New Govt Tourist Insurance to Cover Deaths and Accidents
scorecard replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Perhaps even more true many farang simply don't think about medical insurance. And/or mistakenly believe travel insurance (lost luggage etc.,) is the same as medical insurance. -

Perhaps: - Riding motorcycle without valid license? - Riding motorcycle not wearing moganok? - Riding motorcycle or driving a car and fail breathalyser or blood alcohol test? -

Thanks. -
Just one example, I was recently shopping at Rimping in Chiang Mai. An older farang asked me if I buy Aussie beef. I replied 'YES and also Thai beef'. He responded 'this has to stop' and after some diatribe 'trump will fix these issues when he gets re-elected'. I asked 'why would anybody vote for trump?' His response 'He's a good honest man, respectful to everybody'. The shopper continued, 'trump totally fulfilled all his promises to all Americans and more in his first term.' ... and 'trump has such international respect he can and will stop the war in Ukraine and the war between Israel and Hamas with one meeting about 1 hour each.

Why release of Thaksin could be a tipping point for Thai politics
scorecard replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Well if the law can be 'adjusted' to allow a Thai drug runner who did 8 years in an Aussie jail to become a Thai minister then probably not difficult to adjust the law so that the paymaster can again be the PM. And there's plenty of his scaly unethical cronies who will attempt it. -
I'll never forget flying in biz class with my 18 year old son. After dinner finished, everything packed away my son politely asked for a glass of Coke. Biz waitress (cabin crew) continued walking and yelled back at my son "go and ask in economy class".

Nice points, however the way I see it is fairly quickly a lot of political / party chaos and re-organizing and quickly the paymaster back in the PM chair. -

I'll google, thanks very much. -
Sure, and yes they should meet their obligations as much as is possible. However withdrawing the group support and telling putin to go ahead and attack / bomb them is off the point. NATO countries will continue to support and protect each other well into the future. One day trumps nasty outbursts will come back to hit and hit him right between his eyes. Hopefully soon, and I want to watch!

Another option could be to open the account as a joint savings account, you and a local Thai friend: - Either party can sing withdrawals, no limits. or - Maximum withdrawal one time is 100Baht - Second signatory holds say 6 withdrawals slip all pre-signed by the first signatory (person who started the account.) Perhaps different amount: 100Baht, 150Baht, 200Baht, 120Baht, 180Baht, 90Baht. Plus also written on the withdrawal form on the amount line (this withdrawal amount cannot be changed by anybody). - Check you online banking every 60 days to see if any withdrawals have been made. If not speak to the second signatory person and request that person urgently make a withdrawal using of the the pre-signed withdrawal slips.

Five immigration officers jailed for 15 years each for extortion

There's also quite a few who do everything strictly according to the law. Get PR (if you qualify) then 99% - 100% of issues needing some 'tweeking' no longer exist. -

You didn't mention trump continuously asking his naive MAGA followers for very big donations... -
Good points. Worries me that the Dems can't see the obvious, he's done some quite good things but he's too old to continue for another 4 / 5 years. Having said that the same must be said regarding rump, he's already too old also a He continuously makes statements which show he's not OK for another 4 / 5 years. I'm hoping that very soon (should have already done it months ago) the Dems appoint a new candidate. There's several good options.

Thanks for your reply. No real explanation, I showed many photos indicating the quality of the boxes and no problems and clearly showing the way the current doors align to the boxes etc. Also clearly showing the current hinges / locations of hinges etc. Just pushing for a bigger job, It's a big kitchen so much bigger cost. -

But do your research about charges imposed on using ATM cards / Debit cards in Oz, cards issued by foreign banks. I discovered that ANZ bank imposed very small charges for withdrawals in Oz using K Bank Debit card. On the other hand all the other Oz banks have bigger / quite steep charges. One Oz bank charges me AU$34- for using my K Bank debit card in their Oz ATM. I can't remember which Oz bank it was so I'll not guess. -
Moo Baan Don Chan area. KItchen has western style cupboards, after 9 years many doors are degrading, especially at the bottom because of poor quality. Boxes and granite top are seem to be OK. Just the doors need to be replaced. Already visited Homikitch and 1 other place. Both claim will have to build the full kitchen again at enormous cost. Doors will need to be custom made to specific non standard sizes and fitted with soft close / full close hinges. Looking for good quality expected to last long-term. Any suggestions very much appreciated, thanks.

The 2 years back in Oz to re-establish a home in Oz starts from the day you arrive in Australia. I landed at Sydney airport late morning. early next morning I went to the local big office of Centrelink to gain a get a Centrelink personal Reference number and to prove my ID. I asked many questions to ensure I had the correct information, I lodged my OAP application forms about 3 days later at the same Centrelink office. I learned clearly that: - The 2 years starts from the date you physically arrive in Australia. At the airport they ask no questions whatever about why you have been outside of Oz for many years and they ask no questions whatever in regard to the OAP or APPLYING FOR THE OAP or any matters relating to Centrelink. - The 2 years DOESN'T start from the date you apply for the OAP. - The 2 years DOESN'T start from the date your OAP is approved. Further info on this: My oap was approved and I received fortnightly payments into my OZ bank for around 2 years. About 10 days after the 2 years back in Oz I called the older Australians line 132300 and asked I I was entitled to Portability. The officer check and said YES, you gained this entitlement about 10 days ago. I responded 'but I haven't received the OAP yet for 2 years. The officer responded clearly 'Portability is not based on how long you have been receiving the OAP,the 2 years starts from the day you arrive back in Oz.
