Absolutely. Oz pension with current exchange is 40 k well below the 65 k.Yes I totally get it......But could the person not tell lies to obtain that legal document?
I know its an offence, but come on , you know as well as I do some folk dont give a rats ass about something like that
But it's the structure of the legal document that removes all responsibility from the embassy.
As somebody already mentioned you could pledge your alliance to the almighty chicken [emoji215] God and as long as you pay 2k and its your signature then they will rubber stamp it without needing to see the chicken

Which makes you wonder why the brits didn't adopt this simple work around instead of throwing their citizens under the bus
And that's exactly the same process/method that applies for the U.S. citizens and their Embassy.

Oz does but it's different. It's a statutory deceleration and a legal document. The embassy only verifies the signature after the person has written it. The embassy is not held liable in anyway using that method it falls back on writer.Ask yourself this then....
Do the American, Aussie embassies currently show proof, or do they just accept under affirmation, what their customers tell them? -
How are you treated? And look how we are treated!

Seriously I doubt they are datingPlease. no it is not. I see gay guys all the time with their lady boys out on dates. Here in Hua Hin they are in malls staring at each other like high school kids and holding hands. and how can it be straight if there are two penises involved?
and before you start calling me names, i lived in West Hollywood and had many friends and clients who are gay. I can spot them a mile away.
But to say ladyboys are a straight thing is not accurate.
My ex wife had a lot of gay friends and went out clubbing etc but although it looked like a date it obviously wasn't- 2

Nice find. I guess the ozzies at least can breath a sigh of relief. Here's the quote from the OzEmb site today, in the 'Notarial Services' section:
"We understand that the British Embassy in Bangkok will no longer be providing British nationals with letters comfirming their income from 1 January 2019.
"The Australian Embassy does not issue income letters. Our national services include the witnessing of Australian statutory declarations for Australian citizens, or for use in Australia. This process remains unchanged."
I'm still amazed the British embassy threw the USA embassy under the bus by announcing on their behalf that they to will stop income letters

Now I know why many thais end up with wing nut ears
I've heard this goes on a lot out in the sticks and even brothers pimping out their sisters. I dont know if there is any truth in it though -
PMSL [emoji23]I just tapped my Mrs on the head. Nothing happened.
If she was wearing underwear they should have fallen off.
Take another look to be sure -
You can still be all over it for a 5$ lady drink. Go home tap the Mrs on the head and it's win win all roundSo in 20 words or less. If it was not so expensive you'd be all over it. -

Isn't it 200 baht plus four a pie? Growing up in oz I always looked at pies as a quick fix to fill the hole. Certainly not a dine in experience.Tinnies..in Jomtien has the best pies outside australia. It's an Aus owner with a serious baking kitchen that's immaculate. He does eat in meals. Also so does a huge selection of pastries. I wish they'd put it on foodpanda. They have large sizes that are frozen if you have an oven for reheat.
Rave reviews on google and tripadvisor. Worth a trip to stock up.
Will have to try one next time in jomtien and see if I'm wrong -
"And please dont reply by saying retirees do contribute by keeping a thai wife and her brood of kids from a thai husband and look after her family.Yes Im a new to joining in on the comments people make on this site. But i have read the post and even copied direct from the Govt website the details for you all to see.By the way i have been looking at this site for 18 months...so not wet behind my ears.
Just decided to join in with this discussion as most people on here are up in arms about what is happening.
Cant see the problem really...why travel half way across the world to live counting the bht.
During my year living in Bkk i encounted many many retirees moaning about currency exchange dwindling their money.
And about having to now go rent a place for 3000 bht a month to survive.
I was just making my comments known in this free world of communication that if you dont have the money why stay there.
I enjoyed Thailand whilst living there but find it expensive apart from housing to rent and transport.
Food and drink expensive compared to the UK.
And looking back on a lot of comments over the last 18 months on here re cost of living in Thailand
I have not said anything different that many others have said about it being expensive now.
As i also said...if you cant abide by the financial rules laid down by the Govt of the land you choose to live then seems maybe you must not be contributing to the economy of the country.
They are now more interested in having tourists that come spend lots of money for 2 weeks or a month then go.
Not people that decide to retire with little or no finances to go to the shopping malls and spend thousands of bht every week or month.
And please dont reply by saying retirees do contribute by keeping a thai wife and her brood of kids from a thai husband and look after her family.
Thats not helping the economy...thats just the retiree throwing his money away.
Thats not helping the economy...thats just the retiree throwing his money away."
Ain't that the truth!

