  1. About 8 years ago at what they call a fashion show they were asking 300 USD.
  2. Cheese steaks or that weird stuff at Nifty Fifties...scrapple? That was a nice cafe. Love hoagies.
  3. You are spot on. When the King passed away, the village boss said over the speaker system that whilst people should wear dark coloured clothing, people shouldn't take offence if some people could not. I guess some posters don't realise that in rural Thailand some people can't afford the expense of even a T shirt. Food takes priority.
  4. I don't stay in a hotel but in my wife's house. It was no hassle getting an E visa from Canberra.
  5. Agree. Everything China does has a strategic intent.
  6. Every technological advance humans have ever made ends up in weapons of war. AI will be no different. Be able to kill more efficiently.
  7. Not where I am in Isaan. They wanted " letter from embassy" which turned out to be a certificate of residence, which can't be obtained on a visa waiver entry. Needed a " proper" visa to be able to get one. Other places may of course be different.
  8. There's the the catch 22. I couldn't get a COR on a visa waiver entry so couldn't open a bank account. First time around I got a multi non o marriage from savanahket to overcome the issue. Then a COR then a bank account.
  9. I should add that I only got a visa to be able to get a certificate of residence to renew my Thai driving licences. Since the visa was for less than a year I only got another 2 year temporary licence. Bugger!
  10. Agree. I got a non o evisa based on marriage from Canberra. Had to show 400,000 baht equivalent in an Aussie bank. Evisa for 60 days but stamped in at Swampy for 90 days. Go figure.
  11. For maybe 10 years if your lucky. Then rinse and repeat.
  12. Why were they putting other people's words in their mouth's? If that is the best they can do with AI we're doomed.
  13. Yeah my mate is a cattle farmer. A real one. Thousands of acres. No time to feed the cattle hormones or anything else. He breeds them and sells them. Biggest job he has , if he has time ,is pregnancy checking. And also catching young bulls. The ones we eat.
  14. Whatever happened to Sparktrader. Almost as bad as Harrisfan.
  15. Why should you worry. You allegedly live in Kobe?
  16. Why is that ? Did you have a bad experience as a child? You wouldn't have been the first by all reports. I can sympathize as I experienced the same.
  17. And Robert the true Bob Smith.,.. apparently.
  18. Much the same happens with any visa overstay in a lot of countries. Simple arrest. Then booted out. Why involve lawyers in this matter? I note the guy was a student in the USA for a decade. Who was the slow learner...him.....or the government?
  19. Men can and do die of breast cancer. Nothing funny about that.
  20. I have been to Cambodia twice without a visa. First time I paid 1000 baht and got waved through. Second time I was driving with some Thai friends when I noticed that we were driving on the right hand side of the road. Had passed into Cambodia without me even realising it.
  21. Titanium bar (upstairs bar) was the coolest, literally. Made of ice. I think it has closed down though. The house band were all women. Checkin 99 in the original location was pretty good. Excellent Philippine band and singers. Alas, also gone.
