6,000 cases in the U.K, 600 cases in Thailand. 'Quick hurry back home to safety'
Do you believe the Thai figures?
They just had a mass exodus from Bkk at Morchit bus station. Potential viral spread nationwide by the bus load.

The real terrifying thing about this is if large numbers of foreigners seeking visa support start coming down with Covid-19. They really have the stage set for a domestic outbreak from within the foreign community who are forced to congregate in large numbers instead of staying in their residence and maintaining social distance.
It boggles the mind because this is the exact opposite of what every health organization and government agency in the world is telling it's citizens to do. And yet, here we are. They should close CW immigration and automatically extend everyones visa for 3 months till this is all over.
I am not going near the place and sent my 90 day report by post.

my memory is not so good, but i am pretty sure that legs were not so meaty in my heyday.
Never mind, we saw the best of it and it cost us a whole lot less than it does today. As for the memory, I think I may have Alzheimer’s.... but I can’t remember getting into this condition.

You could take the car to a main dealer and have them check it.
How would you seriously be able to do that with a car sitting on a used car site?
Last time I checked, I found that cars were capable of being driven to other places.

You don't buy the dip, you buy the bottom...and it is still very far!
How does anyone know? If the Saudis and the Russians come to an agreement on oil the market will rise and you have missed the bottom already.
If the Govt comes through with a stimulus for airlines and Boeing, then likewise you have missed your chance.
Roadrunner may be wrong but is already buying on the drip, at these prices, long term I cannot go wrong.

Britain's health service is freeing up 30,000 beds
looking at the UK figs for planned bed requirement makes me wonder what the actual infection figs are for Thailand??? !!!

If you go to immigration there is a risk you will infect others. Get a friend to go explain the situation to Immigration in advance. I am sure they will come up with a solution, probably give someone else power of attorney to do it for you.
A sick note from a doctor may be another way?

But I just read an article that said the Chinese tourists are ready to travel from China again.
I doubt any insurance company is daft enough to cover this virus and right now no one gets into thailand without health insurance and a health certificate. The Thais got something right at last but were a bit late shutting the door.

It is also nowhere near the 1929 scenario, when the Down Jones fell by 82% in under three years, We are very far away from those figures.
Agreed. To which I would add, the fact that China is recovering within 3 months shows us this is likely to be self limiting.
Quit panicking and buy the stock market dip.

Should I be worried that our illustrious leader obviously hasn’t got a clue what to do? Nah, it’s only a deadly virus, mail pen rai eh.
This is the same man who continued to let Chinese tourists in when he should have shut the door.

Definitely, Easy Jet is a screaming buy, also Heathrow Airport holdings, Fraport, Carluccio's restaurant and Cineworld are also screaming buys.
Would definitely buy those companies with a glittering future ahead....
Big airlines are shut down and struggling. Small ones like Easy Jet may go bankrupt?

You could take the car to a main dealer and have them check it.
Having worked in the car trade as buyer / seller for ages, I thought of setting up my own vehicle inspection service. However, research showed that people would not pay for it. They would not spend money to save money.
Take someone with you who really knows about cars. Saves a lot of pain.

There's a whole other element of the UK's diaspora that aren't on package tours and backpacking. Since most state airlines will have aircraft languishing on aprons, I can foresee there's still scope for various governments to bring home their own when they are faced with fellow citizens being stuck in very poor conditions. That and being accused of abandoning their citizens won't look great when election time beckons.
Get real, back in the UK they neither know or care that we exist. As for the local British Embassy.... dont hold your breath waiting for help.

It is likely too late for Thailand. Should have shut the border at the start. But, greedy as ever, they continued to let tourists in from the epicenter and source of the disease;-China. I fear we may now all be about to pay for this mistake.
Based on the above, I do not believe the Thai Govt figures. Just how many cases does Thailand really have?
Decisions decisions.... should we all leave now while we can?

Well they have locked down Buriram..... the rest of the world must follow.
Thank God I have no need nor desire to go to Nakhon Nowhere.
The way its going we had better be prepared to be either locked in or locked out of here. Question is, will you still be able to get back to your home country?

Why do people ask these questions? Do posters really expect other posters to know the answers?
The simple truth is until announcements are made nobody knows
Do you imagine that Thai Immigration knows either? I guarantee they have not got a clue what they are going to do with this.

She is tall, likes to date black American Basketball players. If you are not over 7 foot tall and rich, with a dong a foot long, she don't wanna know.
Think you measure up?

The used car market here is no different to any other country,
beg to disagree.... it is far worse here, easy to buy trouble and way more expensive than most other countries in the west.

I'm in Nakhon Phanom/Sakon Nakhon. It's like 2 hours from Udon Thani. Thanks for the tip about Auctions.
Da Bird here used to do this for a living.
Remember when buying at auctions you cannot test drive first. Major faults in transmission or bent chassis due to accident are hidden. Even experts get burned at auctions. Thais are very good at covering up accident damage, but their repairs are often just cosmetic.... like many things here... image over substance.
It is possible to come away with a bargain. For example, a finance company repossession that is there just because some Somchai failed to make the payments.... a common occurrence in Thailand.
Caveat emptor.... no warranty, no refund.

How will this affect Boeing? 60% of the company is involved in commercial jet manufacturing (40% in defense). Take a look at the acute nose dive in the BA share price.
