The super rich. Where did you money come from? In many parts of the world, nobody cares. If you have money, you are a GOD. A living God.
As 10,000 expats living on 20 baht noodle soup yell, "Life isn't fair!!"
No, it is not my good backpacker, expat, noodle drinker........no, it is not.
4 billion super yacht. It's not like the war just started, and yet they roam free......
living the super rich lifestyle.....
OK, time to eat my noodle soup
You forget that between the noodle soup eater and the super rich, there's the middle class! The middle class can afford a lot of confort, can travel, can visit Icon Siam without shopping anything! The middle class rocks! Down with the super rich, the middle class is the saviour of Thailand!

Why should Thailand be responsible to educate tourists about other countries laws? You wrote "everyone knows" so there you have it.
Also, one must be really dumb to take cannabis from country to country, even if the use of cannabis is legal in both countries. I know I wouldn't travel with cannabis from here to Amsterdam or the other way around. Will you?
I actually got this idea from posters I have seen inside many Coffee shops in Amsterdam, advising
people to get rid of all cannabis before boarding an international flight.

Thailand should start a campaign to educate young travellers about the surrounding countries
attitude towards cannabis. I know about a recent case where a 20 something was nabbed at the airport in Bali, coming from Bangkok with 2.5 grams. As everyone knows, Indonesia sees any drug offence as very serious and for larger ammounts it can mean death penalty.
There should be a campaign to educate people travelling abroad to get rid of all cannabis
before boarding an international flight.

My 10 Yr old son just got covid from school, I presume its b4/5 as he already had B2 and all of us got that then, about 10 weeks ago. I'm not vaccinated nor is he the Thai wife had 2 shots of Pfizer and she got sick for 8 days the first infection.
This time we isolated for 7 days and I never caught it nor the wife, but my son tested positive for 5 days.
He had a bad consistent cough, and a lot of phlegm, the wife and I not even a snivel even though we were very much exposed while he was infected.
This must show that natural immunity was present in unvaccinated and vaccinated.
B4/5 is what's circulating around NZ at present.
What kind of father are you, to let your 10 year old face Covid without being vaccinated? Sorry man, someone has to say the truth!

The world has a strong interest in visiting Thailand, but after all the Covid shutdown, things will take time to recover. Of course the airlines will understand the stronger demand when it happens and they will add more flights. Supply and demand tend to match.

Elon Musk does not enjoy a spliff.
Does he look or sound like a pothead to you?
He was on a radio show and the guy interviewing him was a pothead and started to smoke a spliff, so the did only one drag, just to be nice. He has too much gray matter between his ears to be a pothead.

1. Cannabis for recreational use is still illegal. Thai or tourist, you caught using recreational (smoking or edibles above 0.02% THC), you will likely be arrested.
2. The sale of consumables must show a THC content of no more than 0.02%. If proven to be more than that, seller will be arrested.
3. Legalisation is for medical purposes only AND does not include foreigners, either resident or tourist. If you have a medical condition whereby Cannabis can help, before you can legally use you need to get a license from Thai FDA. If caught purchasing without a license, both buyer and seller can be arrested.
4. Legalisation laws only pertain to Thai citizens with regard to growing, pension of plants, production, and sale. The only exception is that a Thai startup may apply for a foreign partner whose stake is no more than 33% ownership if said foreign partner can be shown to have knowledge and expertise that Thai owner does not have.
These issues have also been addressed in Western news reports warning their citizens to be wary of using and/or purchasing Cannabis products in Thailand.
So, the question is, why are so many expats and tourists jumping on the bandwagon. It seems a bit premature.
Your policeman source is most likely to be flawed as most policemen are high school dropouts with low intelligence levels...

Is is and always was Thaksin's party. There is no way to take Thaksin out of it.
If politicians want to make sure that nobody thinks they are connected to Thaksin then they should stay away from that party.
But obviously lots of Thai politicians still want to be friends with the fugitive criminal.
Of course, this man has loads of money to finance their re-election. He is the original "walking ATM" who set the trend for this expression!

Good, old Shinawatra family always trying to sneak in its way back to power! Keep on! Democracy dies as a result!

I will still wear mine in public for a while yet, for my own protection, but, the main purpose of the mask is for other people's protection. If you know you are carrying the COVID-19 virus or having some symptoms, I encourage you to wear one also.
You got the point. I was so happy with my clean face until about a week ago, I started to have some symptoms, self tested and bingo! Positive for Covid. Then I started to wear a mask again, of course. The virus is now considered endemic in many parts of the world, that means it's still circulating, people are still getting infected. The strains now are more contagious and weaker. Anyone dreaming that the pandemic is over is in for a surprise!

This is so long overdue. The continuation of the pass system for this long, has contributed to further sabotage of the tourism industry. Now, that they have finally scrapped it, they might be able to attract up to 250,000 tourists a month for the next few years. Maybe. Everything has changed, and Thailand has been forgotten, and left behind. The unemployed know who to blame for that, and hopefully they will finally be ousted in the next election. One can only hope it happens in a humiliating manner. Cha Cha will only be a very, very bad memory, in the years to come.
The democratic process is rigged to favor Cha Cha, sorry!

They already announced last month, that the mask mandate for outdoors would be lifted on June 15th. Then, they changed their minds. So, if this really happens, it will be HUGE. Life will be a bit more normal without having to wear face diapers everywhere we go.
I have already stopped wearing a mask outdoors. Enough. That is on a cowardly administration, that has deliberately chosen to NOT pay attention to, nor follow the science. I have chosen to be disobedient. They made the announcement, then they changed their small minds. That is not on me.
I totally understand your point, wearing a mask is a hassle most of the time. But you are making a mountain out of a molehill as we're coming out of a deadly pandemic and Thailand has chosen to be more conservative than many other countries regarding Covid. That's all, in fact when I look at the choices that the Thai government has taken since the beginning of the pandemic, my God, it has been ultra conservative. Tourism has been decimated, of course it could have been otherwise.

Yes, Thailand is a great place. But like any country there's the good, the bad, and the ugly. The Thai people is what makes this country so good to live in and the weather is great and it's cheap to live here. I think most retirees that are on pensions would not be able to live on their pensions in their home country .However with this fine weather there are a few draw backs like being careful when you eat out as bad bacteria grows at such a high rate in hot climates. Stay heathy and you will live a long and happy live here in Thailand ,I know I will.
Bacteria also loves bad hygiene habits..

It's very tempting to ride a motorbike in Thailand, but due to the unpredictability of most vehicles on the road, I avoid it at all cost. RIP Keith, ????

Cannabis has always been widely available in Thailand anyway. In my first trip to the Kingdom back in the 90s, the waiter of a resort I was staying at on Koh Phangan would sell ready made joints to the guests and we could smoke in the rooms. But I would never buy from unknown people as there has always been many cases of the sellers turning the customer to the police. I hope that Thailand remains a Cannabis friendly country!

Anutin challenged for decriminalisation of cannabis ahead of appropriate legislation

The gennie is out of the bottle! Sorry guys, there's no way to convince him to go back there!
Let's now create some legislation for the gennie! It all works no matter which way you start from. One day Bangkok will be the Amsterdam of Asia with many great Coffee shops serving great cannabis!
