  1. Strange comments. "A disproportionate number of these people are Veterans, good, well paying jobs about to be stripped out." - Veterans - how is that relevant to the comment and what proof of this point is there? I suggest many veterans would praise auto transmissions, easy and not complex to use. Changing from manual transmission to auto transmission is not difficult in any way. - How is driving a manual transmission vehicle a 'well paying job"? - Reducing manual transmission vehicles "well paying jobs about to be stripped out." How's that? All of the above is just improvements in technology, got to be expected.
  2. Poor attitude is also a factor. I went to the TG Bus lounge at Swampy, gold card lounge. A passenger lady politely asked an attendant (in TG uniform) if these was any Halal food in the food trays. She quickly got abuse from 2 attendants. The attendant she asked said loudly 'eat it, it won't kill you'. A Thai nationality passenger intervened and told the attendant to speak politely and to give the enquiring passenger a specific answer. The attendant slammed the plate she was carrying on the table and disappeared. Lots of people watching / listening and lots of negative comment about TG and the food offered in the Bus lounge.
  3. Hanoi airport is very good / impressive, also Ho Chi Minh Airport very good / impressive. But I agree Changi airport in Singapore is better.
  4. Or is this a planned beat up to falsely push big joke out of the top job contention?
  5. Add trump to the end of your first paragraph.
  6. ... and increase the price.
  7. Amuses me 'but I was drunk so it's OK'.
  8. Yes it works, thanks very big.
  9. I forgot, there's also a currency exchange fee.
  10. Sure, The Thai Immigration Bureau is a part of the RTP. Still seems to me that the officers of the Thai Immigration bureau are the officers who have the specific knowledge needed and authority, not your average plod.
  11. I am also a PR holder... I certainly agree this case must follow the proper / published protocols. The local RTP making decisions on the run on visa issues is certainly not appropriate.
  12. I clicked on the address https://thetvapp.to response: This site cannot be reached. Any suggestions appreciated.
  13. AIS Play has suddenly dropped 2 channels from it free channel list: - HITS Movies (in English) - HITS Reload of very old TV series (in English) Most series 40 to 50 years old, examples 'The Waltons', 'I dream of Jeannie', Charlies Angels' 'M*A*S*H' and many more ... AIS PLay has moved many of it's channels from 'free' to monthly subscription', most at 99Baht a month. E.g. CNN. But HITS Movies and HITS just totally disappeared. Sure the programs are very old, simple content but good for a laugh and to kill some time and to see typical situations of the past. Any members got any info on this? are these programs returning? re they being converted to monthly subscription? I called AIS but no clear answer.
  14. A little twist. A mainstream very old bank in Australia charges a 'fee' for withdrawals using debit cards at their ATMs in Oz, cards issued in other countries, mine issued in LOS and linked to VISA. Also, same bank charges another fee because the issuing bank is abroad of AUD34- per transaction.
  15. And they do exist. Two+ decades back there was a regular 'event' in the big supermarket in the basement under Robinsons Sukhumvit Bkk. I saw this event several times. A big overweight loud EU man, I guess 50 + years old would be walking, meat, fresh vegetables etc., and all other areas of the s'market, smoking a big smelly cigar. Staff / managers / foreign and Thai customers asking him to put out the cigar or leave the store, often with quite some abuse, mostly from the western customers. He always ignored their comments / requests. Eventually he got to the cashier with his shopping, paid and then left. All the time with more abuse from locals and foreigners which he totally ignored. Often he would then enter McDonalds, stiff smoking his cigar, order food wait for his food, still pumping cigar smoke over everybody. His food would come then he would sit in MCDonalds and eat, still smoking his cigar. Always lots of abuse and McDonalds mgr / supvr and customers asking him to leave. Most of the customer abuse was from westerners. He ignored it all, finished his meal then left the store still pumping out lots of cigar smoke.
  16. I guess there's regulations / laws covering 'what is the the birth country of the baby?'
  17. Don't know bout today but 20 years ago many business / private citizens had such sirens with flashing light installed on the roofs of their pick up trucks / cars / luxury cars. Then an accident and it became a complex argument which revealed that there were no laws on this subject. In other words no laws to stop anybody from installing such sirens /lights. Then laws were passed indicating that only police cars / fire engines / ambulances etc., were allowed to have these items and with a license.
  18. I met Khun Anand many years ago at a seminar. He speaks perfect English, good listener and great conversationalist When Khun Anand was making his presentation the sound system blew up. The company providing the sound system had no replacement on site but they did have 2 young technicians standing just to the side. Khun Anand quickly asked them to help and they quickly did an inspection, K. Anand politely asking in Thai 'do you need any tools etc? The 2 boys quickly advised him they could not repair the sound system but they knew there was an exact replacement at their office about 10 km away. He gave them his phone, the 2 boys called their office then Khun Anand took the phone and explained who he was and that the replacement was urgent. He then instructed his driver to take the 2 boys quickly to their office and to buy anything they needed and quietly put 5,000Baht in his driver's hand. He continued his presentation using a small loud speaker unit, OK but way less than what was needed. Then one of his colleagues whispered 'the 2 technician boys are on their way back and they have the replacement system. He then waited at the door with 2 of his staff and made a big fuss when the 2 boys walked in. He proclaimed loudly in Thai and in English 'please welcome back my 2 new best friends'. The 2 boys quickly started to reinstall everything and at the same time enjoying some good snacks, coffee, pepsi etc., ordered by Khun Anand. Khun Anand then interviewed the 2 boys 'do you speak English he politely asked'. 'No sir'. He continued 'never mind we speak Thai'. And he made them feel comfortable. We learned later that after the seminar he sat privately and talked for some time with the 2 boy and he he had privately offered the 2 boys good jobs with good benefits. And they accepted and both went on to university to study in the electronics field, all paid for personally by K. Anand. A very nice man.
  19. But NOT just the thrill of shooting / killing animals then walking away. I saw active service in the VN conflict and saw many human being killed, maimed, lose their limbs, dreadfully disfigured etc. I returned to OZ and never again touched and type of firearm and I never will.
  20. It's their country, they are entitled to have some details of who the gov't is allowing to stay in their country.
  21. Why would anybody buy a ticket from an airline which totally refuses to communicate with it's customers?
  22. And don't forget the red bull absconded boy.
  23. There's more details. If the pensioner has qualified for 'portability' then that pensioner can receive their OAP payments transferred permanently by international funds transfer from C'link directly into an offshore bank account of their choice every 4 weeks for life. Mine goes directly into a K Bank savings account, every 4 weeks.
