I used to use the schedule at www.propsops.com when I was living in BKK and photographing cosplay. The website is a pain to navigate around though ! There is usually a couple of big cosplay events at Central world especially the Japan Expo. That’s the easiest to photograph...and access.

I see it is on again Jan 31st - Feb 2nd at Central World.

That would be your simple minded interpretation, do really think there was not more to it than that.

The owner did not believe there were no towels and reluctant to address the problem. The apartment in general was not in keeping with the description, Airbnb does not give owners licence to tell lies.

Generally I have been more than satisfied with the accommodation I have been in but not the case this time round. Airbnb should do more to ensure the details listed are correct, or do you think that is too much to expect.

Perhaps if you had put more information in your original post......

You should try being a landlord and see a whole new perspective. Or are you too simple minded to think of that?

I just made the Mrs joint signature on my account here not a joint account, she can go in and get all the cash out if I croak, no need to tell them. I do have an ATM card as back up but I never trust those things, can get stuck etc. House and car is in her name anyway so that just leave the bulk of the cash in the UK which my mate will help her sort out.

You do not trust ATM cards but you DO trust a Thai wife.... You may 'expire' before your ATM card expires! And not of natural causes!

The alternative is a Will, but the Thai lawyer is going to siphon off as much as he can.

I wonder if expats will begin to develop side vision, which is a common feature among animals considered prey.

I used to think 1178 was a immigration help line. That was before we became unwelcome. Now I get the feeling we are being watched and anytime there is a problem with a Thai we are at risk of them reporting us to 1178.

Guys like this damage the image for the rest of us who are just trying to live in peace and avoid stirring up immigration.

Did you see the sign in the background of the photo? “Transnational Crime Data Center.” Orwell was right.

There are good deals to be had, I have had several but my most recent booking turned into total loss, so you are not wrong to be a bit sceptical.

I had booked 4 nights in HCMC and when we arrived found that there were no towels in the apartment. I contacted the host which wasn't easy as there was no information on how to use the internet. It started about 5pm and by 7pm we were no further forward so we picked our bags up, hadn't unpacked, and booked into a hotel, about an hour later we got a message saying she was coming to resolve the problem.

When I got home I made a complaint to Airbnb and tried to get a refund but they were not interested, said I hadn't given the host enough time to fix the matter and hadn't notified them within 24 hours.

Airbnb are more concerned about hosts than guests, they need the hosts to make the listings look good, so people should be wary.

Total loss? Just cuz there were no towels? I am not surprise you were refused a refund. I expect the owner still had to pay Airbnb.

I think Britain is getting a jump-start on the whole thing.

I'd be shocked if the EU, in its current form, existed in 10 years.

    It has started already....

I wonder how many other EU member countries have been watching to see how Brexit goes before making their decision to leave?

god damn it! i missed it. next year.

You have to visit Tokyo, Harajuku and Shibuya / Shinjuku. Where you will see far more Cosplay girls than Thailand, plus more elaborate costumes. Nobody does Cosplay like a Japanese girl, soooooo cute! Though Japanese do tend to have bandy legs… (it‘s the bandy that makes you randy)

You can always become the 51st state.

Not such a bad idea actually!

The EU will still have to trade with us in some form as we are interdependent. Plus Britain will be free to enter into trade agreements with other countries.

Britain will survive, they will just make a trade agreement with the Thais. We will trade tourists for pussy.
