  1. I think it is. If offering rent to buy doesn't attract a buyer, I suppose the next thing will be vendor finance, and if that fails, they may as well walk away.
  2. Show me where I said higher prices. I said, "if the vendor sees a farang involved, they will be less inclined to negotiate." Do you disagree with this?
  3. Sad story. The guy goes to work, to earn a day's pays for honest work, probably to provide for his wife and kid/s, and doesn't come home, through no fault of his own. He's a victim of a senseless crime, and I doubt any compensation will be forthcoming to his family who will be financially disadvantaged from his death. For a country with a tough stance on drugs and gambling, to have so many die on the roads here is crazy. RIP.
  4. It is. People's favourites will still be closing. I posted yet another example. Who knows, maybe the Bodega Bar and Irish Rovers will be the only bars left standing, but I guess that's all some people need. ????
  5. Here's a "Rent to Buy" gogo. Must be desperate to get out. https://www.bahtsold.com/view/pattaya-city-brand-new-gogo-bar-rent-to-buy-423289
  6. Perhaps because it says. " Asking Price: Nil." ????
  7. Average monthly salary in Thailand is about 15,000k baht, which is nothing in developed western countries. Vendors know that. If they see a farang involved, they will hold out for more money. Same in the local markets here as well.
  8. Certainly, if the vendor sees a farang involved, they will be less inclined to negotiate.
  9. Yes, just offer a first prize of 1 million baht and watch them kill themselves for it. Thailand's version of Squid Games. ????
  10. The question really is, how much can YOU negotiate off the list price with your girlfriend. ????
  11. After nearly 2 years, and all the information out there, are you having a laugh? You can catch covid, and spread covid, without even knowing you have covid.
  12. They are just trying to make a living and have families to feed also. ????
  13. I haven't been back to Samui for some years, but by the sounds of your description of the new roads, Thailand should hold an Isle of Man TT style race on Samui. A few more road deaths won't change the stats too much. ????
  14. OP, you've been warned. If you wish to roll the dice with Thai insurance companies and laws, especially being a foreigner, good luck with it. Have you heard of Go Fund Me insurance in Thailand? ????
  15. "• Asking Price: NIL - Rental Only with Key Money" https://www.bahtsold.com/view/1202159-21-rooms-guesthouse-with-restaurant-near-soi-bua-khao-pattaya-313512 Drop the key money as well and you might have a chance of getting it tenanted.
  16. Sex tourists, and cheap package holiday makers from developing countries are the only ones that will put up with such poor infrastructure.
  17. The Pattaya Mayor can talk all he likes about the future of Walking Street, but with the Soi LK Metro / Soi Baukhao area now in direct competition with Walking Street, and at a better price point, Walking Street Thai landlords need to correct their rents, or it will wither away.
  18. "Living" and "registered" are two very different things in Thailand. You know that. I merely pointed out that Thailand has a huge domestic migrant workforce, so difficult to know how many vaccines should go where. Just look at the statistics for voting in elections here.
  19. Next week's news headline: "Foreigner shot dead over property dispute." Remember where you are, a 3rd World Country.
