foot traffic, 4" for light cars, and 6" for trucks, plus of course re-bar or mesh, and a hardcore base, there is a unfinished condo block that could supply all the hardcore needed so I hear. -

You are wrong Both doors are on the left and were open, the Bangkok Post Show a vid of the bus burning. They would have had to go down flights of stairs, one at the front down by the driver, and one in the middle of the bus. -

What about the teachers surely they should have evacuated the kids or did they try ? Seems the fire took control very quickly so maybe it was impossible to save anyone. Was there a crush for the doors ? horrible way to die. RIP to those who died. -

I agree, looking at that fire, I don't think one extinguisher would have helped, that also brings up the question did his bus have a extinguisher, did he use that one first.- 167 replies

Lots of things are required by law in Thailand but most ignore the rules, you are also required to wear a helmet, have working lights, don't drink and drive, use the left hand lane, indicate when turning or changing lanes, stop at stop at stop signs, drive on the left hand side of the road, do not speed, stop at the scean of an accident, don't carry a gun or big knife in public, your lucky if they even have a license, the list is pretty much endless. It summary ALL traffic laws are ignored, the fines are small, and the cops don't do their job. -
