  1. Indeed there is . A short British black and white "comedy" entitled "dinner for one" was a total failure in the UK but is considered essential viewing in Germany every christmas
  2. And its not unique to Thailand, The Uk had several profits of doom One (Neill Fergusson) was caught breaking lock down rules in order to visit his mistress in the early days of covid . another ( may even have been the same guy) had a history of disproved doom and gloom predictions stretching back over 20 years involving everything from Foot and Mouth to SARS. The rest of them were no better. Strangely they all received knighthoods in gratitude for the parts they played in helping to terrify the nation
  3. Isn't it a bit strange that such Woke people would even consider working for an Organisation like the Royal Thai Airforce whose primary function , when called upon, is to kill people . Especially considering the role of this team seems to be to assist them in maintaining their killing machines, If the Thais declared war on a "big nosed" nation would you consider sabotaging their weapons systems? Thought not
  4. A very miserable team by the sound of it where fraternising with the opposite sex is frowned upon, and anti german sentiment is rife,
  5. If the "victim" had been Scandinavian and the comment had been in regard to blonde hair or yodelling nobody, you included, would have raised an eyebrow, likewise if the "victim " had been English and the comment had been about poor foreign language skills, warm beer, footbal hooliganism, cr@p food or drunken behaviour whilst on holiday again nothing would be said, you included. One of the fundamental principles of "Woke-ism is that certain nationalities and minorities are considered fair game, and can or perhaps should, have as much vitriol and hate directed at them as possible and with impunity , whilst others are protected, and eggshells need to be walked on when considering making any comments either negative or indeed positive regarding them. The comments on this thread about Germans,..... Nazi's , no sense of humour, towels on sunbeds, socks and sandals etc etc are proof of this. Negative comments regarding white people, cannabis users and people who pay for sex, for example, are also tolerated, even encouraged with nobody taking offence on behalf of these as yet unfashionable "victims" It is actually rather amusing watching the wokies on the BBC almost squirming with discomfort when they have to report about the Asian grooming gangs in the UK , a subject that was covered up for years by "Woke" social workers for fear of offending racial sensitivities, at the expense of the welfare of vulnerable white underage girls Reports of female genital mutilation are always discussed "awkwardly" and kept to a minimum for the same reason The fact that it is carried out by women being another unfortunate truth. Yet a white hetro prime minister gets accused of attending a party and the Woke media frenzy is deafening , Headline news every day, for months on end Your comments regarding his "inappropriate" behaviour towards females is also somewhat curious, there is no reason for you to get "triggered" unless you received complaints from any of these women, which you obviously didn't ,as you would have mentioned the fact.. Flirting between the sexes is a normal part of human behaviour, even at work , and generally enjoyed by both parties involved, most men know where to draw the line , and most women have no problem in dealing with the ones that don't, its almost sexist to say otherwise. Abuse of power in these situations involving persistent unwelcome sexual attention from a superior is obviously another matter. But a bit if flirting , get over your self, and its none of your business whether he's married or not You need to also bear in mind that more relationships are formed between people who met at work than in any other situation, do you personally wish to put an end to this? why? Likewise If the guy with the big nose had complained to you himself, officially, then maybe some action was warranted , perhaps a quiet word would have sufficed in the first instance, however "big nose" did not complain did he? in fact it appears he didn't want any action to be taken Yet fuelled by the righteous indignation of a few on here. you saw fit to steam in with an official reprimand, was this an example of an appropriate response,? I don't think so, Was it another attempt at raising your woke profile ? definitely your final question "what do you guy's think ? I actually think the whole story is made up, for the sole purpose of giving you an opportunity to virtue signal to the woke warriors and to hopefully get a you a pat on the back. The underlying message is also that you don't think having a big nose is a positive attribute and illogically refuse to accept that it is a common feature for some races, With out doubt you are taking offence on behalf of others , possibly as a way of excising your own feelings of guilt..Not unlike the people who bang on the back of police vans taking pedophiles to court.