If you mean Cambodia then they most certainly have made changes recently
Father, rather than make a claim without any substantiation whatsoever, can you provide some reliable links to support your post?
Thanks for that.

They have pavements but they were stolenThe pavement outside the Kasikorn Bank on South Pattaya Road is a parking place for motorcycles and has easy access via the kerb side ramps ... one just has to sidestep the motorcycles as they drive up onto the parking facility... TIT. It's a good job most of the Sois in Pattaya don't have pavements...... well not ones you could walk on anyway !! -
Your probably in the country though. I'm in bangkok surrounded by a zillion resteraunts.Really? I have friends with kitchens that have full sized ovens with 4 gas burners on top.
Can't think of a single meal I would cook in an oven. Back home yes eg leg of lamb, beef roast..
I just use the Slow cooker, a stir frying pan and the microwave is great for fatty meat.

We are all here or at least came here for the girls. How does that stack up in Panama? The screws just keep tightening here. 90 day check in's, address registrations, more involved and complicated process. I have to come to Thailand on business and have no choice in the matter but I am happy to recommend Panama to people who are fed up with what Thailand is becoming. You can still get your residency in Panama with just a pension or social security of $1000 USD/month and a one time cost of $7-8k USD for the residency program. I did mine years ago and love the fact that I can own land and a home as well as enjoy permanent residency and never have to worry about immigration or a check in every again. This is the company I used if anyone is interested https://www.joyful-feet.com
Even for you guys that aren't retired regardless of age I think it is about $8k USD for permanent residency.- 1

I don't know any one who lost even 1 baht through a bank shutdown hereYeah, well if they are so safe why is it the max any acct is insured for loss is 1 million baht? In the US it is 500K and even then no one has ever lost a penny in the US for a bank closure. And can you imagine what you would have to go thru to collect? Probably have to hire a Thai attorney for 2 million to start with and then they gonna tell you that if you didn't deposit the money you wouldn't have lost it. lol Kinda like a road accident where the drunk Thai driver hits you and of course it is your fault for being on the bike in the first place. lol
However I do recall financial institutions Going down in the USA sub prime crisis
Also had brits transfered their cash to thai baht in a thai bank they would be laughing now.
Your theory is flawed- 3

If I had a choice between 800k in the bank or 65k a month for life I know which one I would choose.

He is from the 'never invest in Thailand what you can't walk away from " brigadeIf posters are afraid of even keeping money in banks in Thailand they shouldn't even be in the country in the first place, some of the banks are some of the safest around, Bank of Ayudhya for example is part of Bank Mitsubishi (Tokyo) which has assets in the trillions of USD.
Old dinasoures throwing around that same old chestnut until they actually believe it.- 2

Tell me why immigration don't require income proof for oz statuary declaration but do so for the yanks? The US Consulate still provides the letter BUT Immigration requires proof. So the letter means nothing in reality. Another epic scam. And it used to be you could simply show your Social Security being deposited in a US bank. Now, not so sure. You could even have a million bucks cash in a US bank and be refused renewal. Even God cannot understand why he did what he did. lol
I know Americans who are staying here that couldn't if they needed proof
You maybe talking about a specific office only
-
"Yes we are aware that the US embassy will also be stopping their notarised income letter. Please contact them directly for further information"As an American I am cofused? So The British Embassy is now announcing the future actions of the American Embassy? I have an appointment next to get the Income Affidavit. Should I cancel my appointment?
I can't see why they would make that up. It's also very strange they would volunteer that information before an announcement- 1
