  1. Where would the Chinese tour buses park? ????
  2. The huge pipes they are installing under some roads and sois should be able to handle heavy and prolonged rain, if they remain clear, but it appears they need more of them, in more locations, and directed out to sea. As mentioned, certain sois like Soi Pothole and Soi Honey need them, but if going on construction behind The Avenue is any gauge, it would devastate business on these sois for months. Also, I believe Soi Pothole is privately owned, which means the local government may have to force permission to dig up the road and install one of these huge pipes underneath.
  3. That's my point. They are still working in the sex trade, just not in bars. Whether or not they were forced, or sold into prostitution, is another question.
  4. Not "could" but should. Soi Baukhao between Soi Diana and Tree Town should become another Walking Street at night. Of course, nothing will happen until a tourists gets killed, and even then, it will take the global media to publish it. Once again, Thailand is reactionary, not proactive. It will take someone, or more than one, to be killed, before any action is taken to protect pedestrians on that part of Soi Baukhao at night. .
  5. Soi Baukhao. https://www.bahtsold.com/view/long-established-business-in-pattaya-474814 Another on Soi Baukhao. https://www.bahtsold.com/view/nice-bar-for-take-over-474808 And another on Soi Baukhao. https://www.bahtsold.com/view/2-5-unit-1-floor-agogo-in-soi-buakhao-474652 Soi LK Metro. https://www.bahtsold.com/view/bar-for-take-over-lk-metro-474818 The above is just a snap shot. Now, there's no possible way any of the above establishments could be one of anyone's favorite place, and, of course, they will all continue to be here, forever, despite being for sale, and being in the the center on the adult nightlife in Pattaya. They must be selling ion the "booming" "rammed" thriving" "packed" time, in order to get a good price. ????
  6. There are a lot of "poverty stricken" bar girls making more money than the owner of their bars. The bar girls have a sick buffalo, the bar owners do not. ????
  7. It's one thing to throw a party, it's another thing to be able to cater for it, and I'm not talking about just the food.
  8. The people doing the surveillance are the ones that should be under surveillance, and denied gun ownership.
  9. I'm pretty sure the age of consent is under 20 in Thailand, yet, apparently, someone over the age of consent can not work in a bar. Probably just makes the girls between 18 to 20, freelance off the apps, until they can work in a bar.
  10. They've been talking about prostitution being illegal here for decades. Does what happens here in bars surprise you also? ????

    Seahorse Ferry

Yeah, right, and who would they be? Those that weight up time and price on their 2 week holiday???? Sit in a chair over night on a boat, or fly and be sitting in a chair on the beach 2 hours later, for cheaper. Once again, what market is being targeted, and is that market big enough to make this route sustainable?
  12. Unless you are running a hundred of them, and drunk tourists who feel sorry for them give them 100 baht, or more, as a donation, then it's quite lucrative, as it obviously is, otherwise it would have ended years ago.
  13. That water level isn't exactly what I would cal "trapped." Perhaps that's what you told the missus. ????
  14. Beach Road has a nice view, especially at sunset. The lack of law enforcement around prostitution in Pattaya / Thailand is nothing new. It's been that way for decades. If police were even slightly serious about looking after tourism, whilst still catering for sex tourists within Thailand's tourism industry, they could easily send the message to the Coconut Bar girls they now have to go and sit on the steps at Tree Town, yet, they don't. Not sure how much tea money the Coconut Bar pays, so I guess the police just don't care. Meanwhile, as you say, Beach Road continues to attract to cheapest of sex tourists, in full view of tourists that go to Beach Road to admire the water views.
  15. Pattaya is a World Class Tourists Destination, with great infrastructure and good governance, which makes it a great place to invest. ????
  16. No shortage of "in house services" in all the casinos I have been in, all around the world.
  17. Your observations are similar to mine. In my opinion, the numbers are not back to low season 2019 numbers.
  18. The casino may be resort style. I would be surprised if it's not. That means, everything in house, from salons to massage, from pools to sports bars etc etc. As I have said before, you have 5 Star resorts here, but step outside your resort and you are in 3rd World infrastructure. Eg. sidewalks. People with money to gamble with may simply stay inside the resort, where everything is of a high standard.
  19. No doubt newative will be along to say that the 3 nightclubs, 10 restaurants, 5 sports bars, 3 cocktail bars, 4 cafes etc etc inside the casino will have absolutely ZERO effect on surrounding businesses. ????
  20. A lot of chatter in the industry. A couple more "worthless" links for you to embarrass yourself with even more. https://www.casino.org/news/thailands-casino-plans-cause-mixed-reactions-among-industry-insiders/ https://www.gamblinginsider.com/news/17386/thailand-takes-first-step-towards-casino-development "Should the final recommendations of a government committee exploring the possibility of casinos be put into action, there could be up to five venues to start. The details are now under review by the House of Representatives, but still need approval by other government bodies." So, as of August 2022, it's under review by the House of Representatives.
  21. No, I didn't know it was going to happen. The funny thing was, after it actually happened, you kept banging on how it would never happen, even when it was actually happening, and even after it had happened. Too funny. ???? They are at the government feasibility study stage, I believe. I have always said, "not if, just when" which doesn't state a year, but they are coming, for sure. They are already way behind Vietnam and Cambodia, who have been offering gambling as a tourist activity for many years. I have already posted in that thread. I think it will be moved because you did not specify Pattaya as getting a casino. Getting back on topic, when casinos arrive, depending on their style, they may cause bar and restaurant closures around them.
  22. If they can attract some Chinese whales and they drop $10 million USD in the high roller room in one session, it will dwarf what's happening around here in the bars.
  23. This thread will probably be moved because it doesn't specify Pattaya as having a casino in the future. In any case, it's not if, just when, for both Thailand in general, and Pattaya. Social harm to Thai's has been cited by many as the main reason casinos will never be allowed in Thailand, however, Thailand could easily follow Vietnam's model and have locals provide proof of a minimum monthly salary in order to gain entry.
  24. Back on topic, 40 million tourists to 3.78 million tourists to date, despite covid restrictions being lifted. The big bounce back never came. Some say many are waiting for high season. We'll find out soon enough.