  6. He didn't you are quite right , but i'd made the connection the minute I heard the words "viral craze" and three fingers I didn't need Asean now to spell it out. Of course I may be wrong, but I think the guy was instructed not to mention any words like "dissent " or "protest" This has been seen as something with the potential to develop and they want to nip it in the bud , Doing so under the guise of health and safety is, in my opinion, a sad attempt to hide what is effectively removing peoples right of protest.. Are you not a little surprised the general has issued such a statement expressing "his safety concerns" for a few minor miscreants and highlighting the dangers of "losing control whilst sounding ones horn " yet wasn't that moved to take the opportunity to spell out a few other more common dangers on the roads, and his promise to come down as firmly on drunk drivers and on other such people and practices who endanger the lives of other people every day was notable by its absence too Can't blame em really I think they'd really rather not have to get the tanks out
  7. I don't think its quite like that, The police are not particularly enamoured with Prayuth and his military administration. The "senior officer" making this announcement is only carrying out instructions issued from a higher authority. Lets be honest the only people they will catch are the ones stupid enough to do it in the vicinity of a police station or check point. He's just paying lip service to his superiors and ensuring that a perceived dissent is at least seen to be outlawed
  8. 15% - 75% who gets how much? how is this to be apportioned out
  9. one shouldn't put 100% faith in any doctor, that's why we have second opinions, lol I see that's what they have tried to do in the OP
  10. "Sex Tourist" do normal people actually use that term, or is it reserved for sexually repressed bigots ? is there actually an official definition ? For example how many times would one have to have sex whilst on holiday to be considered a sex tourist,? Would enjoying a holiday romance result in one being labelled as such ?
  11. Many of these "doctors" ceased to practice medicine years ago (probably when it dawned on them they were useless) they seem to make a living by being "affiliated " to various organisations and uttering public statements like this, as and when required,
  12. Indeed reasonably priced weed is easily available, There's no need to spend a fortune, however this thread is primarily about tourists who normally pay a little more for most things especially here
  13. They don't, but serious matters like this have to be seen to be treated with the gravity they deserve , and one well tested way, of adding a bit of gravitas to an argument is for a statement to be issued by a high ranking (albeit clueless )official Ideally a General or somebody who is perceived as extremely wealthy. Looks like whoever commissioned this article could not (unsurprisingly) find any of those that were prepared to get involved. Doctors are quite fashionable these days, as the excitement of covid provided them the opportunity for a bit self aggrandizement. Their freshly renewed sense of self importance and a bit of social media "fame" makes them a natural second choice for all occasions
  14. You mean to tell me that your "highly educated" Thai friends actually do not understand how important tourism is to the Thai economy as a whole. Sounds to me they are a little out of touch or maybe not that well educated after all. Thai's can also be a bit two faced when they want to be, and if they don't like tourists they probably don't like you much either
  15. I have no idea how they split it, but I don't think it should cost any more in Phuket than in Pattaya
  16. I fully expect long covid to become the most commonly mentioned medical condition, used for the purpose of fraudulent benefit claims. Totally eclipsing "stress" and "back trouble" which I believe are the current favorites. I also expect the majority of these claims to come from public sector employees I might even have a go myself I know a few in the uk with either one or both of the above "medical conditions" and they easily fulfil the financial requirements for a retirement extension
  17. The last sentence being particularly relevant to the Uk where, as for one example, passport waiting time has been reported to be around 11, months Staff from this and many other government agencies have , backed, by their unions, basically just refused to return to their workplace, Health and safety (due to covid 19) being the original reason, but now that excuse has ceased to be valid, they are arguing that there is "no real need" for most of them to return, as the work is online based therefore they can work more tirelessly and efficiently From the comfort of their own homes. The aforementioned waiting list being a perfect example of just how efficient they actually are. I don't think its anything like that here, and I doubt that it would be tolerated, thankfully The symptoms that the overwhelming majority of people experience would not even be considered a valid excuse to take time off for all but the most "delicate" of people. I'd be very surprised if there aren't a lot of people still taking advantage of covid 19. especially in the public sector, all over the world.
