  1. as stated they were mixing up tdac (TM6) and ETA ETA is only for visa-exempt visitors The ETA’s aim is to enhance the screening and tracking of foreign nationals entering Thailand https://www.fragomen.com/insights/thailand-electronic-travel-authorization-requirement-for-visa-exempt-nationals-forthcoming.html
  2. Here is the article where they discuss TDAC and ETA Travellers to Thailand nervous about new entry system being tested for security purposes by police https://www.thaiexaminer.com/thai-news-foreigners/2025/03/30/travellers-to-thailand-nervous-about-new-entry-system-being-tested-for-security-purposes-by-police/ Tourist levy linked to the new ETA system could provide automatic insurance cover for foreign visitors Significantly, this tourist levy is planned to come with automatic insurance coverage of up to ฿500,000. Therefore, it has been broadly supported by the Thai foreign tourism industry.
  3. the article is mixing up TDAC with ETA which is only valid for visa exempt tourists The ETA will be fully implemented by June 2025. The e-Visa service and the ETA system will be integrated into a single online application submission platform. All visa-exempt foreign nationals entering by land, air or sea will be required to obtain an ETA before entering Thailand, except nationals of Laos, Cambodia, and Malaysia, who will be waived from the ETA requirement. Additionally, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports plans to introduce a THB 300 Thai Travel Tax, pending Cabinet approval in January 2025. This tax, requiring pre-arrival online registration and payment, may affect the ETA timeline. https://www.fragomen.com/insights/thailand-electronic-travel-authorization-requirement-for-visa-exempt-nationals-forthcoming.html
  4. Clearly you haven't read the user guide as you can only complete the TDAC no earlier than 72 hours from their arrival date which is no earlier than 72 hours Malaysia has a similar digital arrivals card system called MDAC In Malaysia not all passport holders are eligible to access e-gates but for those that are eligible its a no brainer 2-3 minutes to clear immigration versus 30-45 minutes queuing to see an mmigration officer
  5. system works very well in other countries In Malaysia for example if you countries passport is eligible to access e-gate it is possible to clear immigration in about 2-3 minutes In my opinion this option will be gratefully received by tourists who visit Thailand many times
  6. user guide states Download the Thailand Digital Arrival Card. You can also download or print a copy from the email address provided for the duration of your stay in Thailand. print a copy and you don't need a phone
  7. Thailand is planning to implement an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) system for visa-exempt visitors June 2025 https://www.fragomen.com/insights/thailand-electronic-travel-authorization-requirement-for-visa-exempt-nationals-forthcoming.html#:~:text=The situation, may affect the ETA timeline. If it is implement the same way as the Malaysian MDAC where First-Time Registration: Upon arrival, first-time users from eligible countries must register their passports at a manual counter, after which they can use the autogates for subsequent trips. Then it will be possible to enter and leave Thailand using automated immigration clearance gates without ever queuing to see an immigration officer if you have both TDAC and ETA
  8. In this Video Vance acknowledges Denmark past military assistance and sacrifices What about the many Danes who lost their lives in the war on terror fighting alongside the United States?" Well look we obviously honor the sacrifice of our Danish friends in the war on terror 20 years ago just as for example the French honor the sacrifice of Americans in Normandy 80 years ago But recognizing that there are important security partnerships in the past does not mean that we can't have disagreements with allies in the present about how to preserve our shared security for the future And that's what this is about
  9. For years, Thailand has imposed high tariffs on imported cars to protect its local car industry. These import taxes can be as high as 80%, which adds a huge amount to the price of foreign vehicles. For example, a car priced at 720,000 baht ($20,000) in another country can balloon to 1.3 million baht or more due to these tariffs. On top of that, excise taxes based on engine size and emissions are applied, along with a 7% VAT (Value Added Tax) on the car’s total cost, including import duties and excise taxes. Additional charges like registration fees, road tax, and customs processing fees further inflate the final price. High car prices in Thailand are primarily due to import taxes and local taxes. Import duties can range from 187% to 328% depending on engine size, significantly inflating the cost of foreign vehicles. https://thethaiger.com/guides/automotive/why-are-cars-so-expensive-in-thailand Import tariffs are only the starting point when you add all the other taxes the final total is much higher Türkiye has increased additional tariffs on gasoline and hybrid cars imported from China from %40 to %50, effective January 1, 2025. https://www.turkiyetoday.com/business/turkiye-raises-tariffs-on-chinese-cars-to-50-100107/#:~:text=Türkiye
  10. Yes, Thailand imposes a high import tariff of 80% on motor vehicles, including those from the USA, to protect its domestic automotive industry. Here's a more detailed explanation: High Tariffs: Thailand has historically maintained high tariffs on imported motor vehicles, including cars, to support its local automotive industry. 80% Tariff: The standard import tariff for motor vehicles, including those from the USA, is 80% of the vehicle's value. Other High Tariffs: Besides cars, Thailand also imposes high tariffs on other goods that compete with locally produced items, such as motorcycles (60%), distilled spirits (54% or 60%), and certain plastic articles (30%). Protection of Local Industry: The high tariffs are intended to protect the Thai automotive industry and encourage local production. Exceptions: Additional Taxes and Duties: Besides the import tariff, there are other taxes and duties to consider, such as excise tax and VAT. 16. Viriyah Insurance is about to increase premiums for EVs, admitting losses of “claims + expenses” exceeding 100%, laments the costs of “repair costs - labor costs - spare parts costs” for EVs are 50% higher than combustion engines, but the premiums are only 15% higher. 17. According to MG Thailand the most expensive models are MG Cyberster starting price B2,499,000 and MG Maxus 9 starting price B2,499,000 neither are pickup trucks

  19. I seen many people where they don't take into account the person behind them Once fixed shell seats are in place on every plane problem resolved What is a fixed shell seat? The fixed shell seat is designed so that the seat reclines forward and down within the fixed space of the seat, instead of back into the space of the seat behind.
  20. I disagree and there are more and more airlines now adopting fixed shell seats to so recliner stealing space is no longer an issue The fixed shell seat is designed so that the seat reclines forward and down within the fixed space of the seat, instead of back into the space of the seat behind When a person in front reclines they are stealing the space of the person behind in the same way that if an obese person is sitting next to you their body mass can encroach into another seat
  21. And the same rule should apply to recliners every click on the recline should invoked a debit charge on your payment card and the person behind you should receive those funds as you have stolen their space
  22. A35 has esim prices should drop as A36 is available now
  23. I agree with your point that the entire auto industry is experiencing a downturn in sales Hozon Auto laying off Thai workers as part of restructuring plan after local sales drop by over 45% this year Chinese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer Hozon Auto is looking to terminate 400 jobs in Thailand as part of its business restructuring plan, a news source said on Wednesday. Shanghai-based Hozon Auto is reportedly suffering a liquidity problem stemming from declining sales, forcing it to suspend production at its Zhejiang factory and cut jobs. https://www.nationthailand.com/business/automobile/40044519
  24. Makes you wonder why the Board of Investment didn't decline the EV manufacturers in Thailand request to extend production deadlines set by government EV 3.0 incentive scheme as sales have not met expectations in 2024
  25. Thanks for the advice but I will stick with sales numbers
