  1. Did you ask about membership?
  2. OK, but I have a Thai son, married and 4 kids. So I feel obliged to watch what's happening and if needed a couple of time I've mentioned my worries to my Thai son. Each time I quickly discovered my son concerned about the same item(s).
  3. Also unfortunately in the picture, the policeman who was killed was a no-name / long-time / low ranker. Sad.
  4. My Thai will bequeaths everything to my Thai son. For several decades whenever we opened a new bank savings account: - it was with the same bank and was specifically set up as: - a joint savings - either party can sign.
  5. You think that will force head men to take action? Think again, the big players would make mince meat of any head man who tried to get tough. This is LOS.
  6. Wrong country. Baht doesn't smell of curry.
  7. And will anybody listen / act? Not holding my breath, because the farmers have strong support from the giant food manufacturing companies etc., who can easily override / ignore Anutin.
  8. Sorry I can't answer whether you can obtain an Exit / Re-entry stamps (in both books) at Pattaya immigration. For the last 10 years I got the stamps at Chiang Mai Immigration. Before that it was all done by an agent used by my employer. Pure guess but I can't see any reason why it couldn't be done at Jomtien Immigration. Do they give clear answers on the phone? (I asked the question in that manner because at Chiang Mai Immigration (a big Immigration office), there's a small team, about 2 of 3 staff who only handle PR matters incl. gaining Exit / Re-entry stamps, but asked about this at the main walk-in counter and they will very likely say 'not at this office, have to go to Bkk. I had this situation one time, but luckily one of the dedicated PR team noticed me and quickly came out of the office area and greeted me and immediately took me to her area. The boy at the walk in desk objected saying NO NO, Bangkok only. The PR team leader pulled him aside, sat him down and gave him a polite education about the subject).
  9. So there is a team meeting every day / every hour to decide the next strategy etc? You really think that can work, product still has to be scanned at the cash register. You need a very simple hobby, back in your home country
  10. How does that work? The shelf has a ticket clearly showing the price, and then the product is scanned by the barcode reader...
  11. Mine is signed and witnessed with date and time at the top and bottom of every page. Ys it can be in a sealed envelope and registered and stored at the local tessaban office and you should have a receipt. But storing at the tessaban is not compulsory. The tessaban office and some local amphur offices will claim they can assist you to write the will but beware of this, these folks are not lawyers and are not trained. QUOTE FROM ABOVE: "I am a single farung and my will leaves everything to another single farung, which at first, the clerk said could not be done. Then she asked some other clerks and they said ok." NOTE WELL: The staff at such offices who 'handle wills are not layers and have no legal or other training in regard to wills.
  12. Do some research on this. First read my post immediately above.
  13. ".... business/ profits." Interesting, his family own SC Asset, a very big housing development company.
  14. Google says: "TM 13 is the application form for a Thai Certificate of Residence, and TM 22 is the application form for a Non-Quota Immigrant Visa" Did you get a letter indicating that your PR (Lifetime Residence) has been approved? Did you Get a letter indicating that your Thai PR had been approved? Did you take that letter to an appropriate gov't office (often a bigger amphur office but other offices can also issue the book) to get issued with your dark blue Certificate of Residence book? Also they should record your name and your Thai ID number in the Tabien Baan book for the place where you reside. Twenty seven years ago I did all of the above at the Pattaya city Hall. A long time ago so I don't know if they still do it. The dark blue Certificate of Residence book is your official proof that you hold lifetime PR for Thailand. This book is your official document to prove you are a lifetime Permanent Resident of Thailand. It's your document for life. The Certificate of Residence does NOT show an expiry date because it's for lifetime. It does not need annual REVIEW OR CHECK. Before you depart Thailand for a holiday or for meeting etc., you must go to an immigration office* and get an Exit and Re-entry stamp in your PR book and your passport. * You might read that foreigners can get the Exit / Re-entry stamps at the airport after you check in. That's true for some other types of visas but NOT TRUE for PR holders. PR holders must get these stamps before travel at an immigration office. Getting the Exit / Re-entry stamps in both books does not involve any recheck or review of your PR status, it's a no pain administrative process. On departure from Thailand you must present both books (Certificate of Residence book and your passport) at the immigration desk and they will add another stamp (usually close to the the Exit / Re-entry stamps placed in both books at an immigration office.) to indicate that the Exit / Re-entry stamp issued at the immigration office has now been used for the departure leg of your immediate travels. CRITICAL: If you don't follow these steps correctly there is a risk that you could lose your PR status. If you do lose your PR status there is no 'quick fix' and you will need to start again to apply for PR. CRITICAL: You must get the Exit / Re-entry stamp in both books (Cert. of Residency book and passport) before going to the airport. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Another AN member can answer your question better than I can about visa. I got PR 27 years ago so I'm not up to date about PR and visas. Good luck.
  15. I got PR 27 years ago ago I'm out of date about form numbers. What is TM 13 and TM 22? Then maybe you'll get some responses.
  16. Which is why at many 7/11 branches only one staff member is allowed to be the cashier / allowed to touch the cash register drawer. Also why they count the change many time before they hand it to the customer. Staff have to pay the company if they make a mistake Happens in Thai banks too.
  17. But I always wonder how accurate Thai newspapers are.
  18. Any member ever heard of stand by work payment? I've never heard of it. To the poster, the Thai labor law is quite specific. Employers cannot make new 'regulations' as they see fit. Seen this before. Small newspaper owner in Pattaya (published in English) employed several foreigners as reporters / journalists (no experience needed), telling them that they didn't need a work permit because his business held an approval from the Labor department for 10 foreigners. (A couple of the the reporters / journalists) said they asked to see the 'approval letter' held by the newspaper owner but he refused saying it was a secret documents not available to employees). The business owner claimed he could add / remove foreigners names from the list of 10 as he saw fit. All fell apart, owner went to jail, guilty of several charges, then deported and black listed. All of the so called reporters / journalists the same, instantly taken to the immigration detention centre (IDC), fined on several charges and deported and black listed. From the IDC the so called reporters / journalists employed a lawyer who quickly discovered the newspaper owner had a very scaly past history, including jail, in India, in Cambodia and in Thailand.
  19. Really, if you try really hard perhaps you could add some further negative bull<deleted>. What a load of crap you write.
  20. Buy a ticket to he USA and do your shopping at 7/11 etc., near the white house. You could report all the negative events you experience so that donnie and elon can keep abreast of what's now great (or not great).
  21. Same. Was here before 7/11 and since they started. Used many of their stores nation wide. Never been overcharged, never been scammed, never had wrong change.
  22. Who / what are Washington swamp creatures?
  23. QUOTE: "The outcome could set precedents for managing land donations and religious assets across the nation, reported Bangkok Post." This is not a new matter, it's been mentioned in news services /' been reported on / discussed by highly respected senior legal eagles many time before. Previously it's been reported that the existing Thai law (existing for many decades) that temple land (no matter how the temple acquired the land) cannot be sold under any circumstances. Setting precedents is not an appropriate approach, the matter is specifically already covered by Thai law, as above: "existing Thai law (existing for many decades) that temple land (no matter how the temple acquired the land) cannot be sold under any circumstances". Also note that Sanoh Tienthong a very scaly / very corrupt previous politician and long-term buddy of thaksin was very involved in selling the land and in the development of the housing estate. This is a man who would see his mother if offered a half good price, And he had no respect for the law about anything.
