  1. We tried repairing em years ago in the UK but the repair did not last long. Maybe things have improved? Is there anywhere in Thailand that repairs ecu?
  2. In 20 years, only once have a been able to do the 90 day report online. I can submit and they e mail me to confirm acceptance of application. Then a couple of days later comes and e mail..... rejected (with no explanation or reason why)
  3. Am finding that cover is full of holes like Swiss cheese. Specific diseases are not covered. There is a 1 year moratorium on some conditions before cover commences. So you have to pay for your first year and these items are not covered. Last December I had an accident where a car ran over me. The driver's insurance company representative came to Bumrungrad Hospital and told me the driver's insurance covered me. Now, months later, comes a bill from Bumrungrad, whose cashier originally accepted the insurance.
  4. It is a long time since I worked in the motor trade but ecu only needs to be plugged in to your car. Programming ecu with a laptop is only done by those wanting to modify their car. Repairing ecu seldom goes well, buy a new one or a used one from a breakers yard. Several models may use the same ecu. So long as the part number on the ecu matches, you can use it. 170000 baht .... Jesus!
  5. But do they know what they are doing? I have often thought that the Thais should not be let loose on something as complex as medicine and the other countries you mention are likely worse. I hear Singapore General Hospital is good.... but the cost?
  6. Is there one in Bkk or Phuket?
  7. Point taken but.... Have you seen what Thai hospitals are charging now? Not to mention some charging Farangs double.
  8. What happens to a man's brain during sex? The little head does the thinking for the big head and his wallet is open.
  9. Hello Sheryl. Age 70. No pre-existing conditions.
  10. I would like recommendations for Health Insurance companies. Looking for proper insurance at the most reasonable cost. How do the Thai companies compare with foreign insurance? Do any provide real cover or is it full of more holes than Swiss cheese? Thanks to all for your comments.
  11. Does not matter what legal rights a Farang has. If the Thais want to beat you up and take what is yours then they will do it. Welcome to the land of smiles.
  12. Better to use a UK address if you still have one and have it paid into a UK Bank. Otherwise if they know you are abroad you will not get index linked annual increases.
  13. I will believe it when I see hospital waiting lists coming down.
  14. It would help others respond if you advised us what was the reason for rejection?
  15. A lot depends on how old your battery is. Their lifespan is shorter if the car is not used regularly. Heat does not help either. If you get 2-3 years out of a Thai battery that is about par for the course. No charger will help when the battery is past it as it will not hold the charge long.
  16. "reputational damage." What reputation do the Thais have? All this because the Thais know they cannot compete on a level playing field with foreigners.
  17. You mean there is something else one does with a girl?
  18. How is he going to pay when he gets in the shop?
  19. Wait n see as none of this may ever happen. I can't be arsed to file. If they want me they'll have to come get me.
  20. Can anyone explain to me why when advertising my car (in Thai) they respond asking questions that are already covered in my advert? Duh it hurts my brain.
  21. They don't think nor look, they just go. Prerequisite of thought, one must first possess a brain! It amazes me how a Thai gets run over and just gets up like nothing happened, they don't seem to feel pain..... where there is no sense there is no feeling.
  22. What does this thread have to do with Thailand? But since you ask:- Banks don't like Crypto as it competes with their business.
  23. And if you pay up, what are you getting from Thailand in return? Rights.... none. Citizenship.... dream on sucker. Property ownership with land.... don't hold your breath waiting. They want our money then they need to treat us with respect and give us the same rights as the Thai people enjoy. Why should we pay anything to the Thais when the money was not earned in Thailand? What right have they got to tax our foreign pension? (They can shove it where the sun don't shine). Stay away from the Thai tax office and wait n see what happens.
  24. Fine if we only have to pay tax in Thailand and NOT in our country of origin. Never gonna happen
