  1. Please share the process to get acceptable photos. Any member resident in Chiang Mai aware of local photo shop / outlet where folks can get acceptable photos? Thanks.
  2. Sure the Hamas attacks were not OK. Sure the jews were treated badly in WW2 / the holocaust. But don't forget the long past history over decades of the Palestinians being given very poor treatment / disgraceful treatment by the Israelis.
  3. Based on fact. My multinational employer wanted to have a regional seminar for all staff in the Asia / Middle East region. First venue chosen was Malaysia but company admin. then discovered that Israeli staff (at that time about 12 people) could not enter Malaysia. Indonesia then considered, again discovered Israelis couldn't attend - cannot enter Indonesia. The seminar was held in Bangkok. No further comment.
  4. As is standard for Malaysia, persons presenting an Israeli passport not allowed to enter Malaysia. same for Indonesia. All based on religion.
  5. Call musk, he can fix all, forget laws etc.
  6. What amuses me is that no matter what title / acronym people use the fact is that gay people exist and in much bigger numbers than most realize, world wide. Trump and his gang seem to be hoping they can rid the USA of homosexual people in the military, in government and in daily life. They just show their ignorance. Also in the 'mix' is that folks like trump, and all in his party, just don't know who might be gay in their family, their company, amongst their friends, this generation, previous generations or next generation, whether out or not out, and probably in their ignorance have never thought about it. Changing the acronym back to a previous version is also showing their ignorance.
  7. Perhaps the high chlorate version better for cleaning stains from sheets etc?
  8. Partly because many Thai officers just don't know how the typical flow of western names. And some western passport officers also Aussie buddy took his Thai wife to Australia using her Thai passport. On arrival Aussie passport officer said 'but maybe this passport (Thai p'port) is wrong because it only has two names. Aussie guy had to explain 'but Thai people only have 2 words in their complete name (name / surname). Aussie p'port guy said 'are you sure about that? He continued but what's her christian name? Aussie husband had to explain 'she's not christian', she's Buddhist and her first name is xxxxxxxx. Then p'port guy understood and said: - 'Welcome home mr hhhhhh' - 'Welcome to 'Australia Ms llllllll, please enjoy your stay', and gave her a card with Several languages on the cad including Thai, saying If you have any ongoing questions about your visa don't hesitate to call xx xxxx xxxx, there's Thai language speakers available if needed.
  9. That depends on the laws / regulations of the receiving country, not on Thai regulations / attitudes.
  10. Boring, again, blocked
  11. And is the appropriate insurance in place / up to date.
  12. Turns out several other countries have already successfully installed similar systems. Bottom line, seems all countries want to know where tourists / visitors are staying whilst in the country.
  13. I guess your real aim is to take some upskirt photos. Bad boy.
  14. Mixed picture. The farang around the table who haven't purchased an EV all fit well into the picture 'not yet because there's nowhere to recharge the batteries. One added, 'I haven't purchased an EV because I don't want to go to a service station every time I need to charge and sit on the kerb for 2 hrs.' Others tried to convince this guy there's many locations for recharge with added facilities / shopping, and you can recharge at home. His response was 'but my house is not wired as a commercial premises so that's not possible'.
  15. Original message says submit the completed arrival/departure card on line before arrival. I've never heard of submitting a form before arrival, so how many folks will arrive and be confronted with this at the passport desk?
  16. But choose the wind powered whirlybird extractor carefully, they can be extremely noisy.
  17. And he may want to get some further education / facts about the requirements to gain Thai PR. Quote from earlier post: "as far as Im aware, retirees are ineligible to apply for PR because they don't meet the income requirements so must always stay in the lowly Non Immigrant status for the remainder of their stay." There is some limited focus on size of income but the main item needed is proof of working in Thailand, with a Thai work permit, for the 3 continuous years* prior to lodging the application for PR (* but the number of years of continuous has changed in the past and could change again. I've had Thai PR for 28 years, when I applied foreigners needed to prove 7 years of continuous WPs. And the applicant must also prove that he/she has submitted their Thai personal tax returns for those years and the assessed personal taxes due have all been paid. And there's more. "I am very close to having my PR in the bag. Just a few more hoops to jump through and I'm done." W What does that mean?
  18. No expert but my understanding is that banks prefer to do international transfers using a SWIFT code. From my understanding the SWIFT code is seen as very safe and quick. Other members maybe know more about this.
